Genie - LIVE!
Location - Neer Magic Carpets of Aladin, Adventureland, Magic Kingdom

Guests would enter the theatre, made up as a large tent, in Gold and Blue stripes, with a large awning over the entrance, in the same design. Seating would be the same as Turtle Talk in Epcot, adults on benches to the rear (designed in an arabian style) with younger guests on rugs at the front. the screen would be slighly raised, with a round stone plinth in front of the centre part. Resting on the plinth would be the Lamp.

The cast member hosting the show would be an actor dressed as Aladdin, who would start off by inviting one of the children to come up and rub the lamp, which would the start to "jump" and shake" before a puff of blue smoke emmits from the spout, which would then be continued on the screen as the Genie fills the screen, opening with a gag similar to "TEN THOUSAND YEARS... gives you such a crick in the neck!". The genie would then begin to have a back and forth exchange with Aladdin before turning his attention to his "new little masters", asking questions, and even granting a suprise wish (a gift such as family fastpasses, or a unique souveneer cap/shirt/mug) to a lucky guest.

The show could easily be adapted for hollidays such as Christmas, with Genie in seasonal dress (such as Santa, a Pilgrim etc)

I too was a little confused by that aspect of it, and thought, oh well I'll take the challenge and make it an original, which is some ways is actually easier.

I think there's actually three categories of characters that already exist.

1.) Disney Characters not anywhere in the parks. Like Elliot the Dragon, or Bednobs and Broomsticks or Balck Cauldron.
2.) Disney Characters that have a home, like Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, etc. (These are the ones that I thought of as off limits.)
3.) Disney Characters that ARE in the parks, but don't have a home. Like Genie or the Jungle Book characters. These are the guys that confused me, so I avoided them. Honestly, I don't see a problem with someone using them, like we saw with Genie, but then again, I'm not a judge.

Sorry, i didnt mean to mean that.. Even though i DID explain it a couple times...

IT MEANS!! NO LCI THAT IS NOT ALREADY MADE!!!! (ie NO Wall-E, Lucky, or Muppet Mobil Labs)

Original chracters like Push are ok, as well as disney characters...

2 and a half hrs until they're due... I will TRY to put up the new project tonite, but that is HIGHLY unlikely...

NOTE TO JUDGES: ONCE 8pm EST rolls around, please send me your TOP 3 projects.... And them tmrw afternoon (aroud 2pm, when i get out of school) i willpost projects. SO JUDGES i need your TOP 3 by 1pm EST TOMORROW~~

ALso, im trying to figure out a way for the next project to work with 11 ppl instead of the intended 12, AND im waiting for a reply from figmntal.

Mater and I both agree, this project is not about wins and losses. So, as a change of plans, we're not going to post a top three - it wouldn't make a difference anyhow. Feel free to give constructive criticism towards your peers, as we will be doing in the near future.

Stratofarius, you are welcome to criticize the players' work; but as far as staff jobs go, we're all filled up.

You'll definitely want to check our our summer version of THE IMAGINEER. It's gonna be a blast!

Ep-bot

My character is EP-BOT. The EP means "Experimental Prototype",the BOT means "Bot (robot) of Tomorrow. EP_BOT would roam around Future World in EPCOT greeting guests similar to PUSH or Wes Palm. Guests would be able to interact with him by asking him questions. He would reply by talking, sometimes accompanied by the screen on his chest playing a video. Guests would even play touch screen trivia games on the screen!

He would roam about on wheels, controlled by a CM. He would essentially be a roaming tour guide, even able to point toward different areas of the park!

He would be mostly blue, with a silver and red stripe on his chest along with his name- EP-BOT. He would have red shoes, acting as wheel coverings.

He would have special videos when events like Food and Wine and Flower and Garden were happening, and he would also hold a prop related to the event.

I'm back in! I don't have to participate in this project, but i'm doing it for fun.

My characters are Rutt and Tuke from Brother Bear. They will each be pushed around the Epcot Canada pavilion in wooden carts by CMs dressed in mountie attire. They will interact with different groups of guests, mainly telling them a variety of Canadian jokes, such as:

Q: "How do you stop Canadian Bacon from curling in it's pan?"
A: "Take away it's broom!"

or

Q: "In Canada, there's two seasons. Six months of winter, and six months of poor snowmobile weather."

They will roam around the area where the KIDCOT stop is in the pavilion.

Their beaver counterparts Tuke and Rutt (just regular AA's) will banter with each other in a third cart on peak attendence days.

I'm going to be straight with you and say that EP-BOT was my idea too!

Only mine was going to be I.A.N B.O.T (Information and Navigation Bot Of Tomorrow)- not the best name I know.

But seeing as it's already been posted I'm just going to say that I won't be able to turn in a project this round.

Belle's Friends!
(Ok, this one is for my girlfriend, to be honest. :) I was trying to decide, and she came out of left field with this one, so I decided to go with it :))

This takes place with the belle's storytime MnG. Much like the Remy bot at the french restaurant, belle brings out a cart, identical to the one in the dinner scene in BatB. On the cart are four food covers, which are all pulled off to reveal mrs. potts, chip, lumiere, and cogsworth. (i do apologize for the simularity to remy, it just worked in this one)

The four have wanted to venture outside the castle for some time, very jealous of belle's occaisonal trips out to meet the local folk (the guests) and read to them. however, they were afraid of the guests reaction to them, but with belle's coaxing, she brings them out to the oohs and awes of kids. They are shy at first, so there is some interacting with belle as she gets them to be more open to the guests.

As they become more open, they showcase their character traits, Lumiere and cogsworth will have their usual antics, and potts and chip will have their little small talks. All will interact will belle, a la like the two old men in the muppets shows. Lumiere will also be sauve to females in teh audience, to the chagrin of cogsworth. Belle and chip could discuss some with the children about the story, with the occaisonal chip in (no pun intended) by mrs potts.

as they have no hands, there won't really be a way to autograph, but, maybe, have a stamp for each, or if they are easier to control, they could try mouth writing.

this could also be incorporated later, when everything is moved to the new fantasyland. all of them could be used in the same show in the library, or, they could be the hosts for the eventual dinner at the dining room, pulled out on an automagic (RC'd) cart out to the guests, popping out of the covers and singing/greeting! :D

They'll be similar in mechanical nature to remy, like an animated puppet, controlled behind the scenes by CM who see the reactions, and do the voice acting.

StitchCastle’s Elliot

Le me tell you first that these drawings are great! Really-for-real concept art, I think. But some of those thinghs are just impossible to do between technology and the Disney Lawyers. I just can’t see kids getting on Elliot’s tail while he lifts her…! This is a really good place to do it in too, with the tie –in to the FLE.

Chrononymous’s Mushu

Let me tell, you, the whole “presentation” of this project, from the setting to the thoughtfulness of adding a small preshow, is great. I would have loved to hear how Crickee is involved and maybe a sample story, but this project is great.

Jasonflz’s Smelly Sam

Although I’d like plot to be expanded upon, the idea of the mule is a good one. The “human aspect” is also a fantastic touch allowing for a more believable show. The stage also seems nice.

Fractal514’s Amal

This is a great idea, although I’m not sure how well this character translates into AA form. In the movie he’s very animated and uses his props and the audience in a hands-on way that’s impossible here. The look of the character would be perfect in AA, though .

Tazer19’s Doth

Doth is such a fun idea, and story time makes him even more approachable to kids… maybe too approachable. He IS a troll, after all. And the store is just a WEE bit congested, considering that everyone who goes on Maelstrom exits here… really fun idea, though, one that begs for more “fleshing out”

Kermitdefrog’s Little Einsteins & Rocket

… this is something that may fit a little bit better in the DHS. The whole “kids at Disney” theme and the whimsical aspect (as well as the fact that Playhouse Disney characters have EXCLUSEVELY appeared here in the past) makes it a way better fit at DHS. That aside, I’m not sure why the Einsteins would ask questions and say things so inappropriate for their age range (impossible trivia, Universal Studios jokes, etc.). Havng this in Epcot is just a little too silly for a park that takes their attractions in a very serious manner. And if this HAS to go in Epcot, choosing one of the sides of the park (Future World/World Showcase) might be better than just letting Rocket roam around.

MathewGW’s Genie

Although not an AMAZINGLY crazy concept, it sounds fun for what it is. Without a real “WOW” factor, the show kind of blends into the current LCI character’s shows. Still, free stuff is a surefire way to make a show popular.

Figmntal 95’s Rutt & Tuke (& Tuke & Rutt)

I may just be partial to these characters, but they are just SO funny and would make a great addition to Canada. Although I’m not sure I agree with the “wagon” idea, the concept is genius!

Mewhunter67’s Belle’s Friends

I know it’s not a common question in the Disney-verse, but how can the characters be “objects” if they’re telling the story of how they become humans…? Very confusing. But anyway, this is a great idea that is, in fact, being replicated by the Imagineers for the Be Our Guest diner.
