The Dreamfinder rumor, from a slightly different source...

I had the pleasure of attending a panel at the recent Comic-Con in which Chuck McCann appeared. After the panel was over, I went to talk to him. He was nodding and smiling politely at the endless "I loved 'Far Out Space Nuts!'" comments directed toward him, until I approached and said that I was a big fan of the Dreamfinder. His face lit up and he immediately started doing the Dreamfinder voice for me! I was floored! I only wish I had my recorder going at the time.

When he was done, I told him how sad I was that Dreamfinder was gone. He replied, "I hear that he may be coming back." Then he said, rather emphatically, "And *I* should BE him!"

We were interrupted at this point so I didn't get to ask anything else. I know this doesn't prove anything, but I think it's pretty interesting that even he has heard about the Dreamfinder possibly returning. And I was pleased that he really wants to play the character again. I hope he gets his wish. It's a quarter of a century later, but he still does the Dreamfinder's voice exactly like he did all those years ago.

Now this story is a nice way to start your day!

The new JIYI could be perfect. The nostalgia of the Dreamfinder, voiced by the original, with new technology and other current ideas... YAY!! :sohappy:

Thanks for the post...I love Dreamfinder and Figment...
The original JII was one of my favorite rides at the original EPCOT. I hope they get rid of the current version.

Definitely gives you hope on Dreamfinder coming back to JII. The imagination pavillion needs a total refurb, or be totall rebuilt.

The gentlemen you met and posed with at the 25th Anniversary of EPCOT was the other voice of Dreamfinder... the guy who finished the ride soundtrack by matching what Mr. McCann had done in the first half and then went on to portray him for 5 years in the pavilion.

And I enjoyed meeting you, too.

Ron,

When Mr. McCann added that last sentence, I wondered whether he was speaking in general terms or was refering to you specifically. Given the accounts you've told about what happened back then, I was a bit surprised by how strongly he still feels about the character.

I didn't mean any kind of slam against you when I said that I hope Chuck does the voice again. I know that you finished the attraction's soundtrack, but I've got this weird sort of dichotomy in my head. When I think about the attraction, and the animatronics within it, I picture Chuck McCann and Billy Barty. When I think of the live Dreamfinder and Figment, I picture you. :)
