Having other parents you can relate to and who aren’t too competitive with each other is great. I cannot say the same sadly. I get along great with a couple of parents on my kid’s team. The other parents, eh. One is super annoying. She thinks her could should be the center of everything. There are 4 girls who can be flyers on the team, mine being one. Mine happens to be like a rubber band and is super flexible. Hers is not. The coach just added some skills to the pyramid stunt for my dd to do, which she can do fine. Last practice she missed said skill, and right away this mom says, K cannot hit that so the coach should take it out. I guess she missed the last bunch of times she did get the skill? I didn’t say anything. I try and ignore it and then watch her daughter screw up a few times in the routine. I don’t say a word. This is a team sport, if she wanted her kid to stand out so much, she should have had her on the gymnastics team. I actually get along better with those parents because there is no competition between them. I know one mom who won’t even watch practice because she cannot stand the “talk” among some. I could say something to the head coach, but I do not want to open a can of worms. I feel it better to just let it go and pray that my kid can succeed in her skills so that mom can eat her words. I know the coach wouldn’t have my dd do a skill she could not do. What that mom didn’t bother to realize was, if the bases are not properly doing their jobs, she doesn’t get in the right position to do hers. Whew. Got that off my chest. :)
Is K your daughter or hers? Was she saying that if her daughter couldn't do the skill, no one could? Or was she pointing out that your daughter missed the skill and assumed that her missing it one time meant that she couldn't do it at all? Either way,:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:. DS used to have a classmate whose mom drove me nuts. She was always putting me down while trying to make herself out to be perfect. She'd say "I noticed A doesn't have a large vocabulary.....you should have him hang out with Tim. Tim has a very extensive vocabulary and can teach A a lot." or "Yes, I spoke English with A because I know he's bilingual and I speak English really well. A probably felt comfortable speaking to me in English because I'm very open with kids, and they sense that about me. People are always telling me their kid opened up to me, even when they don't usually open to people they don't know well." Or "I don't understand why Tim wasn't allowed to skip a grade. I know he missed the cut off with his birthday, but he's very bright and they should have made an exception for him." (A was a year younger than Tim, and had been allowed to move up with Tim's class because his birthday was in December and the cut off was the end of December. So he made the cut off, and if Tim had made the cut off, he would have been a year ahead of A, and she was upset that A was allowed to move up a grade when Tim wasn't.) She's also the one I'm sure I mentioned once that I watched him one afternoon and he ran off on me and ran into the street without looking, and she thought it was so cute and said "Yes, he's very independent! He walked out the other day and walked to school by himself without even telling me! I was looking all over the house for him and finally went to check the school and there he was!" and she thought that showed that he was wise beyond his years. There are just parents out there who I guess think that they need to prove they are better parents and so they have to promote their own children and try to make everyone else look bad in comparison.

Dear Harry Potter geeks:

I watched Crimes of Grindewald and I have two questions.

1. Why is Credence a Dumbledore? Doesn't make sense.

2. Why does he have a phoenix?

3. Why do you need to go through a security person (Dover!!!) to leave the country but you can come back in anytime?

1. That's what we've been debating. You can't take anything at face value with JK, and we know Grindelwald will lie to get what he wants, and what he wants is Credence. We don't know for sure that he's a Dumbledore or that he's not. I've seen theories about it. People think Kendra had an affair when her husband was in prison for torturing the muggle boys who tortured Ariana, and that Credence is a result of that affair and therefore a half sibling. I have my doubts about that, but until JK confirms it, I'm not convinced.

2. He was nursing a baby phoenix...that doesn't necessarily mean he's a Dumbledore. Even if Dumbledores DO have a connection with phoenixes, phoenixes are magical creatures and he could have just found one. Remember Harry was able to call Fawks in the chamber of secrets, and Harry is not a Dumbledore. Perhaps Grindelwald was able to get ahold of one and plant it near Credence, knowing it would strengthen his claim that Credence is a DD. Hagrid has a 3-headed dog, and had a dragon for a time....owning a magical pet doesn't say a whole lot in most cases.

3. I'm not sure what you mean by needed a security person to leave. Newt had a travel ban, so he couldn't go through the normal channels of international travel. But when he came back, he had sort of cleared his name to an extent and had done a great service to the ministry by helping in the aftermath of the Grindelwald rally. He came back with that whole group of Aurors...so technically he had several security people when he entered. If that's not what you are referring to, then I'm not sure what you mean.

Monkey Business, MonkeyBusiness, Monkeybusiness...?!
Nope, it's not a major brand...I couldn't find it on google and I know the company name. It's probably not something you'll be able to find. I just don't want to get in trouble for putting questionable material on a family site. The name isn't important anyway....it's just ridiculous that they didn't think to ask the one native speaker for input in how it would come across. They aren't very smart about those things...one of the brands we sell (The Future is Ours) made a sweatshirt....we got a return with a complaint once because on the shirt were several images and little bits of text. Kind of like....in comic strips you have the hero in a fight and it says "Crash! Boom! Hiss! Slap!" or whatever...and this shirt had little words and phrases in between all the images. So it would say things like "Born to be wild" and "ready to rumble" etc....but it also said something completely inappropriate for a child's shirt....a phrase that is also the title of a 2 Live Crew song that was censored on the radio when I was a teenager. That one I'm sure you can find...but we got a complaint about it, and our buying team just said "The Future is Ours is known for its sassy phrasing on shirts". That's not just sassy, that's downright dirty!! They apparently don't care what's appropriate and what's not.

My current temperature is only 10 degrees colder than Orlando:joyfull: The more I think about it the more I miss central Florida and yes I love the parks but I just like everything about the area except the traffic and that's what side roads are for;)

I do that with main roads here too. My own little bypassing

It is 38 degrees and cloudy.

Add small can tomato paste, red wine and enough water to make sauce to cover pasta thicken with slurry of tapioca or corn starch add 3lbs frozen spinach. Pour over 3 pounds pasta and 3 pounds steamed broccoli. Salt pepper and ped pepper flakes to taste.

Thanks. I going to try that.

Yes. And thank you. I have to wrap the bottoms so all the veggies don’t fall out on plate before I can gobble it up.

Well, to be fair, Europe, and the Netherlands in particular are a lot more relaxed. The US is known for being prude/conservative, so what we consider inappropriate and what Europeans consider inappropriate don't always match up. But if you are wanting to market to the US, you have to pay attention to what the average consumer there wants.
