...So really its just Theming (in queue and decor) and characters...

also feel free to somehow make the queue interactive like the Tinkerbell meet n greet...

How would you theme a meet'n'greet queue? I don't know that I've ever seen a queue for a meet'n'greet that was brilliantly themed (when I think of a meet'n'greet I often think of Epcot's Character Spot...)

Maybe if you could explain the Tinkerbell meet 'n' greet? I've never done it before, so I'm not sure what it's like.

magicmaya... im sorry but i dont understand what you mean...

Comics101... well theme it with like backgrounds and props etc... Like in DL the Tinkerbell Pixie Hollow has you in a forest and you are "shrunk" down to the size of a pixie...and throughout the queue are little cottages that the pixies live in etc... i hope that helps... The one at WDW is not really themed well, it is in the Judges Tent, but the DLR one is a good example... Try to find pics on internet and i think that will explain it...

Yeah, themeing the queue of a Meet and Greet could be rather difficult. Usually, you'd expect the actual Character Photo area to be lavishly decorated, instead of the queue, but both help enhance the story of the "experience" better.

I can't help you with the Pixie Hollow queue, because I've never seen it, but the same applies to Mickey and Minnie's Houses. Their both Meet and Greet areas for the two mice, yet the queue is actually inside their houses, which are very decorated, themed and filled with all sorts of hidden treasures. This project would require you to create one of the those "amazing" Meet and Greets for Adventureland.

I may be mistaken, but I believe you have to insert an HTML code for pictures.

Holy crap, I never knew this guy was shrugging his shoulders. I always thought he was on a BBQ spit. Hahah, I feel so foolish.

Mater, this is really just a question for you about the judging criteria. Do you want the judges to send a copy of our "scores/comments" to you before posting them in the thread? Just wondering.

Is it alright if I post mine on my website? The project portfolio is so large, it won't all fit in one (or two) posts... Let me know and then it will go online!

Barker Bird and Jack the Monkey Meet 'n' Greet

Here's mine...

Barker Bird and Jack the Monkey Meet 'n' Greet

Located in the old "House of Treasure" shop.

The Story

The old PotC Barker Bird has made the PotC Fort's "ammunition closet" his new headquaters, and is holding tryouts for a crew so he can set sail on his next adventure. So far, he's found a first mate, the "fearsome" Johnny Scallywags, and Jack the Monkey (from the PotC films).

Themeing

The themeing would be a continuation of the fort in which the ride is located. The walls would be the same kind of stone used in the fort, and the floor would be made of dark stained wood. On the outside of the door is a temporary-looking sign that reads "Open Tryouts". As you enter the queue, you notice guns and ammo sitting all over the place. Torches provide lighting, and there's a window looking out towards the beach (A picture, similar to the pirate ship at the begining of the ride). Throughout the queue are signs containg what it takes to be a pirate.

Characters

The PotC Barker Bird would be sitting on a ledge like he was before he was removed. He'd be a Living Animatronic like the Muppet Mobile Labs, Wall-E, etc, so he could talk and interact with guests in ways that most meet 'n' greet characters can't. Jack the Monkey would be a puppet held by First Mate Scallywags, who could make Jack communicate with guests by pushing a button. Around the characters would be more pirate-looking weaponry, and a box containing treasure as an incentive to join the crew.

Ok... it seems that Oathkeeper has PMd KingMickey that he will be dropping out of the competition...

So this project someone will STILL be eliminated...just ranked from 10 (Best) to 1 (Least) by the judges...

I have contacted the the WDW Vacationer (the first person on my list of replacements), so if he would still like to play he will take Oathkeeper's place starting Project 2... If he would not like to participate, i will contact number 2...

After doing some work on the project, I think I'm going to go ahead and hang back with the thing and tweak it further... I don't know that its ready for open eyes yet... So I guess that means that I'll be dropping out during this season--let someone else that was waiting have a chance.

Best of luck to everyone else!

And to Mater, thank you for the opportunity--I truly apologize for having to bail at the last minute, but the perfectionist in me had me sweating about releasing the concept without it being up to my own standards.
