The Dreamfinder rumor, from a slightly different source...

It's more substantive than the vague blurbs Jedi typically posts. Sorry if I'm overly skeptical, I just can't recall a time he ever posted anything more than an extremely vague rumor. Anyone who reads Disney forums could just as easily post the same type of things. I doubt the veracity of his rumors as much as I doubt this new guy's.

I don't think there's anything wrong with being skeptical. Most of us are skeptical of Jim Hill, why wouldn't be of someone half that guys age? :animwink:

That's not to take anything away from Jedi, but I don't think there's anyway any of us (me included) ever have solid leads of any projects, until almost the day they're announced. Which is a good thing in my eyes, I like Disney surprises. :D

So why would you be reading the Rumors section when so many things have been announced here first?

By the way, JII v.3 was a Disney "suprise" as was the descent when SSE reopened. We knew about the cartoon thingy but not the chicken wire and dirt.....*SUPRISE*

Announced it a very loose term around these parts.

I said I like surprises, that doesn't mean I don't like to see how many rumors turn to truth.

oh lord. All excitment I had for this project is now lost. Disney keeps replacing attractions with rides where you stare at video screens adn eventually people will get a clue and stop coming to see this crap. Especially with tickets at almost $80.

Why would we want to watch something we could see at home? If they want to do it on video screens, then give us some webisodes or viral marketing or something. [Now that's an idea!] But what's the point of watching a bunch of video screens? That's just lazy. Just like the Mexico boat ride rehab. What a stupid, forced, quick fix. If they're going to do this rehab then please do it right because once we get a new version, we'll be stuck with it for a while.

Why has everything new been largely based on screen!?! Not just at Epcot, the last two big attraction we got, TSM and The Laugh Floor were just a bunch of screens! Very entertaining and interactive screens, yes, but not the most immersive experiences if you ask me.

If Imagination is just handled the same way it's similar dark ride rehabs at Epcot have been, [SSE and The Seas] I think we will all be very disappointed.

I totally agree and couldn't say it better myself.

yes it is the same team. I believe its the team that is ultimately headed up by Tom Fitzgerald who used to work in WDI Productions which did all the video work for attractions (like the vids in Alien Encounter, test track, etc. very prevelant in the 90s). So obviously his agenda is to gve them all the work instead of the imagineers that work on set design and AA's. His whole team really needs to either be reassigned or fired im sorry to say.

I hope they officially begin work on Imagination Pavillion this year.

That's unfortunate, but explains the attractions built recently.

I would fire NONE of them. The majority of the attractions that they've worked on actually great. If you weren't so one-sided in your feelings, you'd see that!

And most of the typical guests enjoy them anyway.

And stop bashing people like them just for the sake of bashing, which is exactly what fools like you are doing.

I would like a list of these great attractions. It would be interesting to see if I agree.

Maybe not him, but someone is. While it likely won't return in the same form after the Holidays (and the Superbowl), it may very well return in some capacity as a new concept--one which I'm a full supporter of; that is, if they can pull it off.

I heard two things tonight (from a questionable source):

1) Same concept but with a different name, theme, time period, and characters.

I don't like this idea. It makes no sense. The current one was/is still relevant. I could see this only working at Universal because if it opens at Disney, I want my familiar characters back whereas, I'd understand the change at Universal.

2) Move to Boardwalk.

I don't mind this one.

Adam, can you comment on these?

I really would like for it to stay in its current location with the BET turning into a restaurant/shop for the club.

A move to the BoardWalk would certainly be interesting...where would it go?

With how they ended the final night of the AC with the members going off on a "one-year safari", I could totally see a new Adventurers Club opening up at some point (not necessarily within the next year), and it's New Year's Eve, 1938. The club members return with all new adventures to tell about.

I'm sure they could figure out somewhere for it. It could take over Atlantic Dance or replace ESPN Club if it were to move to DTD Westside.

I love the idea of the AC taking over the ESPN spot. I think it makes perfect sense for them to build a complete state of the art ESPN Zone out in ESPN-Land (WWoS). The advantage of having the AC at the Boardwalk is you have tons of guests within walking distance but also easy access from Epcot. They would probably have to expand the building some but I guarantee they could sell out every night and make a decent profit off the concept.

And the ESPN Zone would be a great way to draw folks out to the new facilities they are building there.

We do know he was Show Writer-Producer of Star Tours and he did write the 94 SSE script which I think is the best piece of show writing in WDI history.

I've always been a huge Star Tours fan! And the script from the '94 Spaceship Earth is absolutely my favorite naration and is probably my favorite attraction soundtrack.

BUT....you have to continue top quality work to maintain your track record. You can't ride off your past work for too long. And all the video screen usage as of late is tipping the balance not in his favor.

1. I've heard of a different concept and theme for another venue but considering the popularity, marketability and of the previous club and its many aspects, Disney is likely going to milk the concept for all it is worth by expanding upon it. The one-year leave opens many new possibilities for new stories...

2. Not that I've heard.

Yes I could see them doing several AC-esque type shows around the resort. I've heard Poly, AKL and CSR as possible venues for this type attraction. The shows at the Poly and Fort W. prove the demand is there and not just from resort guests but also locals. The resort hotels are not exploiting all the possibilities for entertainment options that they could. I think that is changing though.
