The plans have changed a little since I last reported the major details of the entire project, but the ride won't be wholly video based.

oh lord. All excitment I had for this project is now lost. Disney keeps replacing attractions with rides where you stare at video screens adn eventually people will get a clue and stop coming to see this crap. Especially with tickets at almost $80.

Just like the Mexico boat ride rehab. What a stupid, forced, quick fix

LOL I have to agree with that, well said. Also at the same time though those screens were all in there before except the one at the beginning and end, and I do hate the one at the end its cheapo looking, that fake stage. Id almost prefer the scary people on the strings riding around that out dated carousel.

But yeah it does look as if screens are the only way they are going with everything. Toy story mania came out pretty well I was very impressed and loved that. But yeah SSE is 50% lousy now. Hopefully Imagination will turn out to have true imagination like it once did and not just screens only.

and the seas has the same storyline, wheres nemo, mexico wheres donald, so imagineering has become lazy when it comes to storylines, why they didnt just do wheres judy dench in sse while they were at it i dont know :D

hahaha! Can't you just picture her standing in the background of every scene? "Where's Judy!?" "Look we found her in the stone age!" "Wait now she's in Rome!" "With the help of Siemens technology, Judy was able to travel back in time and learn about communication!"

lololol thats funny, and actually not too bad, it might have been better than how it is now. I would much rather have seen her pop up on the screen than the dumb clip art cartoons, or even an animatronic of her in the descent.

EDIT: Oh don't get me wrong, I loved TSM too but if that's an E-ticket then so is Star Tours [which I love]. And I don't think it was built for capacity, that line took forever! And it almost wasn't worth the wait after you've seen it.
TSMM is officially a D Ride - and one with a high capacity queue. It just wasn`t designed for Fast Pass. They know that now.

.

Honestly the mexican boat ride redo was so bad when my family got off the ride everyone was like "what...the...hell?" and we never went on since then. Instead of removing some of the video screens and making lush set pieces instead they add MORE tv screens and then put on a cartoon that barely has anything to do with Mexico and then remove anything remotely decent about the attraction (The catchy song, the finale, etc.)

I hope this Imagination refurb. I am sick of them ruining Epcot with Nemo and Donald. I had very high hopes for the SSE refurb and was dissapointed beyond belief.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with recent posts about the Mexico El Ria de Tiempo refurb.

I think it was a pretty good refurb for the $$ made availalble. It added a bit more color and pizazz back to a once very dull and boring attraction. Plus, its nice to see los Tres Caballeros back in action.

Pizazz: Yes
Not-Dull: sort-of-Yes
Relevant to Mexico: Barely, if at all.

I love Donald and the Three Caballeros are entertaining but, this attraction was half baked (better than JIYI and others, obviously, but still). It would of been better if they had just updated the films with new mythological scenes and modern day Mexico films.

The new scenes at the beginning dont' even match the sets.(Which were perfect for the ancient culture scene of El Rio Del Tiempo.)

Especially the ancient entrance tunnel/cave, it use to be real mysterious and specially lit. Now there is nothing and the video screen lights up the whole tunnel and you can see up into the ceiling. They didnt even bother to do anything with the walls and turned off the lighting effects. Very bad show now, just like with sse. Im guessing the same teams are working in these attractions because each one is being left unfinished or cheaply done and it shows.

As I said before in this and previous posts, the charges are hardly a reason for alarm. If anything, the newest plans are even better the previous ones (in my opinion).

I stated that this ride won't be wholly based around video (right now, I'm looking at 1-2 scenes estimated) since certain limitations on the ride building and its historical sediments are unable to be recreated or built back up, the scenes will be used for a sort of introduction (or reintroduction if that is how you want to look at it). The rest should be set-based, so no reason to fret.

:sohappy:

Wonderful news. I can handle a few screen scenes. Especially if there's plenty of sets and AAs elsewhere.

Yes no reason for us to fret about Imagination yet. I love that word fret lol. So far the upcoming Imagination sounds like it will have imagination and so keeping high hopes for it. True a couple screen scenes is okay. You mentioned introduction of some sort, I find that interesting. Sort of like after that introduction all of the sudden the screens lift up or we ride under them through fog and we enter and see the real land of imagination before us in splendorous surroundings. Thats just kinda how I see it in my mind.
