Well, I had quite the night tonight. I left school and I was driving to my dr appointment for a check up. As I got closer I crossed some railroad tracks, that's when I hear a crack/pop. Oh no! I was about 8 miles from the dr and 8 miles from home. I pulled over as soon as I found a safe spot and yep, my tire blew! Ugh. I called AAA and scheduled a tow then called hubby. He left work (had kids at the afterschool program) and came to drive me back from where my car was going to be towed in case they couldn't fit me in tonight. The two was to arrive at 5pm, I called at 4pm. While we were waiting a few minutes after hubs came a very nice guy came stopped to help and he said he could put my spare on. Great! He started working and hubs told me to cancel the tow truck.
Well, the tire wouldn't come off the car. The guy got extra tools from his truck. It wouldn't budge. He and Brad worked for about 30 minutes in that time I decided to call for a tow again as it wasn't looking promising for the spare to be put on. Anyway, we thanked the guy for trying to help and now the tow was scheduled to arrive at 6pm. Ugh. Hubs was getting antsy to get back to church, Wednesday is busy with afterschool program, confirmation and worship. Luckily some church members drove by and drove him back to church so I could have his car after the tow. Then as I was waiting for the tow a teacher friend of mine I had also called to drive Brad to church. stopped and waited with me so I didn't have to wait alone on the side of the road. So tomorrow, hubs is going to deal with my car and tires. Such a hassle and when I called the dr to tell them I couldn't make it today they were sympathetic about my tire but couldn't reschedule me until November 20th, unless I wanted to take time off of work.
Oh well, at least I'm safe and overall my car is fine too. But in the two hours I sat there only the one guy, besides the church members stopped to see if I needed help. I guess I can't blame people for not stopping to help, but it sure was nice of that guy. I will be saying a couple little prayers to bless him tonight.
Sorry about your tire! It's so hard to change your own these days... they put locking lugnuts on so you can't get them off yourself... and make it nearly impossible to do anything yourself anymore... ugh.
