The Figgy family road trip! Or how to go without sleep

Spoiler alert, free stuff and soft openings are fun. Ok, here we go! Things started off differently than planned to say the least. A small tropical system was heading up 95N so we went west and took 81S into South Carolina before we saw any sun. This added somewhere between 2 and 3 hours to our trip but it was worth it as we kept hearing 95 wasn't the road to be on that day! From 81 we headed across 77 and found something that made me think about our dear @real mad hatter:eek: I think I might just have found his second favorite place in the states! Frugal Mc Dougal's discount beverage center, the place had a sign with a goofy looking guy with a kilt on it:eek: The rest of the trip to Georgia was quiet and we spent the night at the Super 8 in Brunswick. It was clean quiet and cheap. We got a good 8 hours sleep and we would need it as the rest of the trip we never seemed to get much:D

Park day 7 MK. Another front of the line rope drop day! Here's a day both @epcotisbest and @real mad hatter can both enjoy for different reasons. Lucky us we were up at the rope before opening and a very nice CM came by with coupons for the soft opening for the Main Street Bakery! YEA you needed a coupon to order as they were not taking money that day and were only going to be open for a short while after rope drop. So off we went at rope drop to try out the new stuff. Well I hope they have gotten their act together by now because nobody seemed to know where anything was. They only had a dark roast coffee and it took them a while to find the soy milk. Jim and Michael split a breakfast sandwich and let's just say it isn't on their to do list for the next trip. James just wanted a milk. I can't really complain too much as it was @real mad hatter's favorite word, FREE! @DisneyDelirious I looked for you cinnamon roll and didn't see it.:( From there it was off to Story time with Belle just had to see it one more time as it was just so magical. James and I were both in the show I was the loud armoire, talk about type casting LOL. When we left we really lucked out because Gaston was just coming out and James was first on line to see him. Off to ride Under the Sea again and do some window shopping in Fantasyland. From there it was an early lunch at BOG. I can't believe how fast the lines move and lunch was excellent. I got the quinoa salad, James got the quiche, Michael got the pork and Jim got a couque monsieur. Everybody had a great time there!!!!!!!!! I highly recommend it for both lunch and dinner! After an easy morning time to get moving we went on the Liberty Belle, BTMRR, Splash, JC and POTC with bearly taking a breath. So now it was time for another visit with the Tiki birds. I so missed them the last trip as they were closed after the fire. The only problem is I can't get Tiki, Tiki, Tiki out of my head LOL From there time for some AC so we did a little shopping on Main Street and James did some of the Sorcerers missions.

Time for a little more adventure. So off to TL we went. In very quick succession we went on COP, Wed-Way and SM then over to the Tea Cups to be spun around quickly by my boys! Then Pooh, PP, IASW then back over to Splash and BTMRR. Time for dinner I wanted to go to CHH but the boys voted for Pecos Bill's Then another trip though JC, the jokes never get old and POTC, the boys really love that one. Back over to Main Street for desert Michael wanted The Mickey ice cream on a stick but I talked them into going to the Plaza for ice cream. Just ask @ShookieJones or @littleroo they'll understand. Time to settle in for my last night in MK:( I did have 3 wonderful and most magical days there and got so much done. But it still hurt leaving the park at the end of the night for the last time that trip.

With your issues with allergies I wouldn't risk it. But when I talked to the muckey muck from dining the look of terror on her face when I mentioned a problem with food allergies she said it would be addressed immediately. BTW the couldn't find the allergy book while I was there! Which severely limited food choices!

I guess the good news...it will be a MUCH cheaper afternoon for us, but the reasons prompting it are pretty alarming. Pretty sad that they couldn't find the allergy book. GRRRRRRRR Thanks again for posting this issue because I really don't want to have DD6 go into anaphylactic shock over something that was supposed to be a fun treat.

Will try and catch up on the rest of the report after work :)

No time for crying or sleep. Park day 9 AK, our one and only day here. The boys and I could have easily done another day her but Jim can't tae the heat and the park does lack AC. Another early am, I got up and fed the boys eggs, fruit and toast knowing lunch would probably be a little late today. Another front of the line rope drop day! I managed to get James signed up for the Wilderness Explorers before the rope even dropped! His mission today do all the rides and shows and complete the Wilderness Explorers Badges. So being a mom with a plan we headed straight over to ride the Safari and explore the Pangani trail. From there we headed over to catch the first showing of FOLK. After that a quick walk over to ride Dinosaur and PW. He didn't want to go on TS darn he's getting too big for some things:( Then into the boneyard to finish off the badges in that area. Our timing was great as we just got in to see Finding Nemo the musical with no wait or line. On over to Asia EE, KRR and flights of wonder in quick succession. James also managed to get all the badges along the way. Time for lunch and a quick breath. Yak and Yeti for the boys. They like the orange chicken and due to allergies the burger was the safest choice. Jim got the salad with chicken. I headed over to Tamu Tamu hoping to try the salad with tofu but the cheese was mixed in so off to try the noodle bowl with veggies at Bradley Falls. EEK they were egg noodles so another no go. Grabbed a frozen lime margarita, ok nerves steadied LOL and tummy full enough to hold me over. Thankfully the tofu, veggie scramble for breakfast was filling. Back to the mission at hand. We rode the train to the conservation station. James got quite a few badges here. A CM even checks their hands to make sure they are clean for the hand washing one after petting the animals. The AC in here is really refreshing in the heat of the day. Back down on the train we went to watch the afternoon parade. We got an excellent spot in the Dawa Bar and I got a most yummy Lost on Safari. The parade is a little cheesy but it is fun to watch. And the Bar is a good place to watch it with both shade and seating. Time to head over to Discovery Island to see ITTBAB. Yes another 3D show that never seems to get old. Time for James to finish up his badges. Yea he got them all done before dinner! The CM at the place he got his last badge is also vegan and she suggested Restaurantsaurous for dinner. The veggie sandwich was yummy and filling. About then the skies opened up and the park emptied out. Us crazy and brave souls kept going right on over to ride Dinosaur again, no line at all! The skies cleared and we rode PW, Kali, EE and saw ITTBAG again all with no lines at all. I love it when the rain haters flee. While at EE James got something for Michael to be put away for his birthday. It was an absolutely wonderful day. Seeing we had to leave at about 8 when we got back to the condo. Time to start packing and organizing for the ride out. We were all in bed by 11. And for those of you over 21 who wish to do so you must try the adult lemonaid at Restaurantsaurous, it was very yummy.

We need time for things to happen.

I can't imagine what was going through your head when your boys wanted the Premium bar. Glad it turned out all right. btw, how is the ice cream at the Plaza? I've never been there myself but it seems a lot of people here like the food of the Plaza restaurant overall. Aside from that, loved reading about your AK adventures.
