We are doing a Gladiator Dinner Show, a pizzeria, and a traditional italian restaurant.
Ok...I guess...DETAILS on any of these?

What kind of gladiator dinner show? What kind of traditional Italian? What does the decor look like? Is the pizzaria counter service/food court style?

Anything detailed would be appreciated...or like I said...I will make it up myself...
and throw you to the lions! :D

Cool... That works. And yes...as far as I can see the resort is Disney's Dolce Vita Resort and the Villas at Dolce Vita

Sorry i've been out for a while, school and work kind of took over.

I thought we agreed for no Gladiator dinner show? Besides, there's really no point in having a full blown show if it's only going to be in the DVC side.

I'm gonna try and draw up the interior of the lobby as well as some more interiors like the restaurant.

My thought on the gladiator show was that they had to sell me on it...and I have to say, Mewhunter PMed me with some good ideas...

With a little sweetening...we could have a small dinner show that would put the emphasis on comedy rather than violence.

besides...we don't have anything else in terms of recreation.

I did some work on the spa...but it's not fully realized.

Do you have a recreation idea you want to throw into the mix Stichcastle?

I'm drawing a map layout right now that includes a restaurant, a bar, 2 pools and a gymnasium that looks like a roman temple.

It also has 24 units facing either Bay Lake, the massive pool, the gymnasium or a little lake.

You ROCK Stitchcastle...I drew up a crappy map for 38 units...but I like your number a lot better!

Thank you for doing this!

Hey...do you think the gym might be a nice link to the spa? I can see that as nice added recreation.

Here's the map:
dvcmap.jpg

some points:
I. The lobby/check-in area. I'm thinking that the main check-in desks could have a large tile mural on it depicting Mickey and Friends back in ancient Rome.

II. A massive restaurant with a large two level patio overlooking Bay Lake.

III. An elegant indoor-outdoor pool modeled after the Roman baths.

IV. A small bar area in the middle of the massive rock work in the middle of the super-sized pool. The bar is inside a small dome that looks like this:

V. A giant version of the pool Figmntal suggested. It is surrounded by elegant marble railings upon which the villas are elevated on.

VI. A gymnasium or any other recreational venue that is modeled to look like a Roman temple, similar to this:
NimesRomanTemple.jpg
just more pristine and pretty with glass windows in between the columns.

VII. A garden/play area.

I'll try to draw more throughout the day.

I'm also here all day, so I can help with ANYTHING else you need me to do. I'm looking now to see if there's anything I can update with my pool. Can I give the whole resort some sort of backstory?

Revised DVC Unit Pool area, note changes to waterslide.

Pool di Nettuno, Disney's Roman Resort DVC Pool

Pool di Nettuno, or Neptune's Pool, is themed to a large Roman bath, fit for Neptune.
Roman Bath Example:
http://www.myenglandtravel.com/images/bath/RomanBath.jpg

Collapsed temple ruins will surround the pool.
Like this:

At the end of the pool, two large trident statues will mark the entrance into a scaled-down version of the Colosseum, which boasts 3 waterslides. One waterslide is the tallest and most thrilling, the second being it's "sidekick" (similar to the slide next to Summit Plummet), and the third being aimed at little kids. From outside the coliseum, guests will be unable to see the actual slides (except for their final exits into the pool), so as not to topple the whole ambiance of the area.

Second Slide: http://www.ecoliblog.com/Water Slide.jpg
Third Slide (one of these):

A large statue of Neptune will sit at the other end of the pool, and will act as sort of a thing to climb on while in the pool.

Wide waterfalls will be placed on each side of the pool, flowing from the temple ruins. The waterfalls' water will be delivered by acqueduct down the ruined stone walls. This in turn creates small alcoves on each side to sit behind the waterfalls.
Waterfall, with alcove (I want something like this, but replace the rocks with the stone temple ruins and you've got it) :

Great work figmntal!

I imagine the design of the slides would be incorporated into the scenery more...as per Disney...but they look great!~

Nice write up too!
and if you want to create a backstory...I don't think anyone has yet...so please feel free

The Dolce Vita Baths-

The pool at Disney's Dolce Vita Resort would be called the Dolce Vita Baths. The whole area would be very clean architectually. The pool would be shaped like this. (Larger, obviously). White tiles with gold trim line the walls of the rough-bottomed pool. 2 hot tubs would be in the pool. One in the middle, one off to the side (similar to the one shown above.)

In the middle of the pool would be a large "island". Approximately 400 square feet, the island would feature a pool bar. it would be hidden by trees and other plants on the island. Fountains shoot out from all sides. It would bea accessed by tiled steps.

On a peninsula projecting into the pool would be a buliding like this:
http://www.against-rome.com/images/illu_01_i01.jpg

Out of the back is where the slide would come from. It would be accessed by stairs inside. It would wind its way through the pool, over the "island",and dump near the building the slide is housed in. It would be supported by columns like this.

A small slide like this would be on the side.

Walls along the island have heads like these squirting,in addition to other fountains.

How about a backstory along the lines of the ancient Roman gods built this resort for humans in order for them to respect their grand culture.
