Those stupid tickets were $25 a piece. Luckily my son was excited., but he does have a tween attitude about a lot of stuff these days.
Hopefully your brother thanks you at some point!

Yikes! Our theater has a movie club thing. Basically, you get one ticket a month for free, and you get 20% off concessions. You can get extra tickets for $8.99, no online fees. If you don't use it, it rolls over. It's $8.99 a month. I see enough movies that it's well worth it.
Well, I haven't been in like three months, so I had enough credits to get tickets for both of us, and I decided to upgrade for their XD version (basically just better sound and quality; but mostly because it was at the time I wanted). It was $6 for both of us.
He probably will thank me at some point. It will probably be after we see it. Could be a week afterward. We'll see.

I logged on within 5 minutes of when they went on sale.
I was shocked that so many seats were already sold. This was seriously within 5 Minutes. That many booked. I couldn’t believe it
Good thing I was on top of it though.. I reserved our seats and then checked out of curiosity about 2 hours later -
INSANE.

We haven’t seen any of the new ones in the theater. We just wait for them to come out on DVD/Blu Ray. I still love the original ones the best.

We make it into an event. Go for dinner first, and usually our closest AMC has Star Wars characters dressed up, interacting, and giving photo ops. We aren’t frequent movie goers, so it’s a nice night.
Sometimes we go to the one closest to us, but 2 years ago we went down to the Levy, which is in KY, but beautiful Christmas decorations and view of the city.
I’m just happy that it’s back to a December release!!! It didn’t feel like Star Wars when going to opening night in the spring

@MySmallWorldof4 , I was just thinking about your family. Your tickets alone would be $150. Plus concessions. And finding 6 seats together would be nearly impossible.

I would wait til the dvd as well! Being at home is more comfortable anyway.. and you can pause when need a bathroom break.lol. That’s why we don’t see many movies the convenience of being home, and I can barely justify the cost for 2, unless it’s something we really want to see. Outside of Star Wars there’s not many movies in that category.

Yeah. I always think a blu ray will cost $25-$29. The 6 of us going to a theater would be about $50. (Tickets here are cheap). They get you at concessions. It makes more sense to just wait. I enjoy watching movies at home sitting on the couch or laying in bed. It is not like when I was a kid and the biggest tv was 27”. Our screens at home are big enough. The bathrooms are cleaner too.
I make an exception for most Disney animated films and any Wizarding World film.

We’re at a weird place when it come to movies over the past year or so. T has no interest in going to the theater for disney movies- his response is always “No, I’m not a little kid mom”... but he will watch them when I buy the dvd. However, I still don’t allow him to watch Marvel movies (or anything similar) so there’s really nothing left for us to see.
I’ll probably allow all of the Harry Potter films sometime in the next 6 months, but I would prefer for him to read the books first. He’s only read the 1st one, and only seen the first movie.. maybe part of the second.
Coco is the last Disney (although Pixar) movie that he actually wanted to see at the theater, so we did go for that one. Now he thinks he’s too old

Youngest has seen all the Potter movies. She is reading the third book now. She is actually excited about reading them since she has seen all the films. I would say that T can watch without worry the first 3. Of course you have dementors in the third one, so I guess they can be kind of scary, but it is my family's favorite.I agree. I want to reread the books... I stopped at one point because one of the books was really dark and I struggled with it.

You can probably start him off with Spiderman before long. The Sam Raimi ones first. The Marvel ones are good too, but they have a bit of language. Into the Spider-verse is also really good. That one is animated. Common Sense Media recommends 9+ for that one.I agree. It’s a lot more relaxing at home, and definitely better restrooms.lol

I was trying to remember how old B was when he started watching super hero movies. Then I remembered it was when I started watching them, which was when I was a college freshman, other than the Incredibles. It's the younger sibling curse. They don't watch their own stuff; they watch whatever their older sibling watches. Hence why he's very familiar with High School Musical.

I wait for the DVD release of movies. Whatever I want to see (and there aren't many), Target usually has the (DVD) on sale. With the price of movies in theaters now in my area, they're about the same (sale) price as a DVD from Target.
Haven't been in a movie theater in years, as I got tired of people in audience turning on their phones during the movie and being distracted by the bright screens in seats in front of me -- let alone, the people that actually take calls during a movie?!
Nope, would rather watch at home with hubs and the dog. Only thing I miss is the concession stand!
