While I was at work tonight, DH said he heard a bunch of sirens and thought the police were at the neighbors again, but it turned out to be ambulances and a trauma helicopter. I looked it up and a little boy fell out of a window (it's not clear how) while visiting family and they had to do a "scoop and run", which I've never heard of. So I guess they decided the kid was in serious enough trouble that they needed to get him help immediately, without waiting until they could get to the hospital. So they brought in the trauma heli, and an ambulance transported him to a place where the helicopter could land, and then one of the trauma doctors got into the ambulance to treat the kid on the way to Nijmegen. So sad....I hope he's ok! It didn't sound like they life flighted him, so I guess that's good, even though they are taking him to Nijmegen. But I'd have thought it would be faster to just use the Helicopter since it was right there.

Good morning, and Happy New Year! I got back from the desert in time for snow, rain, freezing drizzle. Even though it was cold in AZ and Vegas, at least it was dry. Nice to be back home with the pup, though. It is funny how much I miss the little fuzzy girl.

By the way, @Mr Ferret 88 , I hated Vegas. After getting full body pushed in the crowds, I was ready to go back to our room. Where we were serenaded by loud techno music until 5am. Not sure where it was coming from, as we were on the 25th floor. Nice view of the strip, and could see the Bellagio water show from our room window.

Oh, that's too bad. Any time I've been to Vegas, I loved it. But none of the trips were around any major holiday,, so I'm assuming the crowd level and noise must have been much worse for you. Glad you're back home anyway and had a safe trip.

I don’t think I would ever get a brand new car again. Our Suburban was a dealer car and had 6,000 miles on if and they took an extra $6,000 off the price. On top of that it was already discounted.

That’s great!!! I’m a huge fan of leasing because of how quickly cars depreciate.

I’m optimistic that I’ll probably do well when I eventually trade this car in (your Suburban will too)... Wranglers don’t depreciate too much, unless you add a bunch of options.. the original owner already took the hit on that.. so I should be good from start to finish! Now I just have to plan a cool road trip for us. ;)

Ok I need advice on our upcoming WDW trip please. We are thinking about doing the Disney after dark. We have two options that week-HS or MK. It is $125 each plus free snacks and drinks inc. plus a lot of rides. Should we and which park would you do? Thanks guys for your feedback..😊

I think you should do whatever makes you happy. If an upcharge event is up your alley, then go for it.

As for deciding between HS and MK, you know your family's preferences best. All I could add here is that if you wanted to enjoy the new Toy Story Land without waiting long times (during a regular day visit) to get on Slinky Dog, etc., then pick that park as your upcharge night.

Yet, MK is the best all-around park, and has more attractions. So if you went at night, you'd have many more options.

Gah... trying to get a hold of my TA to change my 2019 to Sept to get free dining... it's in my cart... trying to decide if I should pull the trigger, and have disney let her take it over, or if she has to change my existing reservation... but I know she is on the phone with Disney and not responding on facebook.. What to do, what to do

Is it this sites’s agency?

I checked this morning and it said she hasn't posted since April.

I think many of us have reached out to MOXOMUMD, whether here or via PM. As long as she's o.k., that's the main thing. I respect her privacy, for whatever reason she had for exiting. It's difficult when someone vanishes without any indication, but , sometimes people might have reasons they are uncomfortable sharing. I wish her and her daughter well.

I'm sure each dealer has different rule for leasing. I've always wondered if there any damage to the car, if you're under a lease agreement, do you have to get it repaired to factory specs? In other words, when you own your own car and if it's in a minor accident, you may or may not get the damage fixed to "as good as new" if you didn't want to pay as much. (Even with insurance, most people have a fairly high deductible.)

So my question is with a leased vehicle, do you have to turn it in (say, after a 3-year or whatever lease) in perfect condition?

It will draw more people into the land but I don't think and hope it won't impact the areas that have been there for quite a while. They'll also have emh, GAC and unlimited EP so I'm sure they'll manage to get through everything ok in mid-late August
And people hoped Peter Pan and Small World would be walk ons and clear up the crowds in old Fantasyland when FLE was added. That didn’t go as planned.

I'm guessing there would be very high crowd levels at major tourist spots for the new Year although I never went to Vegas due to what happened to my aunts. My aunts flew to California for a tour that including see the Rose bowl Parade in person. They also seen the Rose Bowl Parade Floats the day before the parade being worked on.

I know my aunts were complaining on the phone the places the tour bus took them were extremely crowded on December 31st besides the Rose Bowl parade floats area.

I don't know how the 1st was for them. I'm sure I would be hearing about it soon since they arrived back today.

No not at all! If you wreck it then you just claim it to your insurance, same as if you bought it. Most Americans don’t pay cash for a new car, so the bank owns the vehicle anyway. Avg loan in the US is now at almost 75 months.. many people trade in their car before it’s ever paid off, and never actually own it. The difference with a lease is you’re just paying the depreciation... and less taxes, and GAP insurance included at no additional charge.

A lease and loan are more similar than many think.. you can trade the car in at any time (like I do), or you can buy it yourself if you want to, and then “own” it.
