I was at the Studios on May 26 (Sunday of Memorial Day weekend). We were thinking of popping in just to see/laugh at it. The line was 45 minutes long! I felt so bad for all those guests in line - what a waste of time!

I'm glad that we didn't wait in line to see it while there in February. The wait was 45 mins then too. Not sure if we'll ever go in and see it unless the wait is less than 10 mins.

It's worse than Superstar Limo. Seriously.

I couldn't believe it was an attraction from Disney when I got out of it. It's embarrassing.

just youtubed a video of SL... I really needed that giggle. The funniest part was the picture taken at the end... the cart full of the unhappiest looking campers I've seen in a while. Thanks, Disney.

I think.

Plus, I engaged in fisticuffs with my fellow guests whom I didn't think were roaring back at the kraken with sufficient gusto. I was all like, "Do you fools want to get eaten!?!?!?!?!" Further, I don't think their lackadaisical stomping would scare off any mermaid. I really don't know how we survived.
Do you yell at people on Mission: SPACE for potentially jeopardizing the mission?

This might just be the best thing I've ever seen on here in twelve years of posting. Well played, sir.

In all seriousness, this is a nice little attraction with some very impressive effects. It's not meant to be an e-ticket and it certainly doesn't pretend to be. It's WORLDS better than Narnia, for sure. It does seem to run a bit long, though. Plus the "interactive" parts are pretty lame. Trimming it a bit might not be too bad of a decision.

I don't hate the show...as an exercise in projection effects and lighting. Other than that, I agree it's basically a pre-show for nothing.

It's not bad if there's no wait, but yeah, 45 minute wait for it? I'd be mad too.

Instead of making this a good props/behind the scenes type of attraction you'd expect for DHS, it's a show that is really out of place here and would have been better suited near the actual POTC ride, not that it needs anything, except for maybe an indoor version of a pirate training show.

Experienced the update this past weekend, and the show was much improved. Less talking skull and more action. The 4 minute shaving did this attraction a lot of good. It is now a worthy attraction at Hollywood Studios, I just wish it were seated. :)

Thanks for the info! I'll be sure to visit it again when I go to the World this October!

I was there on Wednesday after a small downpour and the canopies that hang over the queue were leaking pretty badly, they all had small holes in them and were pouring down right next to guests, so I don't think it was by design. The manager on duty was taking photos of it with his work phone, so, maybe this is something that is being fixed as well. I took a photo:

Do you mean with less talking skull made it seem more action or they added more action? Better flow?

I enjoyed the show. Was it amazing? No, but it was entertaining. I was impressed with the special effects and the ambiance it created. Plus, seeing Captain Jack so close is a good thing.

Yes, that's what I was trying to say. When you enter the building, you feel like you've stepped into another world, which never happened with Narnia EXCEPT when the wardrobe doors opened and you glimpsed the snowy forest. The main trouble with "Jack" is the storyline, as others here have said. TDO has got to get rid of its audience-participation obsession. People want to be ENTERTAINED. Most don't want to be part of the entertainment. It's like when Walt made "Peter Pan" and left out the part that was in the stage version where people are asked to clap their hands if they believe in fairies. Walt knew that audience participation can't be counted on - people feel awkward interacting with a film. And that's what the "Jack" attraction is - a FILM. If you count on people responding to a request from a film or pre-recorded performance, there are going to be missed cues all over the place and the show is essentially ruined. Bad idea, TDO. Audience participation is a BAD IDEA. Get over it!

Looking at the picture, I'd have to say that those holes were put there deliberately to drain water. The problem is that whatever group of rocket scientist they assembled to put them up had a couple of points missing in IQ to position the drain area directly over the Queue. Somebody wasn't paying attention to detail on this one.:( The theory is good otherwise there would be gallons of water over head ready to drop on people at any moment. It's just that this was not the place to put it.

Yeah, that's what I thought at first then wondered why they put the holes over the queue. They must have been rather new since the CM was taking photos of it.

Yup, I'm pretty sure it was in error. Someone wasn't paying attention and it wasn't raining when they put them up. Probably a new kid! :p It's like that old joke about the guy who had a leaking roof and people kept asking him when he was going to fix it. His reply...Well, I can't fix it when it's raining and when it isn't, I don't need too! :D
