Trip Report The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW/Honeymoon TR

The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW & Honeymoon Report

Welcome to the very best trip report EVER!!!!! I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this when I’ve been married for over two months now…yep that’s right! I went down to the happiest place on earth and got married!! Oh aaaannd I went on my very first cruise! (Apologies to my cruise ladies…that was supposed to be my first cruise, but I made a cruise a first for me and my husband!) So thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!!!!!

WHEN: May 18-May 28, 2013

WHERE: May 18-23: The Boardwalk Inn, May 23-26: Disney Dream, May 26-28: Art of Animation: Little Mermaid room

WHO: There were a lot of characters that made appearances during this trip! Myself, my now husband Mike (who hasn’t been to the world since he was 12 and he is now 26), Mom (who you know from my many previous trip reports), Dad (his first trip EVER and first time to FL), Memere & Pepere (my grandparents whom are lovers of Disney & resided in FL for a few winters), Aunt (tagged along to help the grandparents), Mom-in-law & Dad-in-law (Mike’s parents), Brother & his gf (Mike’s brother and his gf tagged along for the journey too! It was her first time to WDW and they had a blast!)

Now everyone pretty much came in on the 18th and left on the 22nd (except us). The other characters will make appearances in a few places but I’ll only post a picture of us for now.

Mike and I right after we got engaged in Seabrook, NH on the Beach on August 12, 2012.

A little background on Mike and I and this decision before I begin…Mike and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met in college through a mutual friend and the rest is history :) I knew there was something about him from the moment I laid eyes on him, and fortunately he felt the same about me. I did warn him about my Disney addiction way in the beginning & said if we get married it will be in Disney World. I guess he didn’t mind because well he let my dream come true! We were originally planning on getting married in March 2014, but since we were both already out of school and had full time jobs…we figured why not sooner! So about 7 months before the big day in October…we decided to get married in Disney World in May! We were so excited to get planning and thought it was so far away! But my, did the time come very fast! Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy it!

Note: I did not take notes on this trip at all I was having too much fun to stop and write so this is going all from my pictures and memory!

During the wedding days of the trip, we used these awesome Times Guides that @HollyBelle made for us!!! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!! Everyone loved them!!!

OMG, how gorgeous are you! Loved it all, the hair, the makeup, the dress and I'm not usually a shoe person (I know, what woman isn't?) but LOVE your shoes. You two make such a beautiful couple, I wish you both all the love and happiness in the world. Can't wait for the rest of the TR!

Loving your report and your pictures. I wish I had escaped to Disney for my wedding with just a few family members instead of the traditional big wedding. I was excited to see your report as I always enjoy your trip reports so much!

OK so you may not cried during the wedding but I sure as heck did! I'm over here crying like a baby!!! lol

Jess, what a BEAUTIFUL ceremony! You looked amazing!! Like a princess! :) The photos Jason did were fab! I LOVE the one reflecting the two of you in the water. Such a unique shot! And the pics from MK are fantastic as well! :)

V&A looks really good, but not something I think I would ever do, even if I had the money. I am SO picky about my food so I'd be paranoid the whole meal about what I was eating lol I'm weird, I know!!

YAY! :D Jess, I am so excited to see this trip report! I have been MIA from the boards for a little while so it was so nice to come back and see you started your trip report. Ok, lots of things to discuss.

Congrats! How magical to have your wedding in WDW! I absolutely LOVE those Times Guides that @HollyBelle made for you! Super cute.

The BoardWalk is one of my favs too! We stayed there when we got engaged so it will always have a special place in my heart. I think it is my favorite of the Epcot Resorts. It is really hard to beat that location!

I can't believe that Fantasmic was that empty when you saw it! :jawdrop: I love Fantasmic but I haven't seen it in years because it is always so darn crowded and I just can't justify waiting in line for that long just to get a decent seat.

I love love LOVE your pictures taken in the Magic Kingdom! So gorgeous. I also can't pick a favorite because I love them all! I can't get over how cool it would be to drive in a car down Main Street. And to turn on the Castle lights?! Talk about Disney magic!

I can't wait to read about your cruise! :D

We've always wanted to try Narcossee's, it's on our disneymoon to do list, along with the Wishes cruise, so glad you guys enjoyed both! Looking forward to reading all about your cruise!!

Ughhh this is amazing and I'm up way too late but I haven't had wireless because I've been at the house and now I'm at the cottage.. my life is so complicated *EXTRA BIG SIGH* and I just realized I didn't email you back again but I'm glad you got your $$ and that you posted this while I'm still in the country.

UM GORGEOUS BRIDE MUCH? Your pictures are stunning and it looks like it was the most amazing of days. I still love the jacket-over-the-head picture :) Beauties, both of you, and the biggest congrats and the most amount of love and luck in your life together.

But I know you'll be fine, because you have purple nails and a big heart.

Can I just say that I muchly approve of your "See The Light" choice, and I believe that it would be my dancing song with "Go The Distance" being my aisle song? I've thought this through. I've also informed Andrew. He just nods at me and reminds me that I'm going to China. However, he did mention that he got an email from Air Canada with a sweet deal on flights to Beijing "or I could just save it and we could go to DIsney when you get back". Promising.

You looked lovely at Vic and Al's - food looks/sounds weird but you can tell it would be the yummiest! I'm so with you on the fancy food thing, and I wouild have spilled a glass of water too.. don't stress. :)

Okay, cruise please. You have 4 days.

XOXO

Awwww yay! I'm glad you got to read this part before you go today!!! SO sorry I haven't gotten the rest posted before you leave! I was out of town for the weekend and getting back to the daily grind today!

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Oooo how nice of a gift would that be if you come back from China and he suprises you with a Disney trip??????? That would be soooo awesome!

And trust me the food did look and sound weird. There was a few times we looked at each other and were like uh we're really going to eat this? But it was sooooo YUMMY! haha glad I wouldn't be the only one!!!!!!! :)

I'll be posting more tonight and have a safe trip!!!!!!!!

Not gonna lie...instant tears from those wedding pics. So beautiful!

Big congrats (again) to you both and I wish you many many happy years together! Oh and I could totally hear that music playing as you walked down the aisle. Solo violin is awesome. I went all classical on my wedding day and had a trio play a Bach piece (one of my favorites) while I walked down. But I think if I were to choose a Disney song it would have been "Whole New World"

I definitely have to hang out around the Boardwalk again. All your pictures make it look so fabulous and inviting. *makes note for February trip* :)

Awww thank you so much!!!!!! :)

Solo violin was awesome. It was what came with the package, so anything else was extra, which honestly I don't feel is needed, the solo violin is perfect!

And you definitely need to hang out on the boardwalk again! It's so beautiful there!

No idea WHY I'm just NOW reading this but I'm glad in a way because I didn't have to wait for the good parts...the wedding stuff...V&As...etc. Absolutely loved it all! You're both adorable and your day was so beautiful. Sometimes I'm sorta wistful for the big wedding I never had but then I'm okay in the feeling that it just wouldn't be me to do it that way. You totally rocked every little detail, tho. Go on with your bad*ss bridal self! Woot!

V&As totally reminds me of Remy. Isn't the special plushy stool just for your purse to sit on the most brilliant thing ever??? I'm no fan of wine normally but I'm interested enough in how it's "paired" that I'd like to try a special dining experience again just to give my inner wine-o another shot. LOL!

Can't wait to see what you thought of your cruise! And REALLY can't wait to SEE you ON the cruise next month!

Awwww thanks for tuning in Kelly! And thank you for all the kind comments!!! Thank you!!! I thought it was going to be a lot worse planning the wedding and stressful! But with Disney I had no stress, the stress came from planning a 100 person reception back at home! Small weddings are the way to go!
OMG I LOVED THE PLUSHY STOOL! I was so amazed by it when she placed it beside me for my purse.

I'm not a wine person either, but I must say if you've never done a pairing do it at V&A's. well worth it! But I still don't drink wine after that LOL. (except in sangria's)

And yes cruise portion starting tonight!!!! :) Can't wait to see you in 25 short days!!!!!!!! :D

Great wedding and trip to V n As! I have to say I am a little jealous! Me and my fiancé have wanted to get married in Disney for a whole now, and everything you did looks perfect! Also, I totally understand if you do not want to reveal, but I have wanted to eat at V n As forever and was wondering how much your meal ended up costing you? It looked all so yummy an would love to take my girl there someday!

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you for the kind words!!! I had a Tables in Wonderland card which got us 20% that helped alot. I don't remember exactly what it was off the top of my head. When I get home tonight, I'll look and get back to you to give you an accurate price.

I'll respond to the rest of the responses later tonight! Gotta get back to work!

@stevehousse so it was $135 each for us to eat there and $65 each for the wine pairings. That was regular price. With the 20% off our food and beverage with the Tables in Wonderland card, and after tax and 20% auto gratuity for V& A's with the TiW card it came to a grand total of $420.80. I don't mind posting because honestly the prices are out there anyways. It was very expensive, but completely worth it. If you don't get the wine pairings obviously it's a lot cheaper, but for us this was the best bet since we really don't drink and don't know our drinks at all. I would definitely eat there at least once. 100% worth it.

Your Magic Kingdom portrait session was gorgeous. Yours are the first bridal portraits I've seen in the new Tangled area of Fantasyland, and they're amazing!

Thank you so much!!!!!! :) I know we weren't the first in there, because I've seen a few posted on the DFTW wedding blog, but once I did see those, I knew I wanted pictures in there, especially since I had the Rapunzel dress from the Alfred Angelo collection which I totally forgot to mention in my report!!!! Oops! :) Thanks again!

Thank you so much!!!!! I'm glad you loved all of it!!!!! hahaha I'm not a fancy shoe person, that's about the highest heel I can walk in. And suprisingly those shoes were really comfortable! Thank you so much again! More coming soon!!!

Awesome photos! What an amazing experience that had to have been in MK taking those pictures long before the park opens.

Thank you! It was such an amazing experience! I will never forget it! One of the highlights of the trip!

Loving your report and your pictures. I wish I had escaped to Disney for my wedding with just a few family members instead of the traditional big wedding. I was excited to see your report as I always enjoy your trip reports so much!

Thank you soooo much!!!! It was so awesome escaping to Disney with a few people. I did have a reception back at home with about 100 people which was still enjoyable. I'm so glad you enjoy my trip reports! Thank you for always tuning in!

I am loving your wedding report. Your bridal photos are gorgeous! What a lovely couple you make. My DH and I Disneymooned too. I loved your dinner experience at V&A. It is on my bucket list. Congratulations and I wish you a happy ever after.

Thank you so much for reading! For one of your anniversaries you should totally have dinner at V&A's it is definitely worth it! And thank you again!

^That photo is amazing. Well all of them are, but this one especially. I love that the castle is there but the focus is on you guys. Perfect. Loving the report!

I love that one too! It really is hard to pick a favorite!

Congrats to you and your husband! I have enjoyed reading all of your trip reports and am super excited for this one. Your pictures are great and you do such a wonderful job telling the stories of your trips! LOVED the photo session! I am a bit behind as I am typing this so I am just getting to the wedding....very excited!

Thank you so so much for reading all of my trip reports and tuning into this one! It truly means a lot to me!!!! You could always do a vow renewal someday ;) Thank you thank you again!

OK so you may not cried during the wedding but I sure as heck did! I'm over here crying like a baby!!! lol

awwwww I'm glad all of you are crying for me! It was so weird. I cry for pretty much anything Disney, wishes, etc. But on my wedding day nothing. It's amazing LOL. Was just too happy I guess!

I tried not to think about that kind of stuff! Especially since we ate some of the meat medium rare, and medium (I typically eat things Well done) but when they suggested it that way, I wanted to venture out and try it and figured this would be the best place since I knew they wouldn't screw anything up. It was definitely worth it. But don't worry I had to put that thought to the back of my mind to be open about what I was eating. :)

Congrats. Disney is so magical for weddings.

Thank you!

Thanks Ashley for tuning in!!!! :) And welcome back!!!!!!!!!!!!! She did a great job with those times guides! I'm so thankful she helped me out!

It is definitely hard to beat that location! When we go back he wants to stay at the Beach Club (or Yacht) but stay in that area, just try a different resort.

I couldn't believe it either! Granted it was the second showing but there was seriously hardly anyone! It was great!

I'm glad you love those MK pics! It was so cool, definitely Disney magic at it's finest!

And cruise coming up right after all these replies!!!! :)

Just got back from my trip and glad I could finally catch up on this!!

I am so glad you loved the glowtini, I make it at home now, I have so many glow cubes!!

Welcome back Nicole! I hope you guys had the most magical of time!!!!!!! :)

OMG my new favorite drink. I need to learn how to make it at home! I only have one, but I'm sure my collection will grow very slowly...LOL.

Thank you for all the kind words!

Where did I leave off now...oh yes! The cruise portion of the Disneymoon was about to begin!

Thursday May 23-1st Cruise Day!!!!

The phone rang promptly at 8 am saying someone would be on their way to collect our luggage for the cruise. We made sure we had all the things we needed to get dressed and ready for the day. The doorbell rang and off our luggage went!

We got up and dressed ate the breakfast we had left over from the previous days, donuts and muffins! We enjoyed as much of the room as we could before it was time to go…so sad to leave this beautiful balcony!

Elevator shot!
IMG_7903_zpsaa48f905.jpg

We were down in the lobby around 10. We snooped in the gift shops one more time…where I bought myself a pair of Mickey Mouse sunglasses since mine had broke earlier in the week and I knew I would need them on the cruise! They are now my favorite pair!

IMG_7904_zps9667cc76.jpg

It was still kind of early to check in so we sat outside for a bit to soak up the scenery
IMG_7905_zps3c207133.jpg

Finally it was 11 o clock and we went over to the Belle Vue Lounge to check in with the Cruise Line Attendant. Turns out we weren’t the only ones who were really early. So we just sat and hung out.

I was jumping up and down in my seat I was so excited!

I don’t have any pictures between here and check-in because of security and all that. We got in line to check-in and turns out that we were actually in one of the first groups so we were already all set to board!

We had our picture taken and got ready to step foot on the ship, the whole being announced when you come on board was so surreal…I honestly teared up a bit because I was so excited!!!! The lobby is just beautiful!!!!!!!!! I only took a few pictures the first time around because we wanted to soak it all in!

It was exactly 130 and I remember reading that rooms are usually ready at that time. So we headed on up to our stateroom 7582!!!!!! (Which is actually right down the hall from my mom and I’s stateroom for the Girl’s Cruise!!!!! So I already know where we’ll be! So excited!)

We were pretty hungry so we headed up to Cabanas for some grub…and this is where it got overwhelming for me only for the first few hours but there was soooooo many people on deck and in Cabanas that I had no idea what to do where to go…but once we got the hang of things we were good! But it was a pretty scary feeling for a little bit.

IMG_7951_zps4d847480.jpg

Time for food!
IMG_7952_zps4771bda1.jpg

We finally found a seat outside, but it was too hot so we wandered around inside a bit more and finally got a seat. Here’s my plate! It looks a bit much but I wanted to try everything!!! The mac and cheese was the best!!!!!!

IMG_7988_zpse1b25bb3.jpg

On our way out we met our stateroom host Suta, introducing himself and asking us how we liked it so far, he noticed our ears so he congratulated us etc. He was always so excited especially after he made towel animals for us, always asking us how we liked them and if he did a great job, etc. And if we needed anything he would bring it to us in a heartbeat. Needless to say we LOVED him. Anyways you’ll hear more about him later. (I hope we have the same stateroom host when Mom and I go in September!)

We had the second dinner seating so it was off to the Golden Mickeys!

IMG_8003_zps30bdd480.jpg

I ended up buying myself a nice Disney Cruise Line watch (because I realized we wouldn’t be able to tell time since we shut our phones off) but I loved the watch! I wear it at home too and I can’t wait to take it back! I also bought a stuffed animal Sailor Mickey along with an awesome DCL slant mug and an ornament for our Christmas Tree this year!

We had plenty of time before dinner so we brought it back up to our room.

So cute how he set this up

This was the point where we realized how AWESOME Suta was. We had left our luggage everywhere on the floor and clothes all over the floor because basically we changed and just left everything. We came back to our luggage neatly put under the bed and our clothes were folded up nice and neatly in the corner of the desk. EVEN HIS USED UNDERWEAR. Seriously, Suta was the man! Could never say anything bad about him!

These bags are my favorite!

We had a knock on the door and it was Suta bringing us bath soap because he forgot to leave some for us! We thanked him for cleaning up for us and he was super nice asking us if we loved the towel animal! And we did! Thanks Suta!

Finally the doors open and in we went! We were seated at Table 37 with 2 other couples and 2 best friends. One couple from Texas had just gotten married on the 18th of May and were on their honeymoon. They were around our age. Another couple were celebrating their one year anniversary from Maryland. The two best friends were from Alabama. Everyone got along very well! Of course it was a little awkward at first, but we got past that!

Unfortunately, I can’t remember our server’s names. They were really good and one of them was from Portugal!

I had the French Onion soup (sorry I didn’t take pictures of all of Mike’s food) It was pretty good nothing to write home about though.

We both had some chicken entrée (sorry don’t remember the names for the life of me) I didn’t eat all of mine because I didn’t really care for it, but I really wasn’t that hungry anyways.
