I walked up to our town square. It has a retention pond enclosed by wrought iron fence. A photographer draped a large fishing net over it and Mom and Photographer kept trying to sit a baby girl, 1st birthday that obviously just learned to walk and had zero interest in sitting up against the fence in the park.

I watched for about 15 minutes as they kept grabbing the wandering gal sitting her back down. By the time I left happy baby was melt down baby. Thought some candid photo's of the birthday girl picking clover flowers from the grass would have been adorable.

I would have loved to video in high speed time lapse, the entire scenario for the adults to watch themselves.

I'm a big fan of alcohol on flights. Those steel tubes are just germy. Alcohol actually kills a lot. I look at it as flight medicine.

I do too. I picked up my virus from the kids. That's okay, I love having those grandkids with us!

And on a funny note. My Mom, my DD, DS and I have real issues with lotions of all types, bad allergic reactions. Welts. When we find something we stick with it. We can do Coppertone for whatever the reason. But we have the same issues with other lotions beyond sunscreen to start with.

That said, my Mom aging just doesn't get it no matter how many times we explain it to her. She tells people she is allergic to SPF in suntan lotions. We explain she doesn't grasp. It is funny to watch 'others' reactions to her explaining an allergy to SPF.

Now, that's funny.

On the way back from town I saw a happy cockerspaniel without its tail doc'd. Never saw one with a tail and it never stopped waiving!

Thanks. I crashed on the couch today and feel a bit better for it. It's a rainy day today..good day to stay in and rest up a bit. How's your cough? Are you feeling any better?

It's one of those virus that comes and goes. I'm better though, until the smoke from all the wild fires are affecting our air quality right now. I'm glad you are getting better. I'm staying inside , with the heat on....our lows last night was in the upper 40's. Brrr....

Technically, I do tan...I end up darker than I was before. But my "tan" is still whiter than most people's non-tans. And my DS is practically albino. He doesn't tan and you can pick him out of a crowd at the swimming pool by looking for the blinding white skin tone.

Just like our older grand son. He is really white (like my daughter) and the little grand son is very dark, like his dad. I guess it's all in the genes....

I also got a dog (as a companion) because when I came home from Iraq I was really depressed and lonely and felt like nobody needed me. She helped my outlook on life exponentially. She's annoying most of the time, but I love her so much Dogs have such an amazing impact on our lives!

She's been with me for 7 years now . Here she is on her birthday with her two sisters (she's the furry one without a hat):

Dogs can be the best friends you will ever have. It's called unconditional love in my opinion.

It's issues with the computer parts, that can only be serviced by a Chevy dealer. It's complicated. Most other types of repairs hubs does himself (background in car mechanics), but there are just certain things he can't do, due to passwords, etc. that only the dealers have. It's just really discouraging.

I hope they resolve this quickly. I hate car repairs. You pay so much for a car, they should last at least 15 years before needing to be repaired.

Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room! I wanted to get us a Lion King suite, but since neither of us are huge Disney fans, and neither of us has been before, we just couldn't justify the price.

I love those rooms, they are so bright and cheery I look forward to staying in those rooms. It's a little far from the food court, but there are many things to look at along the way. They are quiet too. Away from the pool.

Out for me today. I'm still behind, but will hope to catch up before Monday. We are going to Estes, and taking a couple trails. I'm hoping for some animal pictures. Have a good week-end, everyone.

I would do that if they provide clean sheets and towels everyday. And provide cleaning supplies. You can't travel with cleaning supplies, for pete's sake.

So I wonder what you are giving up and it is actually $20 gift card per day.
towels, sheets, cups, coffee, bath products and soaps. Info still pretty vague.

I'm so sorry. I wish I could bring Walt back, but he is in a happy place right now....waiting for you.

Thanks. I miss Walt still so much but now I'm past that mourning time and am able to look back at The Adventures of Walt. As you read throughout the years Walt had a personality like no other and lots and lots of good stories of his antics. Still I think @MinnieM123 Jack's Adventures in Life surpasses Walt's antics.

I've read that there's a coffee cart they bring to the Little mermaid area. As long as there is coffee, I'm all set!!

Yes, yes I would. Many a morning having a bagel and coffee looking out at the bay before I had to board a bus to the convention center while my family went off to the parks.

Ended the night a couple of times with a bottle of wine in the same spot.

I recall a few years ago that Swan offered only something like a $5 food coupon for each day that you declined housekeeping. I actually tried it for a few days, and decided I didn't like it. There was something just odd about a full trash basket, used towels left on the side of the tub, unmade bed each day, etc. Just wasn't worth it to me. I also felt guilty about taking work away from housekeepers, so it was a one and done for me.

As for replenishing toiletries, towels, coffee pods, etc., you'd call the housekeeping extension on the guestroom phone, and they'd bring up supplies. If you weren't there when they'd come by, they'd put the supplies in a plastic bag and hang it on your doorknob.

And then I would spend a chunk of the savings tipping housekeeping for the delivery. I agree about self service eliminating jobs. Rarely will I check out anywhere myself. I go to the cashier.

After decades of cleaning, beds, trash etc part of the vacation experience is me having a vacation from all that housework. I always leave our hotel room tidy but not having to take out the trash, make beds, clean bathroom etc is a nice treat.

That would work for us if it was only my dh and I and only every other night.

Too little has come out on this test of housekeeping-less guest rooms. Is that an option? Or all or nothing for the reservation?

I feel that. We had a lot of days in the upper 80s/low 90s and almost two weeks without rain. Then yesterday the heavens opened and rained all day. Not ready for winter but some days in the 70s would be good.

It's been in the mid-high 90's around here with heat indecies up to 115...and we LOVE it...!!!!!!!
I've been used to this stuff most of my life. DWifey was born in South Dakota into an Air Force family, and, subsequently, lived in Germany, Montana, and Wyoming after that. She absolutely hates living anywhere near cold or snow.
And, the best part is, we don't hafta' worry about shoveling heat, slipping on heat, etc.
And, this has been one of our cooler summers, recently...bring on the 110's with 125 heat indexes...!!!!!!!
