The bird of prey is a young Harris Eagle that is used to hunt for invasive species(or species that have no natural predators after moving in) that invade the mangrove reserve I visited. Also to curb the overpopulation and prevent the destruction.

The next one is a yellow crowned night Heron if I remember correctly.

Also I'm happy to mention that the streak backed Oriole birds are back near my home. These noisy guys are beautiful to see.
They usually come in january but its been unusually cold and constantly cloudy.
Orioles are beautiful birds.

Is this school near your home?
Yep. We walked there yesterday. Out of the 3 schools she can choose from (there are more, but the others are for lower levels only, so we didn't look at those), this is the one that's closest to our house. None of them are really far...you can get to all of them by bike within probably 15 minutes. But this one is only a few blocks away. Her best friend is undecided...she wants to do dual immersion gymnasium (the highest level of high school plus greek and Latin) but there isn't a school in our town that offers that. The school DD wants to go to has dual immersion, and both the other schools have gymnasium, but none of them have both. So she's having trouble deciding. There's the one in Arnhem that has both, but the train ride every day an hour there and an hour back, at 12 years old...yikes. And they don't have a car, so the train would be the only option. So she's also looking at the school DD wants to go to...she would still be doing the highest level of school, she just wouldn't be learning Greek and Latin, and what would you really need that for? So I hope she picks the same school so she and DD would be in all the same classes. They only have about 25 kids per year who do the dual immersion program, so one class of each subject...those kids are together in every class. It would be nice for DD to have her friend with her, and it would be nice for her friend to have a native speaker to practice with. And her friend only lives a block away, so they could bike together every day and do their homework together, etc.

Canon EOS Rebel T6. The ones of the animals are with a 75-300 mm lens. It's a really nice camera. Easy to use for beginners like me, but it grows with you.

They also last. My mom has a previous generation model from 2010, and it still works very well. Mine has a few features hers lacks, but they're otherwise the same camera.

Love the AK photos--those came out great!! I was also amazed that you could photograph (from a distance) one of the cheetahs. They're elusive and hard to find out there, and if they're moving, they run extremely fast. So good job actually getting a photo of one of them.

Sorry can't like that either.
Are you one of the 19% that will be rooting for the Patriots? I think just about everyone is tired of them winning. Even the Steeler fans here in PA actually want the Eagles to win. I really don't know who I want to win cause I don't really have a horse in the race, but dh hates Tom Brady so I think I would prefer the Eagles so that dh doesn't go to bed p.o.'d.;)

I think that isn't true. When I was a kid the NY Yankees were king of the hill and frankly we never got tired of watching (or in those days listening to) them win. Of course, I guess we have to factor in that I lived in NY State at the time. As for my family (all New Englanders) here in NC are cheering for the Eagles. I am a born rebel so I have chosen the Patriots if for no other reason then to just be ornery. I don't follow football at all, but, I do attend their Super Bowl party for the Chicken wings. That path to success was reinforced by last years game, especially the ending. I have no use for Tom Brady either, for many reasons, but, I lived in New England for almost 63 years and I find it difficult to pull away.

To be completely honest, if the Patriots were to lose I don't think I am going to have to call the suicide hot line and I will sleep well. My true give a crap factor is very low when it comes to football. But just so you are informed, I have obtained a special SB training photo that I will share.
