Last night preparing dinner I pulled a @betty rose

Not chopping onion, no slicing little tiny soft bread crumbs. :banghead:

Some 10 hours later it seems it has finally stopped bleeding for good this time. Maybe. :cyclops:
I still have a swollen area on my thumb. I'm thinking it may never go back down. But, it's still tender though healed. When you get older it takes so long for any thing to heal. So sorry for your accident. I cooked for Christmas, but had to wear surgical gloves, and I couldn't use the thumb. Hubby got a work out opening things for me. Another pet peeve of mine....packages that are way too hard to open!

Well, the thing is my brother is HORRIBLE with money and he has a huge sense of entitlement when it comes to material things he wants. He got into trouble, maxing out multiple credit cards and he couldn't pay his bills. My dad bailed him out or he'd have gone bankrupt at 20. He had to consolidate all the credit cards and negotiate on it and he wasn't allowed to have a credit card for like a decade after he had paid what they had agreed on. But he still tended to spend money before he had earned it. When my mom passed, he tried really hard to manipulate it so he got anything of value and when I didn't let him divide it unevenly, he got angry because he "already had plans for that money" and I said, that may be but it's not your money and I have plans for it too, as it's MINE. I think he was in trouble again and knew dad wasn't going to bail him out a second time, and he had no credit cards anymore, so he pawned everything from his half of mom's estate to make up for my share that he couldn't manipulate me out of and of course he couldn't tell me he was in financial trouble again so he couldn't sell it to me, either. Not that I could have afforded it anyway. I love my brother, but I don't trust him at all when it comes to money.
wow, that sucks!

so bad that you lost some of the mementos of your mother because of his uncontrollable spending.

Ugh. 2 Navy Boats in Iranian custody. Iran promising to return the CREW promptly. Uhoh.

And on the night of the State of the Union address. That should be interesting. Prayers to the Navy crew. God Speed.
the question is.. did they violate Iran's area? Its not the first time something happens there that was not on Iranian's blame of side.
Being neutral here.. (like the shooting of that passenger flight departing from Tehran).

Aw, poor baby! My childhood dog was tiny....part chihuahua and part cocker spaniel...so he was just small and the first winter, he had of course never experienced snow. There was snow covering our front porch and he went to go outside and took a step down and slipped and went down the stairs on his belly with his front legs stretched out in front of him and he came up at the bottom with a big pile of snow on his nose and he just looked so surprised and wouldn't go any further...just turned around and came right back up the stairs and wanted in. He was wanting NOTHING to do with that snow!
that sounds one of the biggests "nope nope nope.. never again" tales!
I best the dog was adorable. Cookers are very cute. Now you add the tiny size.. :O

All of my Pups have loved the snow, Walt was playing so hard out in the snow this morning. His balance at his age is not great on tile and wood floors now and he slides. Walt now avoids any area in the house that I don't have throw rug paths for him. Yes I do that for Walt. I'm thinking the back porch is just another thing he has scratched off the list of places to step on, the list is growing but he has to do stairs.

Walt also missed jumping into the back of my truck. That was the end of leaping up there. I bought him a real good ramp that folds in half. I swear our home now is Walt Land.
You can now troll your friends:
You:.-" We're going to Walt's
Your Friends: "Florida? Or California?"
You: "Neither, Its My home. My pup is named Walt."

Yeah, you are right. Veal is baby boy dairy cow.

Maybe @Songbird76 Mom fibbed to her about the origin of the meat 'cause veal comes from a baby. Get why she liked Veal Parmesan though, it had to be much tastier than game meat which I can't stand either. Lamb has that same ewe taste to me too. The old lady that lived across the road from us and we kept an eye out for, her DD lived about an hour away on a family farm. She raised Emu's. One Christmas she brought us a huge basket of fresh bread and Emu Meat. We ate the bread and it was yummy.
I don't like lamb either. We were forced to eat it in school every Easter. I let my friend have my white milk and I hid the lamb in my milk carton. Mint jelly with it was the worst. I still hate mint and lamb. I tried it about 5 years ago, just to see it my taste has changed. Nope it's still awful....Poor hubby had to eat it when he worked on the Navajo Nation, out of respect. He is definitely not a fan. I saw lamb was on sale at our local grocery, no thanks. I wouldn't take it if it's free.

Yes! And it was so deep. I've taken the bandages off now and letting some air finally get at it. There is a huge valley in the side of that finger. I can give a great testimonial to how great the IKEA steak knifes are. They stay so sharp.
Just a recommendation....I used Neosporin on my thumb, three times a day. When I changed the bandage. All in all it healed the outside really well, I can even see my thumb print again. :joyfull:

My sister and I are really frugal, I can't stand to waste anything. If I can't use it anymore, I donate it.

dogs.. XD

I love my Pups but my Alpha mojo wasn't working in the middle of the night chasing a Pup in my jammies and rainboots. Walt knows that look I give him and he always always comes to me and sits down right in front of me. He is very well trained. Last night all the training went out with the snow. Freak'n -17 windchill and blowing snow. Oy.

So sorry to hear this. I don't watch news anymore. Too many incidences of child neglect and animal abuse on our local stations. Thanks for keeping me informed about world news. Hubby hates me to watch to much of that, as I can get depressed and worried about everything.

Do you have cross-eyes? My ex did and you couldn't ever tell when he was looking at you. He'd be talking to you and it would look like he was looking somewhere else. And he could only use one eye at a time because of it, and he had NO depth perception which is why he was a HORRIBLE driver.
Yes just like that. Parents didn't take care of it until it was too late. My brain turned off looking out of both eyes at a very young age. Grandson has had two surgeries to correct the problem. I don't mind wearing glasses, I kind of feel it masks the problem. (Not really, but I like to think it does). I couldn't drive worth a hoot either. When you look out of one eye then switch to the other, it's as though the center line in the road moved by several feet. I couldn't tell if I was close to a stop light or sign either. I was pretty much a hazard on the road. Hubby has done all the driving for years. I'm so glad I can walk to the Emergency care center, or grocery store if need be.

I hope you have time today to wrap yourself like a taco with blankets! :O

That is a scarey way to live life. During the last recession we had to be beyond careful, it was difficult and we had 2 kids in college.

My folks were well and my Sis was just kinda babbling when she was in town. She made a comment at that time that she really wouldn't want much from my folks home when the time came and then she just rattled off the things she would be taking and that would be all she'd want and we could have everything else. (not quite that obnoxiously stated though)

Well everything she laid claimed to were the high end furniture, Hummels, lladro's, best of the jewelry and my Gran's Crystal living room lamps and the Tiffany Lamp. Probably a few other things. The rest of the home has good furnishings but nothing anyone would really want just household goods. I could see her pulling up a moving van taking the best of the best and leaving me with a bunch of ***** My Sis was much younger then and likely would not want most of what she laid claim to back then but in my head I was thinking that is what you think woman. I refused to even discuss it I just listened. Sis was already irritated that I am the executor of their Estate (she is an attorney), power of attorney and I am on all the accounts and safety deposit box of my folks. Mom knew I'd be fair when the day does come. I'm still at the helm. My Sis owns the lawfirm that she was a partner in now, likely other than Jewelry she isn't going to want or need anything.
I was so fortunate, when our folks passed, sister was extremely fair. We were brought up with an extreme sense of honesty .
