The Chit Chat Chit Chat Thread

Yeah, anything can happen anywhere and the craziness that happened a while back has not quite left the minds of many yet. But it is like Chicago. We head in many times a year and I love it. But I choose my areas wisely where I go. For all the hoopla that is being spoken to about Chicago and their murder rates overwhelmingly it is in a section of a huge City. If you could see the amount of people that commute to Chicago everyday from the suburbs and back again they would see how safe the majority is, but that isn't what is reported. Certainly someone has to figure a way to get a handle on the area that is nutso dangerous. There seems to be pockets in places like Baltimore, Chicago, NY, NOLA, LA and even Orlando and Miami that just get stereo typed as Danger Everywhere.
Denver has an area in which people don't drive after dark. It has at least one or two shootings a night. At least that is what people have told me. I don't drive into Denver, everything is a long commute out here.

I was born in New York State and lived there for 15 years before the family moved to Vermont. I grew up on the west side of Lake Champlain and we moved due east across to the east shore of Lake Champlain in Vermont. Exactly 8 miles due east.

The first time I went to a dentist in Vermont the exact words he used were... "You're not from around here are you"? I said no, why do you ask. He said "because your teeth aren't all rotted out. Wherever you lived had fluoride in the water". He was right.
That's how my mom and dad lost all their teeth. They looked great on the outside, but the inside had all rotted out. I'm figuring by 80, I'll have all caps. Or just eat soup!;););)

I made baked gnocchi from scratch just to heat up my kitchen a bit. I didn't need to cook today but it sure beats being cold!
I made an amazing tomato bisque. Definitely had a need for soup today!
Indiana was funny about Fluoride, they thought it caused cancer. No fluoride at school.
There are some studies that link fluoride with reduced cognitive development in kids.
Another milestone. I remember the grandboy's not wanting to use a stroller, and when they were out of diaper's and didn't need baby food. Lot's of milestones spent at Disney.
Two of my kids lost their first tooth at Disney.
Hubby is running the air conditioning, and I'm freezing!
I cannot like this.

Hubby and I don't feel royal right now. We are both getting our usual reactions to the flu shot. I know it's not supposed to work this way....but every year has me questioning if some people feel under the weather for a couple days. We have to get better quick. We leave for the airport at 3 A.M. our time. This coming Saturday.
The shot basically gives you a small flu. I would hope that you should be ok for Saturday.
Hubby is running the air, while I have the fireplace...with heater going in the living room.
That is ridiculous!!:D

That, not that particular type, was all over Europe (or at least the countries I visited. I didn't know what they were to begin with, they just looked like a bunch of primitively built heater pipes, then it dawned on me what they were for. Pretty near as clever as a bidet!
I knew what that last one was for. I wan't raised in no barn.
Speak for yourself, I was raised on a farm. ;)

Summer is so much cheaper utility wise.

But what about air conditioning costs? Our heating bill is very low, because our little (and I mean little . . .LOL . . .) townhouse that we rent, is well insulated. Plus, I like the heat down to about 58-60 in the dead of winter, when it's the only time that I crank it up here. Hubs likes it much warmer, so he wears hoodies and sweat pants around the house! :hilarious: :hilarious: (Hey, opposites attract, you know?!) :D

OMG!! Sorry about the unplanned diversions!!! Yikes! Here's hoping all is well now and that you'll soon be in WDW. :inlove:
