The Dreamfinder rumor, from a slightly different source...

I'm curious to when they finally do a refurb of Imagination, will Figment be the curious and loveable Figment he was and not like the semi-annoying mischevious Figment we have now. I still remember going in '93 and seeing Journey into Imagination for the first time and loving Figment and also Dreamfinder.

I'm hoping the former (which fits Imagination better). Stitch has taken the place of the latter.

Yeah, me too. The attitude is completely different on the current attraction... much like a teenager that hasn't had a parental figure in his life for a long time. Oh Dreamfinder, please return. Your offspring needs you.

True story. I'm a die hard themepark/roller-coaster enthusiast and my wife and I made a pact when we started dating that we wouldn't make a trip to Disney until we were married. Fast forward several years and we decide to go to WDW for our honeymoon. I started visiting sites like this to plan our vacation and get caught up on the latest news about Disney. I researched every single thing possible about the resort... with one intentional exception.

I intentionally didn't look up anything about Journey into Imagination because it was my favorite memory from my childhood trips to the park. I wanted to see it again with the "eyes of a child". Big mistake.

I still vividly remember my first trip into the new queue line thinking "something's not quite right". Things looked different. I began to get worried. I had hyped my wife up for this magical little attraction with a really great "Disney-esque" message that was unique to this ride.

I can still see the look on her face when we exited the first time. Her disapointment couldn't begin to match mine. The new Imagination really wasn't very imaginary. It was cruel and so lacking the heart of the original. I didn't know what happened, so the history of the pavilion became my first research subject upon returning home.

Since that trip, I've been hoping that news of Dreamfinder's return would some day come.

Although the return of an "enhanced" version of the original would be perfect, I'll be happy with anything that reunites the father and his son. They really do belong together.

Video screens or not... as long as the Imagineers return the ride to the same heart and tone of the original, I'll be a happy camper. Although, I am secretly wishing that the new version uses the same audio from the original attraction, as it was perfect.

I would fire all of them. They have caused too much damage to WDI.:fork:

I would fire NONE of them. The majority of the attractions that they've worked on actually great. If you weren't so one-sided in your feelings, you'd see that!

And most of the typical guests enjoy them anyway.

And stop bashing people like them just for the sake of bashing, which is exactly what fools like you are doing.

That's not very nice, if I may say so. And somewhat annoying since I opened the thread expecting some new information pertaining to the Imagination pavilion rumors (especially being quite a thread bump) and not just a senseless attack.

Get with the bigger picture before you make statements like that...

Please, tell us what that "bigger picture" would be... Enlighten everyone as to how some fanboys have the wherewithal to even make such a claim for "firing them all." I would sincerely like to know why some forum dwellers feel they have the audacity to question the capabilities of those that DO the work, not just visit and enjoy it, take pictures or make cute little home movies of it. :zipit:

Yep, I visit, take pictures and make videos. And, I ENJOY it.

But, doing so does not make me think I somehow know more than those that actually build it... or fathom calling for them to be fired. ;)

You must be from the real backwoods to think that corporate decision makers are automatically super intelligent gods. The reason the economy and alot of these big american corporations are messed up right now is because of poor decision making on the part of people in charge. The fact that you are making subtle jabs at Marini also shows a lack of class and intelligence. But then again you wouldn't say the things you did if you had those two qualities.

 So, making jabs about "backwoods" and intelligence is ok, huh? :brick:

Again, please enlighten everyone about poor decisions that are worthy of someone being fired? Ground rules though, you can't use subjective criteria such as 'you don't like something'. Maybe the pessimism created by those that can't do or don't have is the crux of the issues... even ranging to the economy. Of course, that would probably drop into politics, so we won't go there. But, it's always interesting to see the "culprit" of all problems is usually directed at those big bad corporate executives.

I agree. It's all in the $$$...And the people that deal it out.And in this case not giving enough of it results in attractions that are less than stellar. Not horrible but not Disney quality.

Well...Yeah...They are the ones hindering the Imagineer's no?Or are you saying we should blame the imagineers for doing a crappy job? That sounds worse, IMHO.:lookaroun
