Poor puppy! Does he need a cone of shame so he doesn't scratch? I always feel bad it they have to wear a cone, but it is also pretty funny too.

That'll be me if this job ends up turning into something I do permanently. My SUV gets horrible mileage, and this job will require a LOT of driving (other than the rare instances when I can work from home). I think my SUV's only getting about 20 highway mpg, possibly less. If it works out, gotta save the $$$
You cant switch the SUV for a more ecofriendly car? like a small 3-4 cylinder compact?

Technically, it's my parents' car, and I don't think they want to trade it in. And it's been absolutely fine for me to drive to school, especially when the roads get bad in the winter.

But I think I'm going to have to plan on getting a more fuel-efficient car if this job does work out. I'll have to go out to businesses to do enrollments, and that means driving all around the state. Plus my car is 10+ years old and has over 100,000 miles on it, and it's had to have a ridiculous amount of service on it in the past year. It'll just end up nickel and diming me.

Probably going to just start saving, and then let my parents figure out what to do with my car. My guess is they'll probably keep it as a back-up vehicle.

I don't particularly like the pizza, and you're right, their crust is nasty, but I DO love their garlic dipping sauce, Do they still have that?

Yes, they do. There's always some leftover cups of it in the fridge at the office. Although, not one of my favorites (we also order from other local places), PJ's is one of the places the office orders from for our lunchtime site visits to see the construction progress of our projects. It's there and waiting when everyone gets back to the office around 1p.
I Luvs me some garlic and butter, but, their stuff is generally too salty for me.

I have to admit, their Pacific Veggie is pretty good. And we enjoy the internet "ticker" that lets you know when your pizza is coming. I think it is a lot better than not too long ago. It just isn't Lou Malnati's. Another place we enjoy @Gabe1 is this place

Gullivers Pizza on the Chicago border.

I have not been to that one. Nicer than the one that had been in Glenview. I'll put on the list for when we are heading to the North Shore.

One of my favorites is Chicago Pizza and Grinder near the Lincoln Park Zoo.

It's not a family thing, I thought maybe I had posted too many each day. I've had a hard time, seeing this little boy's face, in my mind when I keeping waking up at 3 in the morning, thinking of him. I'm doing better. I'm looking at restaurant meals for October.

You do not post too many pics. We love to see them here. By all means, post away...! :)

Sorry about the nightmarish thoughts.

Cool about looking for places to eat for your next trip...! :)

The problem is getting to be when he gets in the car after drinking too much. And he evidently had this problem on and off when my mom was growing up, which I never knew until she told me...last night.

He has had a rough few years. It was hard for him after my grandmother died, and more recently, my paternal grandfather, who was his best friend since he was a kid, has been confined to a nursing home as his dementia is getting worse and worse. So that's been hard for my maternal grandfather. But even so, coming home and having two or three drinks per night is NOT good.

At least 99-year-old stepgrandfather is doing well. He evidently wanted to go up in the attic last week. My grandmother told him absolutely not. But I'm sure there's probably going to be more drama once we get back from CA with my grandma, so...ugh.

Yeah, when they are getting up there some of them are kinda like mules. Yep, I'm to small to drink and drive at all. With the varying percentages of alcohol it is hard to say what would quickly put me over the limit.

I stood there a couple days ago at my Moms and listened to her recap to a moaner that had come to call on her, the events of the day my Dad passed. (my Sis from Cleveland via phone spoke to the Doc that morning and after being updated Sis said no more as he had a DNR)
My Mom's version was my Sis walked into the ICU unit and saw all he was hooked up to and had a fit and told the Doc's this is it.....
My Sis hasn't been in Illinois for almost 2 months. I just stood there and listened to the recap to her friend and I was like Whoa!

So the other night I watched a video of Horizons for the first time and I think it looks so much better than Mission Space! It's kind of hard for me to believe they would get rid of something like this, although it did seem pretty similar to Spaceship Earth. I don't hate Mission Space or anything, but it really does seem like quite a downgrade after seeing that. I'm sure it was amazing in person!

It was amazing, indeed! It, and SSE, were my favorite two FW attractions, at the time. Classic Disney imagineering...!!! :)

I so know that feeling. I think it messed with all of our minds as did Orlando and the musician that started the 3's. They were still looking for the young'n when my Dad passed. Just an awful week. For me it has been too long for the wake for my Dad. We had some real logistic issues that is dragging this out and my Mom is getting really flakey. It has just been a rough few weeks I think for us all.

But planning a trip is always fun...what restaurants will you be taking us to? :hungry:

@Gabe1 , it completely passed by me that you also had to deal with Father's Day this past weekend. Talk about bad timing. I hope all this stress dissipates soon for you, so that you can get back to some normalcy and peace.

Yep, timing is everything. It was weird being Father's Day but my family rose to the occasion and we kept busy. My son was my Dads favorite though he loved them all. He just never had a son and he was the only grandson so they had a bond. We all just kept jumping from one thing to the next occupying ourselves. Oddly it turned out to be a nice day despite it all. Thank you.

Those things are never fun. There was a woman who approached me several times at my mom's funeral to ask me to please remember to send her my mom's zucchini pickle recipe. Hopefully you can side-step the people you really can't face on that day. When is it?

You're right, some people are just twits. But a pickle recipe, seriously? Did you send it?

The room is really large, so hopefully. I just don't know who will surface and who will not. When booking the wake meal I had no idea of a head count. So I picked the favorite restaurant of my Dad's when we came over and ordered his favorites for a buffet. It is Saturday morning.
