I got a few craft things for the boys for Christmas just in case we get snow days. If not they'll be good rainy day projects for spring and summer![]()

They don't test parallel parking in Wyoming, either....or they didn't when my husband went to get his license when we lived there. But yeah, there are a lot of things people don't know. I suppose it doesn't help that we don't require lessons from a qualified instructor there. Anyone with a license can teach you, and that person may or may not know what they are doing.Very true, and there are so many simple things that people never even think of. Defensive driving is not necessarily just for you, the others on the road need to think of the small things as well. One example we used was lets say that you are driving down the right lane on an interstate type highway. As you approach the entrance ramp, what do you do? Most people said just keep the course because you have the right of way. The answer is that you do one of two things or perhaps both, you either cover your brake peddle and be prepared to apply them if the person decides to just move into your lane and/or if the lane to the left of you is open, you move over to that lane. You don't have to, but, it may very well prevent making contact with someone that is on a different cloud or your vehicle is in their blind spot. A couple of minutes in that other lane can prevent a collision, injury or death. You had the right of way, but, you opted to minimize the risk by driving defensively.
My belief is that more emphasis should be put on testing and training defensive driving for getting a drivers license. I just found out that here in North Carolina they don't even test parallel parking anymore because so many people didn't know how to do it. I had to parallel park a 42 foot bus to get my CDL. Nailed it first try. You never know when you are going to need to get out or into a tight spot. That is all part of defensive driving, preparation and anticipation. It helps if you can have the same mental thoughts that I do. That is that every single other person besides myself is an absolute, drunken idiot and picturing what type of stupid thing they are liable to do. Seems like an awful way to think, but, just keep it to yourself and you will live to old age. (which in itself is nothing short of an adventure)
I know basically what I want to buy for people but I just haven't gotten around to getting them.
I should be done once I can get that robe for DD. I have the added problem of my son's birthday also being in December, so I have to figure out what to get him for both birthday AND Christmas.Scorecard:
Figgy: 100% done with Xmas shopping on 11/7/17
MinnieM123: 1 small bottle of hot sauce for a stocking stuffer = 1% done with Xmas shopping on 11/7/17![]()
Ohhhhh....I only gave you a sampling of this town I call home. My DD gave me a sweatshirt a few years back.....
It is my favorite Christopher quote to describe Hamlet
This town is like one big

OMG I know people who can parallel park but otherwise can't drive and I also know a few people who've never driven on a highwayThey don't test parallel parking in Wyoming, either....or they didn't when my husband went to get his license when we lived there. I'm easy to buy for! A winter without snowYou're still leaps and bounds ahead of me. I haven't a clue what to get anyone this year.
Oh my. Definitely news to me. The pic at the top looks like a 747-8.
Retiring them from all airlines in a coupla' weeks, or just US airlines, or just cessation of commercial variant manufacturing...?!
Seems pretty odd that all airlines would just retire/ground them all at the same time...
A link, maybe...?
Yes, I'm too lazy to go look right now...!![]()
And yes, I remember the days when those luxury babies were all the rage in air travel...!!!!!![]()
