I don't get it either. Sooo beyond any theme park that had ever been created anywhere, ever. Beyond groundbreaking. No Disneyland/MK (of course I love both of those, too) and that's what they were going for, in all the best ways. Just sick how it's been co-opted and left to stagnate all these years.

Stagnate is an understatement given the state of both the Imagination and WoL pavilions. Like Figment Epcot is dang beloved. To change the theming completely to IPing will destroy what I love about that park, that was a gem.
Loosing more sponsors isn't going to help.

During Food & Wine one night during EMH it had been monsoon raining for about six hours. It was raining inside SSE, WoL earlier, the Land ride. Not drips but rain. That kinda neglect can cause much bigger issues. I really don't grasp this business model.

Art of Animation in a Little Mermaid room! I wanted to get us a Lion King suite, but since neither of us are huge Disney fans, and neither of us has been before, we just couldn't justify the price.

Most of us didn't start out the fans we are today of WDW. Me and subsequently it was a birth right. My Mom took me to Disneyland frequently starting when I was an infant until WDW Magic Kingdom opened. I brought my DS at 14 months and my DD my second child at 2 months for their first trips. Both of my kids breathe Disney. It is kinda addictive for many.

Yeah it's a weird balancing act. You want to get your money's worth out of your park tickets so you need to spend maximum time in the parks, but then you want to get your money's worth out of your resort price so you want to spend maximum time in the resort pool. And I can't tell you how many blog posts I've read about maximizing the food plan, LOL.

Reading through this forum for the past six months though, we've come to the conclusion that you really aren't going to "get your money's worth" in terms of the resort or the park itself. You're paying for the experience, and the only way to get your money's worth is by focusing on that, instead of maximizing your time. At least that's how it interprets for me for going with a toddler. This mentality has really helped me relax about the trip. It's no longer about getting as much park time or pool time or food credit usage as possible. Now I'm focused on being flexible, following the lead of my toddler, and just making the best experience I can for her.

Our trips with young children was very very different that our trips as they aged up or trips as young adults. You are wise to recognize that. We changed plans depending on their moods, sleepiness or what they seemed to love. Our trips became about them and us as a family unit. We rarely if at all did baby swap. We went for 2 weeks and just enjoyed the family time in a place we loved, staying on the inside to escape the reality of life. It worked for us way back when with little ones. Now we tour differently. We all get sleepy.

Yep, that's called a triple A...Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm. It's what John Ritter died from.
Yeah, that sounds right. I don't remember what they called it in Dutch. He was in the shower, she heard a kind of scream, he called for her, and by the time she got to him he was already gone. Very scary stuff.

I would do that if they provide clean sheets and towels everyday. And provide cleaning supplies. You can't travel with cleaning supplies, for pete's sake.
Well, really, what cleaning supplies would you need? I don't remember for sure, but most places have a toilet brush next to the toilet. For a week or two, all you'd need is to run a dust rag over the cabinets and wipe down the counters. If they provide towels, and toiletries, I'd be good. I don't need clean sheets every single day. I'd probably want to vacuum a couple of times a week, though.

I walked up to our town square. It has a retention pond enclosed by wrought iron fence. A photographer draped a large fishing net over it and Mom and Photographer kept trying to sit a baby girl, 1st birthday that obviously just learned to walk and had zero interest in sitting up against the fence in the park.

I watched for about 15 minutes as they kept grabbing the wandering gal sitting her back down. By the time I left happy baby was melt down baby. Thought some candid photo's of the birthday girl picking clover flowers from the grass would have been adorable.

I would have loved to video in high speed time lapse, the entire scenario for the adults to watch themselves.
Candids are the best!! The best photos I've ever taken of the kids were candids. And trying to get the perfect posed picture is murder!101_2487.JPG101_2489.JPG100_4121.JPG 100_4303.JPG100_4350.JPG

So I wonder what you are giving up and it is actually $20 gift card per day.
towels, sheets, cups, coffee, bath products and soaps. Info still pretty vague.
Is this at Disney resorts? And do you have to do it every day or can you say like "We want cleaning service every 3 days and we'll do the rest ourselves"? I'd totally do it if I could have cleaning service every few days just to freshen up the place. I mean, really, they mostly just wipe everything down and make your bed and empty trash anyway...and I don't scrub my toilets or change my sheets every day at home either. But then, we don't spend much time in the room on vacation, so it's not like it gets really dirty. So $20 per day seems like a great deal to me as long as I can still have clean towels.
