Day 2 PART 3. (no photos)

After finishing the trek, we decided to go back as it was getting dark.
We went quickly to the church that my mom's friend goes.. to meet the person who is willing to rent me his basement apartment for very cheap (1 room, 1 living room and 1 full blown kitchen with fridge and private bathroom and entrance).

We talked a bit, used the time for a quick pit stop and we went our way towards the house we rented.

We planned and prepared to purchase tickets for Victoria and Butchart Gardens.. Its quite a bit of planning and involving at least 200 CADs per person.

The next day, We got picked up again by my mom's friend not so early. And we had more time to eat food in downtown vancouver in a more slow pace than yesterday.

Once done, It was time to leave me 1 hour and half before the english test.

It was the same building as before.. but this time It had a biiig line waiting.
So decided to go for a pit stop and got inline in time for them to be called in.
We were reviewed one by one, removed all our extra stuff, we got scanned, reviewed and our photos taken.. and everything else got inside a locker.
Then we were assigned a seat one by one and we were told to wait.
The room was completely booked, I think there were around 60 computers in the room, all full when we were starting the exam.

The first parts written areas were complex but not that hard to understand. Mostly explanations about news and science stuff. Then we had to answer some obfuscated questions designed to confuse.
Example, provide 3 informations, then you are asked the negative of these 3 informations provided. or the "general opinion" of a third party person interviewed later on.

Then was writing. Which was mostly related to "write an email to complain about X service".

Third was the listening part, where they did show pure voice, or videos.. and then they asked questions.
Some questions were a bit more complex to understand as they were of the "obfuscated" type.

And the nightmare. Only 2 people were in the talking phase when I started.. and I was very nervous.
Worse when the headphones blocked my ability to hear myself, therefore it gets hard for me to modulate my voice strength.
This was getting my more nervous anxious until I was in an anxiety attack (shacking, sweating, trying to control my voice the best I could) while trying to concentrate and explain/describe what the scenes were (a scene of a break room in an office, with people chatting, an accident of food, etc..) the other was trying to be the bad and good sides of complaining about a very poor service of a waiter and if giving her a tip or not ( you have to talk like you're trying to convince a third person of still giving tip).

by the end I swear I was hyperventilating.. But it was over. There was nothing else I could change once I clicked Submit (and you cant go back to redo the questions anyway).

Once we were done, we went again to another small restaurant which food escapes me atm.
And then we went to the church again. This time because The person who was going to rent me his basement apartment agreed to give us a tour to know the place.
We used most of the time in the drive as it was a bit far away and there was a lot of traffic (only 2 bridges connect vancouver with north vancouver and west vancouver).

This person graciously made a detour to Burnaby's university. Which sits on top of a hill that overlooks the entire Vancouver valley and its surrounding towns/cities/suburbs.

The view was beautiful with the rain, the forested areas.. and the nearby first nations sculptures.

Heres a zoom of the view..

After this, we visited the house. Which was very nice. The place looks like your classic suburb neighbourhood, lots of woods, space, forests. He owns a really pretty garden and was in process of installing a full BBQ kiosk.

Now the funny thing, he didnt tell her sick wife that we were visiting, and she was using the lower apartment since its easier for her to navigate.

She was nice and cleaned a bit and then let us in.

As I aid before, the place is good, it has a private entrance with its own security system. bathroom, full blown kitchen, a medium sized living room.. and a big king sized bedroom with a closet.
It came fully furnished, with fridge, TV, private bathroom and shared washer and dryer.
Also the rent included all water, electricity and gas.(for a laughing amount of money in the current Vancouver market..)
Only need to pay my own internet and/or telephone .

Since they wanted someone quiet ( I am) who doesn't drug (I dont) don't get drunk (I don't) and isn't a party dude who makes messes ( I don't..). They are hopeful that I will make the switch to Canada.

Speaking of move.. I got some of my university papers. I'm taking my photos tomorrow to push for the final paper I need.. then translate the whole thing to send it to Canada's education system.

@dryerlintfan How is your dad doing? Did you fair ok on your exam?

He's doing better. They're still working against the clots but they've evened out his medication so he's lucid again. He is also eating solid food finally! He's a stubborn old man though so he's refusing to do PT/OT until after they transfer him to a rehab center near home, but he doesn't seem to realize that if he did his PT/OT exercises he'd get transferred a lot sooner. But other than the clots, all good news!! Thank you for asking!!

I don't know about the test yet. It was a final exam so I have to wait to see what grade is posted. I'm hoping for a B but I don't know..... My life has been so chaotic that there was that test I got a C on because I hadn't read any of the material that week. So it could swing any which way and I have no idea. Grades will be posted sometime this week, so fingers crossed!
