The Imagineer 2-- R1, Project 5

StitchCastle’s Elliot

Le me tell you first that these drawings are great! Really-for-real concept art, I think. But some of those thinghs are just impossible to do between technology and the Disney Lawyers. I just can’t see kids getting on Elliot’s tail while he lifts her…! This is a really good place to do it in too, with the tie –in to the FLE.

Chrononymous’s Mushu

Let me tell, you, the whole “presentation” of this project, from the setting to the thoughtfulness of adding a small preshow, is great. I would have loved to hear how Crickee is involved and maybe a sample story, but this project is great.

Jasonflz’s Smelly Sam

Although I’d like plot to be expanded upon, the idea of the mule is a good one. The “human aspect” is also a fantastic touch allowing for a more believable show. The stage also seems nice.

Fractal514’s Amal

This is a great idea, although I’m not sure how well this character translates into AA form. In the movie he’s very animated and uses his props and the audience in a hands-on way that’s impossible here. The look of the character would be perfect in AA, though .

Tazer19’s Doth

Doth is such a fun idea, and story time makes him even more approachable to kids… maybe too approachable. He IS a troll, after all. And the store is just a WEE bit congested, considering that everyone who goes on Maelstrom exits here… really fun idea, though, one that begs for more “fleshing out”

Kermitdefrog’s Little Einsteins & Rocket

… this is something that may fit a little bit better in the DHS. The whole “kids at Disney” theme and the whimsical aspect (as well as the fact that Playhouse Disney characters have EXCLUSEVELY appeared here in the past) makes it a way better fit at DHS. That aside, I’m not sure why the Einsteins would ask questions and say things so inappropriate for their age range (impossible trivia, Universal Studios jokes, etc.). Havng this in Epcot is just a little too silly for a park that takes their attractions in a very serious manner. And if this HAS to go in Epcot, choosing one of the sides of the park (Future World/World Showcase) might be better than just letting Rocket roam around.

MathewGW’s Genie

Although not an AMAZINGLY crazy concept, it sounds fun for what it is. Without a real “WOW” factor, the show kind of blends into the current LCI character’s shows. Still, free stuff is a surefire way to make a show popular.

Figmntal 95’s Rutt & Tuke (& Tuke & Rutt)

I may just be partial to these characters, but they are just SO funny and would make a great addition to Canada. Although I’m not sure I agree with the “wagon” idea, the concept is genius!

Mewhunter67’s Belle’s Friends

I know it’s not a common question in the Disney-verse, but how can the characters be “objects” if they’re telling the story of how they become humans…? Very confusing. But anyway, this is a great idea that is, in fact, being replicated by the Imagineers for the Be Our Guest diner.

OMG! Really?! XD sorry, ir eally didn't know; i'll be brutally honest, I haven't seen the storytime... so, forgive me (sheepish grin) you ARE very correct, that would be confusing... thanks disneyson! :)

Thanks. I also doubted the wagon idea, but I really don't think a stationary area for them would attract as many guests.

I think it's ultra cool that I can, as a fellow player, offer some feedback as well!

Stichcastle...man you really raised the bar high! I had an idea for Pete's Dragon as well...but your ideas and drawings blew me away!
Eliots is one of my favorite characters...from one of my favorite movies of all time, and your idea of including him in the circus is pretty fantastic!

(My take on it was to do more of a medicine show, like in the movie, and have Eliot disrupt in his invisible way!)
I love that he would be invisible for part of it, because it's such a neat effect, but some of the other effects...when he is visible... seem really tough to pull off from a practical perspective! Still...LOVE this idea, and wish that WDW had something like this in the parks!

Jasonflz...the Smelly Sam idea is so ingenious! When I was thinking of ideas, one of the things I thought was...there needs to be a living character in Frontierland! And while I had something similar in mind...your grizzled prospector and mule has a ring of perfection!
I can picture it so clearly in my mind! Living characters should be something that isn't viable in the real world...and a talking mule is ideal for this!
I also love the idea of the show, and the Island has a lot of space to make this happen!
Really fabulous idea!

Fractal...your idea made me chuckle because I have done this exact bit as a character when I worked at renaissance festivals! Except that I was a gypsy who "sold" junk with extraordinary stories attached to them. Didn't have any special effects though...that would be so friggin awesome!
I love Aladdin...it's my favorite animated film, and I saw it 12 times in the theater during it's first release. And I really do think Morrocco would benefit from having this character there to bring some silliness and fun to the pavillion! This idea rocks!

Taser...I always love to see what you come up with in this competition! Your ideas are always so well thought out! And having a living Troll character is right up there with your very best! Norway could use a little something as well...and I love that your character is original, and would fit in so perfectly. I agree...he would be funny inside the store surprising people, but he might be better at the landing before the film, or in the viking ship play area. There are so many cool Norwegian magic tales that he could relate.

Kermitdefrog...I too think your idea would work better in the animation courtyard of DHS than in Epcot...but it's a cute idea. Setting aside my personal feelings about the show, I think a trivia challenge with these brainy kids might be fun. My only question...why would the girls be playing dress up, but not the boys? It's weird to me.But I think it would be easier for kids to relate to them as they appear on the show (would they be big headed characters, to look close to their animated selves?) otherwise...even those who watch the show might not know who the heck they are.

More stuff...

mathewGW...I love Aladdin...and I think the Genie would make such a great living character...he's the perfect mix of fantasy, and modern slang...he would be super in an interactive show! And I like what you dreamed up for him too...I can totally see this show being a real treat in the parks!

figmntl...This idea is pure genius. I love the jokes, I love the characters, and I love the placement of them in Canada. Which is funny...because I loathe the movie they are featured in. Still...this idea has absolutely everything going for it! Well done! I would love to see this in WDW.

WDWVacationer...Ep-bot is hot! I love this concept...how totally cool would it be to see a real interactive robot in Future World? I am actually surprised they don't already have this idea implemented! I would love to see this one too!

Mewhunter...what a sweet idea! I adore every part of this. I mean, there are no better living characters than the the living furniture from Beast's castle!
And Belle already has her little storytelling showcase...THIS would be such a great treat as part of that!
And I don't see the problem...I mean, if it takes place in the part of the story before the beast becomes a Prince...(I always thought this was true anyway with Belle's show... why would a princess be dressed like that?) How totally awesome this would be!
and I am not surprised to hear that Disney already has something like this in their plans!

Thanks for the comments guys. Disneyson - those were the exact concerns I had after submission. I should have given it a little more thought.
