We will turn off our lights tomorrow night. Eventually the ones on the porch and the gutters will come down. The rest will have to wait until the melt/thaw as it is frozen in the ground. I didn't know about the Mickey spot lights, something to look into for next year. I saw some other lights like that on some houses.
We got all our outdoor stuff put away this afternoon while it was relatively nice out. It's snowing here now...

I enjoyed all the photos you shared of your mini-vacation. Have to say that this one of the zebras takes First Prize though!! :cool:

Thanks. The Zebra's were fun. I'm not a photographer as we all know, the colors were so vivid and they really popped in person, same with the serpent. We are so fortunate to have 2 Zoo Light festivals here. Our hotel was only a couple blocks from Navy Pier where the fireworks are focused. A wonderful way to bring in the New Year. Though being on the 22nd floor...I'm not so good with heights.

@Gabe1 , I have a hunch that you're thinking about a new puppy in your future . . . ;) :inlove: :inlove:

Yeah...thinking about it anyhow. I've had a Springer, a Shepherd and then 3 retrievers after that, 2 Goldens and Walt the Lab. Thinking of what will be the best fit for me for the future. I'm not quite there yet but at least I can think about it now. :cyclops:

Now I'm beyond jealous. I love a good kitchen gadget store. Never can have too many LOL Sometimes the basics are best like my favorite rolling pin. Just a simple tapered wood one from "France" of course:joyfull: BTW the cork screws reminded me of the movie Robots

My rolling pin is from Italy, marble.

Note, there is 2 locations in NYC and one in Boston for @MinnieM123

Mine are down outside. Tree and mural are still up, should be down by weeks end, late for me. Even my DD tree is still up but the rest of her stuff is down too.

We didn't get the snow, pelting rain instead.

Good morning there's an ice storm coming in so we are going NOWHERE today! I'm letting everybody sleep in one last time before life gets back to crazy tomorrow. I hope the roads are clear tomorrow morning. Now @Mr Ferret 88 knows why I order salt by the truckload:hilarious: anyhoo waffles and gravy for breakfast. I made a freezer full of waffles with the new waffle iron the boys got me so I have to do something with them:confused:

I have never bought rock salt by the truck, but those buckets (that I cannot lift) from Sam's Club and the salt hockey pucks for the gutters yep. Me, it is bark and pea gravel by the truckload.

Oh, o.k. I never had anything like that--sounds like Southern cooking. When I've had waffles, it was always with maple syrup. :hungry:

I've never been able to get past the look of breakfast gravy. My DD learned to love gravy over biscuits at U of I. I swear Central Illinois is the South misplaced in the Midwest. :confused:

I guess I have a New Years resolution this year. I have decided to read more. I just finished my first book of the year. I don't know if I am going to shoot for a specific number of books, maybe around 40. That would be about 3-4 a month. So any good book suggestion? I'm up for anything. Although nothing really gory or depressing please.
