This attraction is the definition of “between a rock and a hard place”. I’m sure Disney wants to change this attraction, but they never seem to get a good time to do it.

Nothing ever happens.

The only compromises I can think of would be National Treasure IP overlay, possibly Night at the Museum as a backdoor way to introduce the AA show. Even Muppets is questionable. Short of that, level it or completely different attraction sans any presidents.

For the past several presidential elections people have presupposed that Disney will do something different with the HoP.

And other than changing what the current president says (oath of office, short speech), it remains the same.

There's no reason to think otherwise this time around.

Unless the current president again wants to insist on his own wording which Disney deems unsuitable for the attraction. Then, look for it to be closed for the next four years. But, that's not a likely scenario.

Someone lost the old sign is the most likely reason lol.

probably because they have no new ideas or people that could even figure out how to put something new in....that would cost less than a new Meet and greet.... What they already have there they could not afford to replace with anything worthwhile...

Seeing as this has been their reasoning for every single demolishment and replacement in the last year I don't see why they wouldnt' just do this.
Because it’s a shame, and they know it - especially if this bizarre climate is just a blip and things go back to normal. Then they will have demolished what was once a fairly impressive display of patriotism for nothing.

what could feasibly be done with this space that would generate a need for an LL?
Trying to look at the buildings actual layout is kinda hard since it seems to share space with Phillhar + Peter Pan but I think a new C-ticket Dark ride could be put there with a little reconfiguring. Could put something definitely Mr. Toad style atleast for the kiddos to better appreciate the area. Muppets or Sleepy Hollow would be fun there but may not be huge turns on investment but I could imagine maybe something themed to Hamilton (not a ride though, I would keep it as a show)

Patriotism, like the flag and so many other things, have become blunt weapons wielded poorly. I'd rather have a show focused more on "We the People".

Either way, Lincoln's speech should be heard by both audience and those on stage:

"This government must be preserved in spite of the acts of any man or set of men. Nowhere in the world is presented a government of so much liberty and equality. To the humblest and poorest among us are held the highest privileges and positions. What constitutes the bulwark of our liberty and independence? It is not the frowning battlements, or bristling seacoast, our army and navy. These are not our reliance against tyranny. Our reliance is in the love of liberty which God has planted in us. Our defense is in the spirit which prizes liberty as the heritage of all men, in all lands everywhere. Destroy this spirit and you have planted the seeds of despotism at your own doors."

"At what point shall we expect the approach of danger? By what means shall we fortify against it? Shall we expect some transatlantic giant to step the ocean and crush us at a blow? Never. All the armies of Europe, Asia, and Africa combined could not, by force, take a drink from the Ohio or make a track on the Blue Ridge."

"At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up among us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we ourselves, must be its author and its finisher. As a nation of free men, we must live through all time, or die by suicide. Surely God would not have created such a being as man, with an ability to grasp the infinite to exist only for a day. No. No. Man was made for immortality."

Unless all social media gets banned and all 24 hour news networks go dark (I don't support either as I believe in free speech) then the current, "bizarre," climate will continue to be the new normal.
