The Fairytale & Dream Come True-May 2013 DFTW & Honeymoon Report​

Welcome to the very best trip report EVER!!!!! I can’t believe I’m sitting here writing this when I’ve been married for over two months now…yep that’s right! I went down to the happiest place on earth and got married!! Oh aaaannd I went on my very first cruise! (Apologies to my cruise ladies…that was supposed to be my first cruise, but I made a cruise a first for me and my husband!) So thanks for tuning in and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!!!!!

WHEN: May 18-May 28, 2013

WHERE: May 18-23: The Boardwalk Inn, May 23-26: Disney Dream, May 26-28: Art of Animation: Little Mermaid room

WHO: There were a lot of characters that made appearances during this trip! Myself, my now husband Mike (who hasn’t been to the world since he was 12 and he is now 26), Mom (who you know from my many previous trip reports), Dad (his first trip EVER and first time to FL), Memere & Pepere (my grandparents whom are lovers of Disney & resided in FL for a few winters), Aunt (tagged along to help the grandparents), Mom-in-law & Dad-in-law (Mike’s parents), Brother & his gf (Mike’s brother and his gf tagged along for the journey too! It was her first time to WDW and they had a blast!)

Now everyone pretty much came in on the 18th and left on the 22nd (except us). The other characters will make appearances in a few places but I’ll only post a picture of us for now.

Mike and I right after we got engaged in Seabrook, NH on the Beach on August 12, 2012.

A little background on Mike and I and this decision before I begin…Mike and I have been together for almost 5 years now. We met in college through a mutual friend and the rest is history I knew there was something about him from the moment I laid eyes on him, and fortunately he felt the same about me. I did warn him about my Disney addiction way in the beginning & said if we get married it will be in Disney World. I guess he didn’t mind because well he let my dream come true! We were originally planning on getting married in March 2014, but since we were both already out of school and had full time jobs…we figured why not sooner! So about 7 months before the big day in October…we decided to get married in Disney World in May! We were so excited to get planning and thought it was so far away! But my, did the time come very fast! Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy it!

Note: I did not take notes on this trip at all I was having too much fun to stop and write so this is going all from my pictures and memory!

The first 3 weeks of May are awesome for low crowd levels! Star Wars Weeeknds at DHS can get crazy, but other than that crowds are very low!

Awesome, thanks! That's one of the perks of being in college now is getting out for summer earlier which means beating the summer crowds!

OMG.. OMG.. OOMMGG!! I literally JUMPED out of my seat when I read the TR title and then saw that it was from YOU! I GOT SO EXCITED! Your TR is amazing so far, keep up the great work (as usual ). How wonderful that must've been to share your first Disney experience with your (then) fiance on your wedding trip! I find it hard to believe you only made it onto Tower once! I have a magical experience to tell you about that happened to us on our trip with the tower, but I'll get to that in my TR How cool that you guys had an empty Fantasmic! I can't believe how long it took you guys to get thru TGMR! Our car went slow thru the alien part when we went on it and I hated that cause that's my lease favorite scene haha! Did you find that the crowds were lower because of the time of year you guys were there? My mom and I are looking at going in May next year hoping that the crowds will be lower!
AH I can't wait to read more! You and your husband are sooo adorable and I love seeing all the pictures of you guys together, you look so happy and in love! Epp ok sorry I'll stop with all the mushyness!

hahahaha Thanks!!!! It was really great experience. And I know! The few other times we tried the line was too long to wait, but that's okay I will totally make up for it next month! And I can't wait to hear about your magical experience! What could it be??? I don't get any hints?!?!?! Ugh I've always hated that Alien scene too, but for some reason everytime someone mentions that ride that's all I think of then I start reciting in my head the words at that part....LOL. Crowds were definitely lower (well besides for SSW at DHS) I would definitely go again in May! But I would avoid Memorial Day weekend...that was crazy. And thank you!!!!!!

Sunday May 19th

We were up bright and early at 645 and out the door by 715 to catch a bus to the Magic Kingdom!

Our bus came right away and we were at the Magic Kingdom right after 730! We waited in line a bit for it to open.

Disney ducks!

We were let in about 750 into an empty Magic Kingdom! I love these kind of mornings! And yep you guessed it…tears welled up in my eyes the moment we walked up Main Street hand in hand and saw the castle…

Our reservations weren’t until 830 so we took quite a few pictures in front of the castle.

It was about 810 so we decided to check in early!

While we were waiting in line there was this awesome photopass photographer who was manning the line, she was the sweetest and funniest lady ever. She told Mike he was the white George Clooney!!!

It was finally our turn to meet Cinderella!

As soon as we finished taking our picture, our name was called and our table was ready! We had an awesome window view to boot!

The menu…I don’t remember these the last time I came

Snow White was up first and she asked me if Mike sang to me. I told her of course he did

Aurora was up next.

Ariel came by after and was her peppy usual self!

Jasmine was last to come by and the only one who asked me if it was okay to hold onto my Prince’s arm. Haha

Our waiter was very nice and took a picture for us!

He also thought that my button said it was my birthday, but then he realized we both had them and were celebrating our coming marriage. We all had a good laugh and he let me keep the cupcake anyways I apologize I forgot to take pictures of our food here, I was just so excited to meet the princesses!

After a great breakfast it was time to hit the Kingdom with full force!

We started heading onto New Fantasyland since the park had just opened! Construction on the Mine Train is coming along good!

Will be eating dinner here way later in the trip!

Attempt number 2!

Our first ride together in the Magic Kingdom??? You probably guessed it! Little Mermaid!!!!! No pictures inside, wanted to enjoy it together

We decided next to go meet Ariel in her flippers! Is it just me or is it really weird that they have Ariel in the castle and at her Grotto at the same time????? We loved Ariel much better in her Grotto. We made conversation with the character attendant Jonathan I think was his name. He was from Jersey so we had a little Red Sox-Yankees rivalry going on. Our interaction with Ariel was great. She took the time to talk to us about where we were getting married and when, we told her about the Boardwalk and she said it was so beautiful over there and when we said we would be watching the fireworks she said it was her and Eric’s favorite thing to do every night It was so cute. One of my favorite character interactions this trip!

We headed back into Fantasyland and went for a ride on It’s a Small World!

When we got out I noticed on the clock that the numbers that were together made our wedding date: 05-21.

We continued on into the Tangled bathrooms!

We continued on our way and went for a ride on the Haunted Mansion!

We went through the Graveyard queue since Mike hadn’t seen it.

We headed back towards the hub to head out of the park.

We had our own bus back to the resort!

We went through International Gateway (can I add here I love going through there) and already saw evidence of the Flower and Garden Festival topiaries!

Our World tour began in France…

Morocco came next; followed quickly by Japan!

We continued onto the America Pavilion to visit Lotso!

Meanwhile over in Italy…Lady and the Tramp were having a moment

Snow White and the dwarfs were off to work in Germany!

China was up next!

It was getting pretty hot and we took a break and headed inside to watch the Circle Vision 360 show. I had actually never seen this before so it was nice to share something else new with Mike! I actually really liked it! I thought it was really cool to learn some history of China!

On the way out we saw some Pandas!

Over in Norway we had some troll friends to visit!

And saw some monsters at the entrance to World Showcase! (btw I LOVED MONSTERS UNIVERSITY)

We found ourselves at the front of the park and we took a spin on Spaceship Earth!

When we got off of Spaceship Earth it had begun to rain, so we booked it into Mouse Gears to shop around. I bought two Park Starz vinyls which ended up being the Tower of Terror Bellhop (which is the one I wanted) and the hitchhiking ghost from the Haunted Mansion! We walked around the whole store and it was still raining out. We didn’t take our ponchos..the rain was actually welcoming. We hoofed it across the way and went into Club Cool. It was Mike’s first time here and I made him try Beverly…oh how I wish I had my camera out. It was in my bag in a ziplog baggie so I didn’t want to go through the hassle of taking it out in the rain. From here we said screw it, we’ll just walk in the rain and headed towards Nemo and Friends. Have I ever told you how much I can’t stand this ride? I love the queue but hate the ride. Plus we had annoying kids on the side of us that made it 10x worse. Mike didn’t care for it too much either. So we headed on into the Land Pavilion for a ride on Living with the Land.

After our ride, it had finally stopped raining so we headed on towards Journey Into Imagination…would you believe we actually waited 15 minutes for this ride??? I’ve never EVER had to wait for this.

We headed on over to Test Track to see what the wait times were like there on the way we saw some Lions!!

The wait time for Test Track showed 80 minutes. We decided to stay because I really really wanted to do it and we weren’t sure when we would get another chance. We were hoping the wait time actually wasn’t 80 minutes.

I seriously love the queue, they have cool concept cars in there. I love this stuff.

After about an hour which was less than what the wait time had said, we made it to the Design Studio!!!!!! Mike was smart and let me take over the designing (Engineer over here) while he took the pictures!

Overall, it was nice to have Test Track back. My favorite part was designing your car and being able to see how it performed during the ride and the overall in the end. The ride itself hasn’t changed. I haven’t really decided if I like this design better. But my car performed awesome! As of that time it was the most efficient car of the day! Success!

We headed back through to World Showcase because we wanted to take a break at the Boardwalk. But not without a few pictures on the way!

We hung out for a bit where I opened those Park Starz figures I mentioned before.

Somewhere around this time my in-laws arrived and dropped off my dress and a few other things they took down with them for us. Everyone was now here!

We started to get hungry, and we wanted to eat over at the Magic Kingdom at my favorite counter service restaurant so off we went!

I had gotten a text from my Memere and Aunt saying they had grabbed seats on the train station to watch the parade and fireworks. We stopped by for a bit and chatted and continued on our way. I snuck a picture when we went down. My Pepere is the guy with the blue shirt towards the right, next to him is my Memere in the purple shirt and my Aunt right next to her eating the ice cream. They don’t know I took this picture haha.

Columbia Harbor House chicken nuggets and fries were on the list for dinner!!!! MY FAVORITES.

After dinner we started making our way towards Tomorrowland passing Tangled bathrooms and the castle along the way…

When we got into Tomorrowland, we started heading towards Space Mountain to see what the wait is…only to find out that it was broken down! I got so excited that I started running towards the PeopleMover because I wanted to see Space Mountain with the lights on sooooooo badly!!!!!! And I finally got to for the first time!!!!! It was one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen!

After a spin on the people mover we headed out of Tomorrowland to grab my favorite spot for Wishes. Right on that little walkway off to the side that connects Tomorrowland and the entrance to the hub.

Finally it was time for the Celebrate the Magic show, which I LOVED! The Walt scene makes me cry! Wishes was AMAZING as well, and I cried my eyes out while standing next to Mike, since it was the first time he was seeing them. I just couldn’t believe this was all happening. Sorry no pictures of the fireworks, I just wanted to enjoy them.

After wishes we had plans to meet up with Courtney (@Howe )and her husband and her brother as well over in Frontierland! It was so nice to meet them in person and I can’t wait to see her again on the UnOfficial WDWMagic Girls Cruise! and I can’t believe we didn’t get a picture here…we need to change that in September!

Mike and I had a mission now….to conquer the Magic Kingdom mountain range in 2 hours…..could we do it??? First up….Big Thunder Mountain Railroad…wait time 20 minutes…..but it was more like 10.

We walked by all the interactive queue elements…they looked like a lot of fun! I love this new sign though!

We got off in no time and before we knew it we were getting in the non-existent line for our second mountain…Splash Mountain!

I guess we’re the only crazy people here…

Fighting the 11:00 MSEP crowd, we headed into Liberty Square and onward to Tomorrowland!

We made it into Space Mountain which had a 40 minute wait? It was pretty long…there was a group of college students from somewhere who began chanting every once in a while and high fiving everyone when we zig zagged through the queue. It wasn’t bad though, it was actually pretty funny. We made friends with a nice family from Alabama too! It’s always fun making friends with people in line!

After what seemed like forever, it was definitely the 40 minute wait…we were boarded and I was in the first seat!

We made it out with about 10 minutes to spare….and we had officially conquered the Magic Kingdom mountain range one right after the other in 2 hours! It was so much fun. We grabbed a popcorn and sat in front of the castle for a little bit and enjoy the atmosphere.

We walked back down Main Street and ended our second day in the house of the mouse. Got back to the Boardwalk and hit the sack to get ready for another day…..an early one at that…because we had Family portrait pictures just the two of us tomorrow!
