I got out of ever doing jury duty. When I lost my hearing in one ear, they understood I might miss half or more of the testimony. I had a Doctor's written statement. There have been some juries I would have liked to be on. As in the theater shooting.

I'm the odd person who wants jury duty. I have never been called. I'd probably regret it if it were to happen but I think it kind of sounds fun.

I used to love watching Iron Chef! Such a great show. Definitely a good plan not to plan much else the same day you'll be at DTD. Although I thought you'll have your car?

I use to watch a lot of the Food Channel shows. Then they on a whole got ridiculous or scripted. I also had little tolerance for Chef's whose premise was to be mean and insulting to restaurateurs in trouble. I don't garner any enjoyment out of people in power belittling others or being nasty to their staff. Fake or not I didn't find it pleasant so I don't watch the channel anymore. Originally before too many of them got big heads over pride they had some good ideas and techniques you could walk away with.

But what causes them to cancel it? Why wouldn't they suddenly need a jury?

Where I would have reported to, was a Superior Court. There's over 20 courtrooms in there; however, they may schedule certain types of cases for certain days. Also, when there is a holiday in the middle of a work week, that may also throw off the court schedule. There's a lot of behind-the-scenes plea deals, negotiations and continuances that go on, that the public is not involved in. All I know is that I was ecstatic that I didn't have to go there for jury duty today!!

Unfortunately, sending it to them would be futile. Whoever got the material would have to destroy it immediately upon realizing what it was.
I had an idea for a water park slide that I wanted to present to someone in Imagineering. Sketches and everything. I ended up calling legal in New York and was told they never do that. No way.
If they're not gonna' accept ideas from they're own CM's (unless it fits your job description), they certainly aren't gonna' accept any from outsiders.
We were told over and over again never to listen to or accept ideas in writing from Guests, etc..

Yikes. That's lousey.

My folks knew I would never take care of my horse nor was it realistic given how tiny I was. He couldn't have lived in the yard anyways, not zoned for all that at my folks. So my horse lived at my Dads friends farm and they took care of him and also got to ride him cause I didn't get to do that daily.
I went with a friend to ride horses at about 13, it was a great place. I knew that horses were expensive, so I didn't ask for one.

It is still really windy here. I went to the grocery store and I had to keep trying to push the door open and the door won for awhile. I finally sat still till the gusting stopped. My truck is pretty big and it is heavier SUV and as I sat in the parking lot it was rock'n.
Crazy winds! We have them out here often, called the Chinook winds. They get to over 75 mph. Glad the builders take that into account. We lived in a four story home, and it swayed in the wind. No damage , just lots of noise.

The turkeys are quite safe from me:D I can't say that for my dh and older ds:cautious:

I'm not a big fan of Turkey. I cook simply ThanksGiving the next day and I have several large chickens vs turkey, my family prefers the taste of Turkey.

On ThanksGiving Day my family goes to Harry Caray's for dinner and I usually have the Big Boy's Filet or Ribeye. They have one room set up as buffet style and have every imaginable ThanksGiving Side including many versions of dressing/stuffing. It is an amazing meal. Then we go to my Folk with the thought of dessert. Don't think I've ever ever had room.
