My bench, and a beautiful sky. Thanks, @MOXOMUMD!:joyfull:
Hey all! I just got back from a mini weekend away in Madison (our state capital) with some college friends. It was fun but I'm tuckered out. A lot of shopping and it is a 4 hour drive from my house. But we are at the melting pot restaurant and it was fabulous!!

We have a lot of fondue; cheese fondue, a broth fondue to cook our meat, and a chocolate Heath bar for dessert. I guess there is one of these restaurants in Minneapolis and that is any an hour away! I see more fondue in my future.....
You should come out to our Melting Pot in Colorado, it's haunted!;)

And that is why Butternut squash is often used outdoors for decoration. That skin is really nasty and the critters even have a hard time getting through it. Try poking some holes in it with a fork (so it doesn't ker-splode) cut the top and bottom off and put it in the microwave for 3-4 minutes, depending on the microwave. The skin will then easily peel off with a potato peeler or paring knife. Slice the Pup in half and scoop out the inner goop. Then you can either roast it whole or cut it into cubes and roast it. Cut down on the roasting time a bit because it has been slightly cooked in the micro. Viola. Fresh Butternut tastes so much better than that bitter pre-bagged stuffed you get at the grocer.
Thanks for the tips. We did manage to get the skin off and cut and put into the oven with olive oil. It was so tasty. Nice and sweet. Hubby brought home a bag of squash, it's organic, I'll probably add a little sugar before roasting, I hope that takes the bitterness out!

On the subject of butternut squash. It doesn't shred. It's more like pumpkin and seeing there's going to be a shortage of canned pumpkin this Thanksgiving it can easily be substituted. You cook it just like butternut either whole or halved. BUT!!!!!!! Do not cook them whole if they are from the supermarket as they're waxed:hungover::depressed::depressed::hungover: The best way to cut them is with a heavy cleaver.
Another tool, I don't have. :(

Near my Mom there is a new upstart shop called Nothing but Bundt Cakes (and they are not kidding.)

These little individual cbakes are over the top amazing. One flavor better than the next. They come in full sized too which are also good too I just like the mini ones better.

Maybe in your are and mine, the people with scooters need a winter retrofit--with skis on the bottom, instead of wheels? o_O I figure if they can do it for planes, they can do it for ECVs!! :p
I could go skiing with one of those, in the mountains! Hey, I think it's called a snow mobile!;) whoops, I should have read before I posted....great minds think alike @Gabe1

Yum, yum, yum!! Hey, whatever happened to fondue anyway? It used to be very popular years ago and somewhat fell out of style, I guess--except for Madison. Maybe Madison will revive the trend, and it will become popular again. (If not, I just might have to move there . . . :p)

I used to love it years ago, and I often would "lose" the piece of bread (or whatever) on the little fork when I dipped it into the hot cheese pot! Ha ha ha . . . I was a bit of a fondue failure, but it was still fun!!

I don't know why people don't fondue more, it is delicious. The Melting Pot is a chain, but I don't know how widespread they are across the country. Maybe Disney Springs will get one. I think that the lounge at Wilderness Lodge offers a fondue. I might have to check it out in November.
