You think people will stand in line? That's probably wishful thinking. But at least those who enjoy the show will be happy for its return. Something family oriented for everybody, that's the goal, right?

Yeah I think it will be just like Capt Eo, the first few weeks will have good numbers then it will drop right back down to the same point where UNM was and people who know that the Tiki Room is will go in and random families will go in due to the AC. Not saying the show will be UNM, but it will not draw a crowd.

They need to remove some of that foliage so guests can see others standing in line and realize there is an attraction there.

No, the sign is very bright and pops enough to attract people. Adventureland needs as much foliage as it can get—you're on an adventure.

It will be advertised heavily for a few months.

I wonder why it wasnt even mentioned in the new Mickey Monitor, someone missed the boat there. Maybe it will be on the cover of the park guide maps?

It won't matter - this is the typical return of a classic attraction. People are appalled that it's gone and then don't see it when it returns. Disneyland sees this all the time, and that resort caters more to these types of fans.

Don't get me wrong, this is an improvement - but if I see the Tiki Room more than twice over the next ten years, I'd be surprised.

Wow, if I see it any LESS than TWICE A DAY over my next SEVERAL full day visits to the park - and less than at least once a day per MK visit after the initial excitement dies down - I'd be surprised! ;)

It will probably even be a "rope drop" attraction for me on many days, giving me some rare starts in Adventureland. (I usually start in Fantasyland, Space Mountain, or the Thunder/Splash/CBJ combo)

This is a Really Big Thing for me, and the return of the original show vaults the Tiki Room strongly back into my MK Top 5 (even though I didn't hate UNM as much as most here did, and that show hovered near the outer reaches of my Top 10 or 12 - but I had to cover my ears whenever Iago made fun of the original show in order to enjoy the rest of UNM, though ;) )

Having the beloved birdies back in all their original glory is, like for Puntagordabob, a Dream Come True for me!

And for me personally, it will help at least take part of the sting away from losing my beloved Toontown, and, while in the MK, help take my mind off the dark cloud hovering over my beloved Snow White ride, which is slated for closure.

I have to give "TDO" credit here, even if it did take a fire to make it happen! ;) I'm just thankful no guests or CMs were hurt.

I asked some randoms hanging out by the tiki room about what they felt about the re-opening and they were like, eh it's not a big deal, heh heh...

If our plan comes together and we visit WDW this fall I will visit the Tiki Room at least twice when I am in the MK. Probably 2-3 times on the first day. I plan to capture any detail of the show on video so it will need several visits alone for that task because I don't want any annoying background sounds on my video like screaming children etc.
A visit to Adventureland (my favorite land) will now be JC (or at least get FP), then Tiki Room, then PotC.

They don't need to remove the foliage. They need to remove the carpets. :brick:

So true. My favorite candidate for the category "Worst imagineering ever". Not only that the ride itself spoiled Adventureland Plaza, it causes congestions and the entire tiny aggrabah-section squeezed between colonial African style and SOUTH SEAS is a theming-overkill to the area that is abysmal.
I never did the ride either, it looks cheap and doesn't fit into Adventureland at all.

It eats alot of people though. Hub and spoke rides are very popular with kids and parents.

There was some "Queue line testing" today. The little bit of video that I was able to capture (could not work my iPhone with sweaty hands fast enough) can be found at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2yRMvrob9Y
The people in the line had worker vests on, like in the wall down photo.

Its great to hear that sound again, cant wait to read and see results on here as those doors open. Would be there myself but the dang season passes dont unblock till friday.

I know we have the seasonals to! I can't wait to go Saturday. It looks great and I'm sure it will be soooo much better than new management.

One of the best and cheapest improvements in all of WDW surely must be to simply remove the carpets when Dueling Dumbo's opens. It would restore the magic to an entire land.

The way of the wand for those carpets! Begone! :fork:
