Just curious -- anyone traveling for Thanksgiving? Been watching the various weather reports for the country and a lot of inclement weather this week. Not ideal for either flying or driving. (We just go to a restaurant close to home, so no big travel plans.)
If we don’t go to our DDs house, we will go to my Mom’s. So travel either way. Not fun with all the traffic.

My heart goes out to all the people who travel this week, regardless of weather. When I watch the news and see the long lines at the airports, etc., that must be exhausting for people, just trying to get home for the holiday.
My aunt came in on Friday. She said it took ten minutes to go through security in Charleston. BWI was crowded. They were actually letting you park for an hour for free in hourly, which is unusual, I guess so fewer people were pulling up into the loop of doom. It was nice to just be able to park and camly load the car instead of pulling up and doing the mad shove of stuff in the car.

Last night was a lot of fun, but WOW did I notice the difference between boys and girls.😂
We went with 4 9 year old boys and 4 11 year old girls.. the girls took cute, fun, photos, and were sweetly skipping and dancing around the park. The boys were pushing each other and just general chaos when trying to take their photo. One of the girls very accurately said “boys are weird.”🤣

All of the kids went on the Zephyr, which looked absolutely miserable to me, so I passed, as did the other adults. We did all go on Mystic Timbers together.. that was cold!!!!..but a fun experience.
T, another one of the boys, and 3 girls also did several of the rides in Planet Snoopy.lol. The ride operators were kind and had fun with it. (Our kids were the only people on the rides at that time) The whole thing was so cute. It was nice seeing these kids have fun on the little kid rides actually.

A few Winterfest pics..

It took me about 20 minutes on Thursday afternoon. They were walking us 2 at a time past a sniffing dog....

For something a little different here, I was looking at a few photos I took recently on a chilly, cloudy day (maybe an hour before it started to rain). There wasn't a person out that afternoon, at the pond that I often go to. Anyway, I veered off into the woods and when I returned back toward the pond, I could hear Frank Sinatra songs off in the distance. 🤔

Hmm . . . no one here --

O.k. Kept walking along . . . and there he was. By himself, with his fishing rod and American flag --

He was an elderly veteran, enjoying his fishing hobby while listening to Frank Sinatra tunes. Doesn't get much better than that.

I'm glad you found the source to the Frank Sinatra thing, cause for a minute there I thought you had gone over the edge.

We always host. We'll have a record this year, eleven people.

I just left parent teacher conference.

I didn’t even realize that T still qualified for First Honors due to his GPA. I thought it was only for straight As.
I’m THRILLED!!

I called him immediately and told him, he said casually “Yeah, mom, I already knew that.”

Ummm..
“Why didn’t you tell me??”
😂

With all the renovation work.. wouldn't it be cheaper to just buy a new house? XD
I mean, it sounds like you rebuilt that house already!
I think you would run into that with old houses. I grew up in an old house and saw what my dad did.

My parents own a house that was built in the 1920s and has been in the family since it was built. This is a house with a basement, 1st floor and 2nd Floor. The Garage is not connected to the house unlike new houses.

I saw my dad work on the house multiple times through the years and save the family lots of money. While my dad worked in the electrical field at a utility company, you would selling his talent short from a trade standpoint. My dad to this day even does changes to the house despite being in his 60s now with arthritis in his knees and hands.

My dad replaced windows around the house, did some changes with parts of the plumbing, changing floor tiles, replacing concrete, replacing Windows, rebuilt back porch and front porch, and I think he was the person who added Styrofoam ceiling for parts of the house.
