I used to make a homemade one that my first mother in law gave me the recipe for...it was good, but I forgot the recipe =( I know it was burger, white vinegar, ketchup, brown sugar, yellow mustard, lemon juice, sweet relish, but I don't remember how much of what.
Now days one must watch ketchup and relish, mustard for HFCS:rolleyes::cautious: What is it with people measuring food

I cook a lot of recipes from 21 day fix. They have a really good turkey sloppy joe recipe! It’s not really easy but it’s one of the better homemade ones I’ve had.
I am guilty of loving manwich though. :(

Thank you for the tip. (By the way, I substituted bison for ground beef, which I do often. Ground turkey also sounds like a good idea, too. I always use ground turkey in my favorite chili recipe.) :hungry:

Figgy, what the heck is that?! Think we might as well all stop eating, period! :p

Edit:
Oh wait -- you used an abbreviation, and I just figured it out! :hilarious:

P.S.: I'm actually aware of it sneaking into a number of items, and buy an organic ketchup with only a little sugar (only). Same with the relish I found (non-organic, but just a little sugar). Wasn't aware of it popping up in mustard, though, so I'll keep an eye on that. Thanks.

@dryerlintfan , I just noticed a brand new suite available at Shades of Green. (Priciest accommodation they have over there -- $469 a night.) I know it's too big for you and A, but thought you might like to see it. (I put the link below.) It's really nice. Even the dining room seats 8-10 people.

I go with the LWYC system of food consumption. I decided long ago that it is very iffy that there are any other lives in our future, so I live and enjoy the one that I am in. Unless it is something that can cause instant death, I will not rule it out. Almost everything labeled as "healthy" is way less tasty then stuff that is considered unhealthy. Those that argue with that are just defending their own decision and it isn't necessarily based on fact. So I ask the question to my "no carb daughter" which life are you planning on enjoying? I could be wrong, but at some point all of us will be the same degree of dead and there are no guarantee's that we will really live longer by depriving ourselves of things that are enjoyable.
Live While You Can
To clarify, that doesn't mean that I purposely overdo it on those things, just that I don't overindulge in them. I eat red meat, because I like it, but it isn't every meal, I also consume pork, chicken and fish three times more often then beef.
I try not to overdo carbs, but will not deprive myself of pasta or rice or thick crust pizza. When it comes to rice, in particular, entire Asian civilizations lived long and prospered eating rice as a staple in their diet. My daughter, honestly, carried the no carb deal to an extreme. She lost friends because she would try to convince them that carbs were to blame for everything including afternoon and evening thundershowers. Everything, headaches, obesity, high blood pressure, depression, etc. She was on a one woman campaign to make them follow her. It didn't work, she would get angry and lose friends. That's how extreme it got. She is still following that belief and has packed on a lot of weight. When she first started she lost weight and then it went the other direction. Obesity is not what you eat it is how much of it that makes the difference along with metabolism.
I know that I just did a lot of judging and amateur preaching, but, I didn't know how to put that in fewer words. People are free to do whatever they feel is the right thing for them. I just don't know how to point out my feelings without getting overly wordy.

The regular rooms are huge and sleep 5. All 4 of us survived 3 nights with all our gear for the month in there.
