I hope so. I love Mr. Potato Head. I played with him for years.

Me too. My Mr. Potato Head had parts but lacked a body. His parts were sharp and went into a 'real' potato.

Sorry you didn't get the waffle maker you wanted. I'm sure the boys were just thinking with their stomachs. I actually wanted the one that had the Mickey face on it, but these tasted pretty good!
Yes Mickey face would have my first choice and yes they were thinking with their stomachs as usual, the one I got takes just over a cup of batter for each waffle.

The next four days will be below zero, with snow. Low temps for the day, in the single digits. Winter here we come. We wanted to do some moving things, but it won't be possible. We don't have snow tires....Imagine, in Colorado!
Sympathy like and a warm hug. We're going to be above freezing all day to day and then the bottom will fall out.:mad::mad: Have I mentioned how horrible winter is?

I guess I have a New Years resolution this year. I have decided to read more. I just finished my first book of the year. I don't know if I am going to shoot for a specific number of books, maybe around 40. That would be about 3-4 a month. So any good book suggestion? I'm up for anything. Although nothing really gory or depressing please.
What about the Kingdom Keepers series?

makes me wonder.. doesnt the heavy usage of salt in roads and walkways damage the environment when everything melts?

Yah, it's not the best thing for the environment. We have a (small) nature area not far from where I live, and they really reduce the salt on the roads near the water. (Signs are posted that it is a low salt area and to reduce speed by cars.)

However, salt on roads and sidewalks, steps, etc. can reduce slip and fall injuries, and also save motorists' lives on the roads and highways. Ice can be extremely dangerous, so I have no problem with them using salt in winter.

Top of the morning, everyone (at least my American friends). Work week starts today for me. Anyone with big plans for this week? Or is everyone recovering from the Holidays? LOL!
Sorry to hear you have to go back to work. My "work load" is lightened because I got everybody up and out the door(finally). Plans yes, big no. Unless you count conquering mount laundry:hilarious:

We did that on Christmas morning. The boys made sure the waffle maker was the first thing I opened:cautious:
There was a rule from the before I was married...NO household goods for presents. The last few years the kids anyhow learned when something was for the fun of it vs the house or chores. Progress.

Yes. Salt changes the soil balance, kills some grass and plant life. Ruins both concrete and asphalt road and changes the colors of paver bricks overtime. Some areas use sand or a mix but the sand messes with the soil too and the sewers.

And I would not have it anyother way. My FIL was walking with his toddler grandson through a park and slipped on an icy untreated sidewalk and cracked his head very hard. Within hours he was bleeding in the brain, about 75 years old. The neurosurgeon before he started to operate gave us two likely outcomes, a vegetable or he'd die on the table. Fortunately he only lost the good use of one leg. He lost all memories for a month but regained the ability to speak. So I don't care if I have to put more grass seed and dirt down, don't care if the roads need to be repaired or replaced. If it wasn't for road salt there would be substantially more people out there with major injuries like my FIL.
