I went to 4 H camp. And across the lake was the boy's camp. I met my first boyfriend there. I was 14 years old. So long ago!I never went to summer camp...
But, that would be SOME summer camp...!!!

ohhh man!
Would love to have some real ribs!
Reminds me these delicious ones you can get in Houston.
I'm so glad to hear it.I just received a phone call from my primary care doctor, and my echocardiogram came back normal. The doctor still wants me to keep my cardiologist appointment in January, and I have an appointment with her in December. I will then have my normal bloodwork, and she can see how my new medication is working. Good news on this Friday.
Thanks! You always crack me up, Bets...!!!
Me too. We never had a lot of money, but we have alway's loved to share with the kids and grandkids, animal shelters (no kill) and other's. You can't take it with you and I came from a farmhouse with outside plumbing, and wood fire place. There are super-expensive housing developments popping up all over our town (which used to be mostly middle-class families). From what I've seen, the people moving into them are young (like early 30s) parents...I'd love to know what the heck all these people do for a living!
Love your pictures and the squirrels...they are quirky and funny. We had squirrels the would go along the power line to our house (upside down) and jump into the bird feeder. I feed them for over 18 years, and after they left I got out the really good sunflower seeds and fed the cardinals and finch's. Then the bluebirds came along and ran everyone off, and when they left I went back out to feed the rest. We always had beautiful sunflowers until the squirrels, would cut off the tops and take it back to their nests. Did I say I love animals?Still processing the photos.
In the mean time...have more Squirrels!

Congrats and I'd do some flipping for you but my dh is home today. He says he doesn't trust me to behave and has some time he needs to use before year's end. ps I'll be the figment in your suitcaseGood news!!! We're going to Disney for my birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We decided that we both really need a break from the madness. Between DH working his tail off at work and not getting any vacation a week at a time all summer and my asthma and now high bp, we have got to get away. His boss said it was ok and approved a week in Dec. I am soo happy!!!! If I could do somersaults, one or two would be in order.
Bring a note pad and make sure to burn the papers you don't likeI can't hear much anymore, so he is my translator, she is a very soft spoken person.
Coming from humble beginnings...our house is now too much for me. For us, it's best to come into the world with little and go out of the world with little.Yep, even if we were super rich, we wouldn't want anything like that either. It's just not needed for our lifestyle. But, for those that have the money and the need/want, I have no problem with it...they keep me employed and help pay my bills...!
Great idea. Hubby sees how stressed I am, so he is giving me some slack. I'm back to my margarita per day.Bring a note pad and make sure to burn the papers you don't like
Amen, we haven't made that much in a lifetime.Actually, many of the homes we design are in the suburbs, but, truly and seriously, I can't even remember the last time I designed anything that was a less than 1.5-ish million dollar home. And yes, even though we live in the suburbs, we don't live in anything remotely close to those prices...
Love this....so funny!
Thank you so much for those numbers. We are looking at North Carolina and Florida. How are the taxes in North Carolina? We get half off of property taxes since we are over 65 and have lived in our house over 10 years. (More like 25 years).I live in an area that has a fairly mild winter, comparatively, I switch over from AC to Heat by flipping a switch on the thermostat because my unit is AC and heat pump. I have a monthly record of cost between heat and AC and they are both almost exactly the same. When I lived in Vermont my heating bill (fuel) was over $2k a year, now my entire electricity bill for a year is, on average, $960.00 per year and that includes everything, lights, heat, AC, electric appliances, hot water and so on. So my average monthly bill is $80.00 and that is actual. It runs within only a few dollars difference every single month.
