Hey, at least it isn't Narnia. ;)

But seriously, I thought some of the effects and the set had merit—it's the interaction that of course makes it awkward. What makes the interaction with Turtle Talk work is they pull the kids out from the adults, so the kids get to do the interacting and the adults get to nap. It's like the POC show in MK or Jedi Training in HS.

However, some of the awkwardness that is created in the interaction is the adult not wanting to act like a kid again. I think adults miss out on a lot of the magic when they can't allow themselves to be kids again (this coming from a guy who was one of the knights in Belle's tales—and I don't even have kids.) :)

Anyway—shortening the show probably won't be the worst idea, so people have more time to stand in line for TSM...

They should take out the audience participation parts, those are awkward.

Plus, I engaged in fisticuffs with my fellow guests whom I didn't think were roaring back at the kraken with sufficient gusto. I was all like, "Do you fools want to get eaten!?!?!?!?!" Further, I don't think their lackadaisical stomping would scare off any mermaid. I really don't know how we survived.

^ This. When they asked me to stomp my feet I just about rolled my eyes. Some of the effects are neat and it's a fairly good use of space but the attraction itself doesn't come close to achieving Disney standards. They can shorten it to 0 minutes until they get it right as far as I'm concerned.

Sounds Dangerous and Stitch's Great Escape are better than this show, and I never even set foot in that building even when it was Narnia. Only seen the YouTube videos and I had cringed at those too. On the upside, it is at least better than Narnia was, but I wouldn't say by much.

God bless the "Ignore" button.
I hear they're going to improve the show. By closing it.
Honestly, though, it's like the Forbidden Journey queue and Dora the Explorer had a baby. Worse than Stitch. Worse than literally anything else in Orlando.

I've only seen the videos but for me, one of the most annoying elements was the voice of Davy Jones. How hard would it have been to get Bill Nighy to recreate his role or at very least, get someone who sounds remotely like him? They didn't even come close!

I originally thought this attraction was was like a museum to the movies. Did the show a couple weeks ago and I enjoyed the effects, the guest participation...weird. "Yell at the kraken!" Lol. Put an awesome animatronic kraken in there I might yell much more enthusiastically. I can see what the attempt was on Disney, aim at the children for an interaction show. I like the concept, but they need to do a better job with the interaction part. I saw the idea for pulling kids for specific jobs, that might work well. No yelling or stomping though!

Btw, I like the stitch show. I'd rather see a pure future show though!!

This attraction is essentially a pirate version of the line for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Nice projection effects and set with no payoff. If it were in fact a pre-show for a ride or larger attraction it would be incredible.
I don't mind the replacement of Narnia but Pirates?.... There are no other films that Disney could have highlighted and new? Not represented in any of the parks?
