My apartment is so hot tonight that it feels like I am in a Walt Disney World resort room with an energy efficient air conditioner (not) blowing out air.

I know, and I hate when Housekeeping turns the unit down. When I stayed at the Coronado I bought a Mickey balloon and tied it to the chair so it would stay on cause the balloon kept blowing in the wind. Seriously, for what a room costs A/C should be plentiful. I have a room that just doesn't get enough A/C in my home. I bought one of these units. It helps. It was a couple hundred dollars, very efficient and quiet. Stuck it in a corner behind a chair. Done.

It is on wheels and nothing hangs out the window. Fixed my issue.

My SIL worked there for a bit while she was in college. We never made it there. Maybe, some day.

Yep that is in College Campus there, I love it. I've never tripped across a pizza like that and their sauce is beyond amazing. We always hit it either for Mothers Day or my Birthday in the Spring and walk across the street to the Zoo. Always a great day.

So my dog had to go to the vet today. Hubby could tell that the ear was bothering him, and the vet said it was a hematoma, (sort of like a cyst), and she drained it. Gave him ear drops for twice a day, and prednisone for twice a day (I assume for a week).

Meanwhile, my dog who's always been a lunatic, is even more crazed now that he's on steroids?! He's running around all wound up and excited. Hope he doesn't keep us awake tonight. Oh, and a few times he went to scratch his ear, gives a slight whimper (his ear will hurt until it heals--somehow, he hasn't figured out the connection yet), and then runs upstairs and downstairs. I think he's high.

Awe poor Jack. Nothing really helps the hematomas, I've seen the drains, operations, meds over the years, one of my Goldens had it a few times. Steroids are nasty with pups. Sometimes their moods really swing and then there is the 'accidents' they tend to have. They really need to drink water with that med and go out very frequently. Hugs to Jack.

One thing that helped my Pup was I cut the thigh section out of a pair of pantyhose and slipped it over her neck and then pulled it up over her ears. They tend to shake their head with the hematomas and that just keeps making it worse. The panty hose section holds the ear to the head and helps it heal vs flapp'n it in the wind.

I saw a comment on Twitter from a CM that was holding the sign for the stand-by minutes. He had empathy for the poor kids waiting 3 hours in the hot, humid sun cause their parents thought it was a grand idea. I had to paraphrase that because it needed cleaning up for this forum.

how efficient are those units?
window units are well known to be very inefficient.. but this unit seems pretty big.

I agree I wouldn't wait that for sure. Maybe if I lived down here and came all the time and that was all I was planning to do for the day. But for people on vacation that is ludicrous. We have a fast pass for Saturday. We will see how that goes.

I need one of those. I must be one of a handful of people who pays 50 for a buffet and feels sorry for the restaurant That's part of the reason we booked a few for our trip, the boys might be full for a few hours. One can always hope LOL

NY style (and Jersey style) are a thinner bottom, but with a crust. Must be folded over to eat a slice. Like so

Yeah, when they are getting up there some of them are kinda like mules. Yep, I'm to small to drink and drive at all. With the varying percentages of alcohol it is hard to say what would quickly put me over the limit.

I stood there a couple days ago at my Moms and listened to her recap to a moaner that had come to call on her, the events of the day my Dad passed. (my Sis from Cleveland via phone spoke to the Doc that morning and after being updated Sis said no more as he had a DNR)
My Mom's version was my Sis walked into the ICU unit and saw all he was hooked up to and had a fit and told the Doc's this is it.....
My Sis hasn't been in Illinois for almost 2 months. I just stood there and listened to the recap to her friend and I was like Whoa!

Good morning it's going to be another beautiful day so I'm going to the pool sans children. One of my boys has a friend who coming over to keep them company. One of the perks of older kids I just hope they leave some food for dinner

Poor puppy! Does he need a cone of shame so he doesn't scratch? I always feel bad it they have to wear a cone, but it is also pretty funny too.

Hoping it doesn't come to that. Not sure if you've seen the better styled (cones or collars) -- they're fabric and shaped like a big donut. They don't come up as high as the older cone style, so the animals will still have their full peripheral vision. They're wide, so that they can't get to the point they want to scratch. Again, I hope we don't have to get one of those for him. We'll see how he does over the next few days.

Over a million people in downtown Cleveland for the Cavs parade today. Too many people for me! My best friend (whose office building is right on the parade route, she can watch down out their windows), she had to be at work three hours early just to make sure she could get in. We're doing the celebration in Akron tomorrow night instead.

Our first stop though was the Derby Lounge for drinks (margarita trio for me and rum and coke for hubby) and derby sliders.

You're right, some people are just twits. But a pickle recipe, seriously? Did you send it?

The room is really large, so hopefully. I just don't know who will surface and who will not. When booking the wake meal I had no idea of a head count. So I picked the favorite restaurant of my Dad's when we came over and ordered his favorites for a buffet. It is Saturday morning.

I ended up having to send it...she was so obnoxious. First she asked me at the funeral...then she asked my brother at the funeral. Then she reminded me before she LEFT the funeral. Then she called me at mom's house (we were still there) to see if we had dug it out. Then she called again a couple of days later. I moved over here and figured I was done, but she met my aunt and started hounding her at church! I sent it to spare my aunt. And yes...Twit is a good word for her.
