Not a fan of the new construction. I don't like Disney's obsession with building up when they have plenty of space to build out. For me it ruins the whole aesthetic of one of our favourite resorts.

Back in late May, I was on a bus to one of the parks. The bus drove by the new construction of that hotel. I remember thinking it just looked odd and out of place (of course it was just a bunch of open metal floors and wall supports at the time--not quite as far along, as the more current construction pictures).

Interesting to note that I didn't know the direction (which roads) the bus would be taking, so I had no clue that we'd be going by that resort at all. All I know is I looked out the window at one point, and saw this tall hotel structure going up, and it was almost startling. I just couldn't make the connection between that higher building and the rest of the resort. Placed in another location, perhaps, but not "there" . . .

We have an airline here called U.S Airways, and I didn't know this until it was too late, but when they overbook their smaller jets, they're allowed to just take off whenever enough of their people arrive. So, I was flying and my connection was only twenty or so minutes long. I was already stressed about making the connection because of course they drop you off at the opposite side of the airport than where you board your next flight. The attendant at the gate said not to worry about it because she already called ahead but this is the last flight of the day so of course I'm worried. So I'm running (and I do NOT run in airports) and I'm sweaty and I'm just thinking man I'm going to make it in the knick of time....

Only to get to the gate and be told that the airplane left BEFORE my connection even landed. They left almost a half an hour early. And because I technically "missed" the flight, they didn't put me up or offer compensation or anything. I had to sleep in the terminal and wait for the next day to get a new flight out.

That's awful.

Just found out my Cruise has two formal nights.
Our 3 prior cruises only had one formal night.
I'm just packin' one suit.
The second formal night I can wear a nice shirt and tie....no jacket.
I'm sure there will be people who do just one.
........and probably a few who don't EVEN do one.
Less than 72 hours til we sail :joyfull:
I had one jacket that I brought with me for my trans-Atlantic cruise and I wore it at both formal nights. I had a different shirt and tie, etc. I didn't bring a suit, just a sports coat that I could interchange into a different ensemble. Cruises require multi tasking. There was one guy that had a T-shirt with the print of a tux on it and got away with it. Unless your name is Bond, James Bond the definition of "formal" is pretty loose.

Gee, that airline name seems vaguely familiar.

Every review I've read has given it very high marks, for all the reasons above. Happy to hear that you had such a great dinner experience. I was only up there once -- it was called the Top of the World back when my mother and I went. You see, it wasn't until 1995 that it became the California Grill. :)

Next time if you feel like splurging you can get the same menu in the bar/lounge area and have a good view.

Yes, I've heard and have been tempted. Always backed off though, as I don't bring any nicer casual clothing with me. I stuff my (small) suitcase with capris, sneakers and t-shirts only. Part of it is that I reject any form of even slightly dressing up when I go to WDW. I get sick of dressing up for work 5 days a week, and I just want to wear very casual outfits and sneakers. (Too bad they don't have Cali "to go" !!) ;)

I know!! Who would have thunk it! Just found out that it is actually not good to eat reduced fat milk because of the processing. I no longer drink it, but whole raw milk is healthier.

When we used to visit my grandparents on their farms, on both sides, we got the freshest whole milk you could get...poured it in a glass from the milk bucket just minutes after the cow was milked!!!
Also, all the cream on the milks surface was scooped out, and we used eat it with a spoon from a bowl, after it was topped with a little sugar and cinnamon...!!!!! :hungry:
