Big reveal today of top earerns and overall money raised for our school’s annual walk/run.

T’s classroom was highest earning class in the school.. they won no written homework for a week, and a pizza and ice cream party.

We had 100% family donation participation.. which means we get a No School Day the day after the Super Bowl!!!!!

Also, the PTA is donating two water filling stations to the school as a result of the 100% participation.

Not too shabby!!!

Yum. Pink rice. You can use some beet juice next time instead of food coloring. I did stir fry for lunch today! I love stir fry. Yours looks very yummy.

Yes, they actually have a turkey dinner bowl (and maybe one other meat...don’t recall what). The turkey bowl had turkey (with gravy), sweet potatoes, green beans, stuffing (not exactly traditional, I think it had pecans in it), mashed potatoes, and boba pearls (cranberry flavored).

Flour, baking powder, stevia, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, powder ginger. Lightly saute apples Fry 350 until lightly brown. Yikes I really need to start measuring things and write a cookbook

Especially if you're using stevia, you may want to share a measured amount--as most people unfamiliar with stevia, may put in way too much and ruin the recipe.

I apparently missed the line on the Hurricane Preparedness list that mentioned that Beets were an essential item to have on hand. The shelves were emptied of canned beets and all this time later, still empty shelves. Now they need another list called the Canned Beet Shortage Preparedness list.

So can thousands of other things. Why beets specifically? Eating beets raw with no running water available would very quickly start to look like a crime scene.

We’re a relatively small school, the funds definitely help! We do several fundraisers per year, but this is our Fall kickoff to get things going.. and the kids love it.

The 2 top earners (T is not one of them) get 2 hours in a game truck during school one day. T aims for that every year, I told him “Sorry bud, no chance”

My younger brother ordered a slushy in late August at AK and it came with a straw and a cover. The straw was paper and poorly made. It took 2 paper straws for my younger brother to finish the slushy.

I did witness drinks without straws, but it was at Trail's End. The only way to get straws there is by asking for them.

Meanwhile, I meant to post this earlier today right after that post, just had a really busy day.

This week is a fund raiser for the hurricane victims. $25 due on Monday to be out of uniform for the week, but each day is a specific theme. Today was high school or college. I don’t buy high school shirts for Tristan because I’m not sure which one of the two probable that he will attend. And I haven’t bought him any college sports gear yet this year. Unfortunately he has tons of Professional sports clothes, but that’s not the theme today.

We received the email on Friday, and I completely forgot about it until he said something at bedtime last night.

Tried to find his clothes from last year, but realized I had already given them away.

So, here’s my plea to a group of moms on FB. #hotmessmom

So I told T when he woke up, he was so excited! He was really sad when I couldn’t find anything. I knew he was going to be embarrassed.
