that study sounds pretty dumb. Obviously they will have better scores if homework is part of the work being counted for the overall score.
reminds me I once had a class that homework compassed 40%.. the other 40% was the exams.
What was the last 20%? I think most of my classes were weighted more towards the homework side than exams. I did have one class for which it was exclusively exams. There were no homework assignments and everything on the exams was taken directly from the professor's notes. As long as you went to class and took notes, you were golden. It was known as a weedout course because so many people flunked it, but those were people who didn't bother coming to class or studying the notes. I never even OPENED my textbook and I aced the first 2 tests and got a 99% on the 3rd. And I had one day that I was feeling really burned out, so I went to the professor, told him I needed a day off, asked if it would be ok to miss his class if I got the notes from a classmate. He said he appreciated the fact that I was always in his class and made an effort to study, so he not only gave me the day off but gave me HIS notes to copy. He was pretty awesome.

I never been to those two. My last time at the Breakers was at Christmas where they deck it out and give eggnog. But we usually had field trips to the mansions during school.

If you're in the area and interested, the Breakers, The Elms, and Rosecliff (Rosecliff was the mansion used in the film, The Great Gatsby, with Robert Redford) are all open and decorated through the Christmas season.

Media photo on the back lawn of Rosecliff, from the 1974 film version of The Great Gatsby (he looked awesome in that white suit!!)

Thanks Minnie, but, we're good for now! Lots of flooding, but, we're on the high end of our street, at the dead end that abuts a water retention/detention pond.
We're actually at a wedding right now. Oldest DDs and SILs besties. They were in their wedding party and now they're in theirs.
It was originally to be outdoors like oldest DD and SIL, but, had to be moved to a small chapel on the grounds because of the weather. It was packed. Beautiful ceremony though, and the reception is a blast...!

Anyone heard from @Cesar R M...?!?!?!

Thank you for checking in. The weather video from Texas looked crazy yesterday, and when they mentioned Austin as well, I was concerned. Glad to hear all is well, and happy that you had such a fun time at the wedding reception! :)

Hey all! I just got back from a mini weekend away in Madison (our state capital) with some college friends. It was fun but I'm tuckered out. A lot of shopping and it is a 4 hour drive from my house. But we are at the melting pot restaurant and it was fabulous!!

We have a lot of fondue; cheese fondue, a broth fondue to cook our meat, and a chocolate Heath bar for dessert. I guess there is one of these restaurants in Minneapolis and that is any an hour away! I see more fondue in my future.....

Yum, yum, yum!! Hey, whatever happened to fondue anyway? It used to be very popular years ago and somewhat fell out of style, I guess--except for Madison. Maybe Madison will revive the trend, and it will become popular again. (If not, I just might have to move there . . . :p)

I used to love it years ago, and I often would "lose" the piece of bread (or whatever) on the little fork when I dipped it into the hot cheese pot! Ha ha ha . . . I was a bit of a fondue failure, but it was still fun!!

Now mine is a leg hugger. She's kind of sprawled out on my left leg.

Earlier, I was propped up on pillows at the end of the couch and she was laying behind my head. My mom was working outside and came to the window nearby. She was fascinated by the fact that my mom was outside the window. Then my mom started playing peak-a-boo with her. She was fascinated.

I've been basically studying all day, and she's been here all day. She wailed this morning when I wouldn't let her in the bathroom. But this is her:

Ha, ha, ha . . . my dog does that, too! :D

One of our favorite places. We have one that isn't all that far away. We do the cheese, broth and usually the chocolate fondue for dessert.
Usually have the Liebfraumilch or Reselling wine, it goes well with the cheese and chocolate. Love that place but skip the salad.

Yeah, the salad sounded really good but was terrible. The dressing was really sweet and way overdressed.

Give it time though. My best friend told me that it takes at least 4 weeks to see a difference in your body, 6 weeks for your significant other to see it, and 8 weeks for everyone else.
I understand , why does weight go on so easily and so hard to lose? I'm still good for the bike, I rode 2 hours yesterday, while watching the cooking shows on PBS create, that @figmentfan423 mentioned. I wish now, I had recorded the shows, lots of good tips and ideas for vegetarian, or more veggies .

Near my Mom there is a new upstart shop called Nothing but Bundt Cakes (and they are not kidding.)

These little individual cbakes are over the top amazing. One flavor better than the next. They come in full sized too which are also good too I just like the mini ones better.

But I thought your farmers market was closed for the season. The ones around here are.
Our local farmers market closes on the last Saturday of October. The one in the next town over has a small building and two outdoor shelters and runs until the Saturday before Christmas. The closer to the holidays it becomes a big bake sale/craft show but it's within walking distance of the university so they are always busy. My mom shopped yesterday and bought us a giant bag of fresh kettle corn. :hungry:
