Yup. That's what I thought when I came down with this. Seriously! Not again!

Both my parents came home with nasty colds from WDW, my brother isn't quite right either. He and I both took naps today, and he got up at 11. I just happened to pick up the flu somehow. But I caught it, went to the doctor immediately when I realized what it had to be, got on Tamiflu, so I'm on the mend. I knew it was what it was. I went from working out the night before to not functioning the next day, and I've been running a fever. It's just been a nasty year sick wise. For everyone.

Hope you feel better soon.

No Nutella on mine please. :depressed:

It was sunny today but by late afternoon that four letter word started falling from the sky. Messed with my dinner plans. :bored: We are supposed to have 60+ degrees with pouring rain in a few days. We still have a great deal of snow on the ground...wonder where all that rain is going to go? Remember no Nutella please. :cautious:

We got about 5 inches last night. Looks pretty out there. Oddly enough, we're supposed to have a few days in the 60s this week?!

Sorry @ajrwdwgirl This is as close as I got to a cheese steak. :D The kids had to be there at 7:50 and the awards were done and we were on our way to get the car at the hotel at 1:30. We were right across from the Reading Terminal Market, but with snow coming and a 2 1/2 hour drive ahead of us I just wanted to get home.
We met the family at a Chili’s 30 miles north of our house. It started snowing as soon as we got there. When we left, the cars and roads were snow covered. The highway became a mess so quickly. We were driving 40mph for most of the drive the rest of the way home. Our local roads were not plowed and even with my 4WD I had a hard time. Glad to be home.

Nice pictures. (Sorry to hear about the ride home--that didn't sound fun.) Glad you made it home safely.

Yep, as I posted before, a similar DCL cruise would have cost us 3+ times what our December Carnival cruise cost. Oldest DD and SonIL have cruised DCL before on their honeymoon and said they enjoyed this one just as much. People can dis Carnival all day long (as they have indeed had their problems), but, there was not one single issue on our week-long cruise and we had a blast...!!!!!!! :joyfull:
I feel the same way about Norwegian, we always have fun and I like the relaxed attitude to dining. I am sure a Disney cruise would be amazing but just not worth the money for us.

He lived. Last I heard he is not at all what he once was, if I am remembering brain damage happened and most would not likely be restored. It happened in that departure when everyone is on deck to leave the dock. He broke away from his folks and with it being so crowded and noisy....again if I remember correctly with the hustle and bustle of the send off they were having a hard time getting help from the CMs and when he was found on the bottom of the pool nobody knew for how long. The ship delayed departing and the family left the ship...so sad.
That's terrible! Kids and pools can be a lethal combination and things can go wrong so quickly.

Well I've gotta ask. How many languages do you speak?
Just 3, Dutch, German and English. I can speak a few words and read a menu in a few others but not hold a conversation.

@Mr Ferret 88 , I just finished watching the section of Guernsey on that Walking Through History video. The history of the 1940s was very interesting, and glad that's over for your island.

I really liked seeing all the pretty places the host went walking, especially the hikes up the side of the hills overlooking the ocean. Awesome! (I also like the deference to pedestrians on a number of the smaller roadways on the island. Looks like a real "walking" culture over there, which is great.)

We've gotten slight touches of the flu even though we had flu shots. One year I put it off and was down a couple of weeks. During shortages we can always get the shot because of my DD respiratory allergies.

I've never had the Chicken Pox. My kids have never had the Pox either. My son at 2, 39 out of 40 kids at his daycare got the Pox, guess who didn't? As soon as that Pox vaccine came out they were the first in the Peds office to get it. Funny thing. Nurse berated me for wanting them vaccinated 'cause nothing was known about the vaccine. When the Doc came in I shared the warnings from the nurse and her disapproval and asked him what his thoughts were the same? I could hear his follow up talk with her outside the exam room. I had the same issue with a Nurse when my son was a day old. I had him sleeping on his back (he fell asleep that way) she yelled at me and told me if he spit up he'd die! Wonder what she tells new Mom's now that the recommendation is to put newborns on their back? It drives me nuts.
Given the choice between the flu and chicken pox I'd rather have gotten the chicken pox because all 3 times I got it was very mild. That being said I got the shot when it came out no questions asked by my doc.
