My summer so far...

Friend came over yesterday. We watched Star Wars: TFA and argued over if Han Solo or Luke Skywalker was better or if Princess Leia or Rey is better (FYI, the correct answers are Han Solo, and for now, Princess Leia. Rey needs a few more movies to possibly outrank Leia).

Finished reading "Bloodline", which is a novel about Princess Leia (that happens to be cannon).
Checked out another book, "Aftermath", which takes place after Return of the Jedi.

I think I'm a bit Star Wars crazy.

Yep, I just checked our local Baskin Robbins (a very well-known, many years in business in the USA, ice cream chain, and a place we haven't been to in many years), and one adult scoop is $2.79...!
I hafta' be honest, I'm blown away...$2.79 for a scoop of mass-produced ice cream...?!?!?!

Today I got ice cream at Ben and Jerry's. It was $5.25 for a "small" and $5.75 for a "large". I opted for the latter in a waffle cone (for an additional $1.00). :greedy:

But it was sooo yummy! :hungry:

Well you have to live up to your name:p

I would agree on Solo and Leia...though I feel like its really Rey vs Luke since those are the two main characters of both trilogies. I thought Rey was less whinny in her first outing though compared to Luke. She didn't need any power converters:D

Practice? :hilarious: :hilarious: I just spit out my coffee on that one! You are so funny!! (You have to understand that I've been relying on buses and trains all my life, and just the concept of people "practicing" how to ride on a bus was just so hilarious to me!! :p :p Best laugh I've had all morning!! :D )

And I spit my wine with your ability to rely on buses and trains. We have no such option. We have to drive to a bus or a train. Where Urban areas have options we do not. Even the train when you reach it goes East or West very much limiting where you are allowed to travel to.

You and me both. 100 for a car ride no way. I'm sure I'll walk around DS but I'm not planning on doing any shopping, the marketplace on the other hand may be a bit dangerous to my wallet (Basin) WOD changing to areas by character is something I'm not sure I'm going to like. I always get a snow globe for my younger ds and I liked when they were all together, same for the jewelry. Just made it easier to shop. Thinking about it there may be an upside less shopping:D

Yeah, I can't wait to see how the Town Center area pans out. Even a few of the high end restaurants. I will go, I will look but looking at some of the prices, yikes. Sure I will treat myself to some souvenirs every trip, I can afford Bassin without a smack to my credit card but some of these stores I am admittedly not their target demographic. But is there enough guests continuously support that many high end stores in an area that locally there are two malls already offering similar? Same kinda goes for the restaurants in DS. How many meals will guests actually travel to DS with the commute being that long and taking a good chunk of time away from the parks for a meal? To me the whole business model is a bit of a gamble. To me it was always telling the line for Earl and now more reviews of the new burger joint than anything else.

Are those still canon?
I mean... Disney pretty much chunked huge areas of Star Wars.

Speaking of roller coasters, every year I go down to WDW I pick a "new" favorite one. (I can be very fickle, you know.;) ) So this week, I went on Space, BTMRR, Everest, and RNR Coaster. My new favorite for 2016 is (drum roll . . .) Expedition Everest!! :joyfull: :joyfull:

Me I remain faithful to BTMRR though Everest comes in quite close. I endure RNR and Space while I do like, it really messes with my aging bones.

Yes, unfortunately, just 3 nights/4 days. That's what my budget allowed. Years ago, I'd carry higher balances on credit cards, etc., but eventually I stopped doing that. (It just seemed like a vicious cycle of spending, and taking months to pay off stuff.)

Now, if I have any credit card charges, I pay them in full each month. Sure, I could go down to WDW longer and spend a lot more money, but I'd rather not carry a bunch of debt from a vacation. I just do the best I can with what I have; and believe me, I'm still very happy with even 4 days of nonstop fun! Hey, anything beats going to work every day, you know?! :p

I'm the same way. I spend what is what is my means. Rarely do I charge anything at Disney. While I do build a chunk of cash and money into my checking/debit account for an upcoming trip I know what the budget is. I actually wait most times for purchases towards the end of the trip and pick the things I want the most. While there are all sorts of stuff I could buy over the years I've been fine without having to buy all that much. That is just me, the parks and meals is really enough for me. It is really the parks and some of the food I'm there for over the things to buy.

I have a few gift cards put aside for getting a few things to put away for Christmas, snowglobes for the boys, new chopsticks for my dh, maybe pick a pearl for me and a short stop in Basin. I have noticed I'm buying less and less each trip. Now if only I could keep my boys away from Tatooine Traders I should be goodish:hilarious:

Help!! How can I book a dining package? I can't find any for the Jungle book show OR ROL, though I found an article that says Tusker House will offer a dining package, and one that said Tiffins will have one. We already have a reservation for Tusker House, but it's not for the dining package, so I'd like to change it if I can, but I can't find anywhere that mentions the dining package. How does one do this??
You can't book it until 6 eastern today
