French are weird. They all speak English. They just don’t want to. When I was in college my family took a trip through France. My mom spoke perfect French. When she asked questions of people sometimes, she would ask them in English and they would reply in French. She spoke English on purpose because she knew it annoyed them.

Fun Mom!!! :joyfull:

That is good information to know. I didn’t know a little boy drowned on a Disney ship. My kids were never out of site when we went unless they were at a kids club.

He lived. Last I heard he is not at all what he once was, if I am remembering brain damage happened and most would not likely be restored. It happened in that departure when everyone is on deck to leave the dock. He broke away from his folks and with it being so crowded and noisy....again if I remember correctly with the hustle and bustle of the send off they were having a hard time getting help from the CMs and when he was found on the bottom of the pool nobody knew for how long. The ship delayed departing and the family left the ship...so sad.

Tragic and so sad.

All losses are difficult. This one worse. He was a really nice man and beloved. Prior to this command in the downtown district of Chicago he was with the Mounted Horse division and he also brought that to the downtown district (where we usually head on the Lake Front) He also started with The Horses a policy of naming each Horse after a fallen officer. Sadly but respectfully now a horse will be named after him. We know one of the officers in the Mounted Division, both his current and Mounted officers are taking this real hard.

The officer advocated strongly and often for felons to be held much longer. He spoke about one that was back on the street before he could blink an eye. The man that is accused (and confessed) is already a four time felon. Breaks your heart. :grumpy:

Well dd’s team came in second. They lost to the same team they lost to in Atlantic City. What was funny was that the third place team was the same team that came in 3rd in AC as well. We won’t be seeing them again until May in Virginia Beach since they are from Jersey and the rest of our competitions are in Baltimore and western PA. Hopefully they can learn from the critiques of the judges so they can beat them next time.

Seriously? You are sick again? Maybe the bad plane air did it? Get well soon.
Yup. That's what I thought when I came down with this. Seriously! Not again!

Both my parents came home with nasty colds from WDW, my brother isn't quite right either. He and I both took naps today, and he got up at 11. I just happened to pick up the flu somehow. But I caught it, went to the doctor immediately when I realized what it had to be, got on Tamiflu, so I'm on the mend. I knew it was what it was. I went from working out the night before to not functioning the next day, and I've been running a fever. It's just been a nasty year sick wise. For everyone.

The AC units kind of take away from the beauty of the building. C7E584D6-1FE3-4079-8FBD-F7C6A393D325.jpegF731C5E3-81F6-4C2A-A624-3EFF349BC429.jpeg

Sorry @ajrwdwgirl This is as close as I got to a cheese steak. :D The kids had to be there at 7:50 and the awards were done and we were on our way to get the car at the hotel at 1:30. We were right across from the Reading Terminal Market, but with snow coming and a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us I just wanted to get home.
We met the family at a Chili’s 30 miles north of our house. It started snowing as soon as we got there. When we left, the cars and roads were snow covered. The highway became a mess so quickly. We were driving 40mph for most of the drive the rest of the way home. Our local roads were not plowed and even with my 4WD I had a hard time. Glad to be home.

You are lucky you got the Tamiflu. I think it is hard to come by where we live. The flu has hit our area badly.

Knock wood never got the flu after the shot but have gotten chicken pox more than once:banghead::banghead::banghead::banghead:
I know how having Chicken more than once is. I got it twice when I was growing up. Chicken pox vaccine didn't exist at the time

The first time I got Chicken pox, I had to miss Disney on Ice:(. The 2nd time I got chicken pox from my younger brother. At least I didn't get mine before school ended unlike my younger brother.

I was a couple months away from my 10th birthday at the time. I had the 2nd time with the Chicken pox at the worst time. The city I grow up in was having its hottest summer ever.

When I had the Chicken pox the 2nd time, I had to go to the hospital multiple times. I had problems with stuff like keeping fluids in my system.

Your talk about Uni and Cabana Bay is intriguing me. May need to check it out next year. Maybe a split stay.

We have been staying on and off at Uni since about 2003. I love the boat launches to the parks, they load and unload quickly and are timely. There is no 'if you can see the floor there is room for more' like on Disney Buses, seats taken, they pull away. No waiting for a particular bus since Uni is set up more like Disneyland, you get the parks and City Walk all at the same dock.

I wonder if Disney secretly regrets putting their 4 parks so dang far away from each other vs the hub design that is used at Disneyland and Uni. Even with the blessing of land at WDW they had to knock down stuff at AK and the Studios to expand, so crazy. I found that worse at AK given there wasn't a great deal of attraction buildings to start with.

I will try to post some pictures. I don't know if her mom would want her picture posted so I might have to do a @Cesar R M move and put a smiley over her face. But everyone says she is a mini-me but I will post some pictures. Especially of food. I think we will be stopping at the cookie dough place and Carlos' Bakery!

Hope you're having a great time. :geek:
