Yeah, keep us posted. We bought our flights last night and booked the All Star Music and the Caribbean today (one of the good things that happened today). Since we are going for 2 weeks we picked the Music to save money and the Caribbean because we stayed there on our honeymoon, and we will be there during our 11th anniversary.
Congrats! I wish we were doing our traditional June trip:(

So I have had quite a day of some ups and downs...and I have to share because I'm still a little freaked out about the downs. So sorry if it is a little long. The day started with a phone call from school we had a two hour delay because of icy roads. This was a good thing for me, it meant getting a little extra sleep and getting some stuff done around the house. As I live only 2 blocks from the school I teach at I didn't have to worry about icy roads.

Once I get to school the kids are all crazy because it is Friday and we had the 2 hour delay. I was a little late getting into my classroom to start as I was chatting with our librarian in the hallway and I noticed our principal with one of our students at the students locker which was right across from the doorway of my classroom. I thought it was strange if this student was already in trouble as it was at the start of the day. About 45 minutes later in between the next two classes another teacher told me she saw that student being taken out of school with the police. Anyway, soon after that we found out that the student had brought a loaded gun to school. And turns out it wasn't the first time, he showed the gun to his friends and his friends did the right thing and told our principal. It is just really scary to think that a middle schooler would bring a gun to school and it was loaded (and cocked). If you don't remember I teach in a very rural district and we all have the feeling that something like a shooting would never happen here. Luckily the student didn't use the gun and it didn't go off accidentally. But it is still sickening to think of what could have happened. Hopefully that is the only brush I or anyone I know have with that situation.

So when I came home from school we booked our summer Disney trip, as I needed some joy and magic to hold on to today. :(
OMG WTW???????

We still have a drive-in about five miles from me. $12 per carload and that's for TWO feature films, the same movies in theaters. Sometimes we load into my sister's van and when we basically are paying $2 a person. We pack a cooler and some camp chairs so when the kids fall asleep during the second movie we sit outside.
I'm so, so jelly! I miss those. They've paved paradise and put up a parking lot!

Cute pictures of E.B. from Hop.
I have a big soft spot for this fellow.
Dunno why.
I took a few photos of EB and EB. Jr and with the Pink Berets.
I find it interestring that E.B. (the character portrayed in the studios) is indeed a drummer.
He was doing these cute little shows Using different drumming sets. Then the candy girls started dancing and he had to go to "change" (aka remove the drum harness).

But I was annoyed, because the maps had completely different timelines than what happened.

Example.. They said the HOP show would end at 1:30.
The show actually started around 3:00... and was already ending by 3:30.
or shows like Horror Makeup at 1:30. It started at 1:45.
All the maps they gave had wrong hours except in the cinematic spectacular.

These are the pillows I now use. There are cheaper versions by the same manufacturer however they are not the same.

These are soft and mushy however there is a center core to keep your head from mushing all the filling to the sides and plopping down to the mattress. It is a Goldilocks pillow, not too soft and not too firm. I now have four of them as does my DD. They breathe too. And when they start to flatten you put them in the dryer for 20 minutes and they come back out puffy again. As I am now, I can prop them up behind my back in bed while playing on here and yet they give enough for your body to mold into them. Sleeping my head doesn't plop to the mattress level nor is it at a right angle. I am not a cheap person, I am frugal but am willing to pay $$$ for these pillows.

The theory test costs about 500, then there's the practical test, and all the lessons to learn. Over here, there are separate tests for stick and automatic and if you get an automatic license, you can't drive a stick, but if you get a stick license you can drive either. But I only ever learned automatic, so I'd have to take lessons to learn to drive a stick. And here, you can't just ask someone else to teach you. You have to have a certified instructor with a special car, and those lessons cost about 50 euros per lesson.

I don't really know how much my driving instructor cost but around $50 for each lesson seems a lot. Conversion rate is around 1.1 which is relatively cheap.

That makes sense. There is a bucket load of rockets there and it was the huge rocket that is on display in a building all it's own. Not the one that was sitting on the pad when the fire happened, but, I guess one that was left over from the program. Pretty impressive thing. You cannot even begin to realize how big that thing was unless you are standing under it in that building. It is huge.

They have a Saturn V on display at JSC in Houston, as well. That is one monster rocket, indeed...! :)

I remember those stamps too. My Mom would save the Green Stamps for years to get something semi worthwhile. And she had two DDs that were responsible for putting them into the books as part of our weekly chores. Personally I prefered dusting and trimming the grass (life before weed whackers) Those things were nasty.
I "got" to help with the stamps too. To this day I refuse to lick another stamp. I use a damp sponge.
