Trip Report The countdown just hit zero - We’re in Disney right now!

Greetings fellow Disney lovers and welcome one and all to this happy place. As the title suggests I am in Florida right now, living the dream

Some of you will know me but for those of you who don't let's have a quick introduction as my 17 night trip has already started. Yes you read that right - 17 nights - whoooooo. Hoooooooo.


Me - Tracey - I absolutely love Disney, my house is covered in Disney - my first night in POR will see me spending 300 nights in my favourite place - I live in a bubble and the outside world frustrates me in terms of horrible, violent people but that's another story and not one for my trip report.


Chris - my husband, best friend and my rock. We've been married for 21 years and we still laugh and joke with each other. He never wanted to go to Disney but now his hooked - love me, love Disney!


We're in Florida from the UK for our 21st trip - I am fortunate to be able to afford this every year but I'm still jealous of all my American friends who can get cheap flights over regularly (and this who now live here) - this trip alone with overnight at a hotel before our flight, car parking, Disney, Kennedy and Universal tickets, car hire and hotel cost us in excess of £4000


It's a substantial amount of money but hey, the amount of memories we create we really don't mind and why we can afford it we will go......

Here we are last year.

This TR might be a little different from my last 3 - I’ve previously done daily updating every night which at times has seen me spending all day in the park and then writing till well beyond midnight. Those of you who have done TR’s will know the time they take (it’s certainly a commitment but we all do it to share our stories and our love of Disney so others can live through it all and help with Disney blues or countdowns to their own trips)

I’ve not had a holiday or break from work since March so I just need to chill!


That said since I’ve been here I’ve been writing every day (but not posted) - so our trip - so far - will be easy to post (as I’ll just copy and paste) and add photos of course!


After that though who knows as we’ll be into the Disney park part of our holiday (more about that shortly)

We’ll just see what happens and and I’ll update when I can for those of you who want to read it!

We headed back home to get some lunch, have a wander around Riverside, do some washing and to face time the parents.

Haven't been back to Disney in three years (four summers). We visited London

and a few other sites, View attachment 243300 and Paris last November (this very week a year ago in fact). Had a great time. Planning to visit Europe again in summer 2019.

This past June, we drove from Pennsylvania to Kansas and back. In July, we flew to Arizona

Although we haven't been to Disneyland or Disney World, we've been busy!

Brayden are Maddy keep asking to visit again, so I'm sure we will be back. They are getting big. Brayden started HS and made the HS soccer team, but dislocated his knee after just three games. 10 weeks later, and he still has 4 weeks of therapy to go!

Maddy ran cross country this year for her MS. She did well! This is her in the lead.

Heading to Philly tomorrow to see the Dr. at Rothman. Brayden had hoped he'd be cleared, but PT said another 4 weeks. Basketball is shot, but he will be good to go for soccer and track in spring.

Thanks for the photos of Riverside! I'm staying there for the first time in June and I'm so excited. It looks like a beautiful resort

It is beautiful but having stayed here over 300 nights I’m a bit bias - you won’t be disappointed.

I thought they might - it made me smile too - I face timed my mum from outside our room and just kept telling her how much I love it here and I wasn’t coming back to the UK!

Tuesday 14th November

Warning! - get ready for quite a few photos!

I’m not going to list everything we’ve done today as I will literally be here forever - but the pictures with a few comments will show what anther fun day we’ve had

So off we go............

Our alarm went off at 6.30am - back in the UK my alarm NEVER goes off at that time - in fact the only time I get an early alarm is when we are getting on a plane to fly here.

It’s funny though that here when that alarm goes off you’re happy to get up as you know you have a full day of memories to make.

We were off to the Magic Kingdom for an 8am opening.

The bus came and left the West depot with every seat taken - I was surprised at how many people were going that early as when we went the other day at 9 it was emptier.

We arrive to a beautiful castle with a clear blue sky as the backdrop. I’d love to work in the Magic Kingdom to look at this every day.

I love how at the HM there was a fresh red rose on master graceys grave stone - also I asked a cast member about the thing between the track the other day and it’s nothing to do with the ride story - it’s to switch out buggies. So it wasn’t anything I thought it was - obviously I was mistaken in the dark.

We had the stretching room to ourselves with one other lady!

Also found the ring in the pavement

Next - you guessed it BTMRR

We maxed out on Buzz lightyear

Took a flight on Astro orbiter

I drove on Tomorrowland speedway - I don’t usually drive so Chris thought this was quite funny - he comments on my driving at home (I do drive fast and am not your typical female driver) - but he said he felt safe because I could only go on the track!

We went Under the Sea - and when we get to this bit I always make Chris “kiss the girl”(me) when it gets sung

We did a half loop on the Main Street railway and spoke to some ladies from Alabama who had been going round and round while their teenage children were on rides.

We watched the stage show at the Castle - Royal friendship faire.

We then went in search of ice cream before the parade.
We shared this one!

Found this in one of the shop windows - it’s a shame they don’t sell this - I’d have one!

I stopped for a quick selfie at the bubblegum wall

Created a lovely purple car on TT

Took a walk around World showcase and got caught busy the barges setting things up for illuminations

Went to meet Mickey and the gang but it was a pretty lack lustre meet and greet

And finished on spaceship earth - with an end scene we’ve never ever had before which was pretty cool.

And that ended our day!
The wind picked up outside, we didn’t want to do ROL or fantasmic - HEA isn’t on until tomorrow (which is where we are headed tomorrow night) and we watched illuminations last night.

So we’re having an early night as we’re headed to Universal tomorrow and then HEA tomorrow night.

Loving the BTMRR count. Our record is 7 times in a row one EME a few years ago. The last time round we did the whole thing eyes closed ... And were in fits of laughter by the end.

Been following along very quietly, but had to jump in and say your pics are fantastic, love the ears, and I would also certainly buy a Goofy Marley doorknocker to hang on my front door!!

Looks like you had a lot of fun driving on the Speedway! And also "playing" with your camera. I love seeing your experimental shots.
