@Gabe1 You were wondering whether to upgrade to Windows 10. This contains a good video review that should give you a decent amount of info:

It is a little buggy for now, so you may want to wait if you only have one computer. I'm upgrading for two reasons: 1. I'm only upgrading my tablet, and I still have a laptop with Windows 8, so if there's any major issues, I still have something that works, and 2. The update files are on my tablet right now (under C:Windows.~BT), so I should get it at midnight tonight when Microsoft unlocks it, and this way, I can get used to it before my semester starts, rather than trying to adjust during the semester or not getting it until December.

Speaking from experience? LOL There are some things I miss from that age and some I don't. Except for the food bill I don't mind my boys most days! And they are really good at lawn moving and snow removal, hoping I won't need their skills for that latter any time soon.!

Same here regarding missing some things and others not. While I miss the cuteness, I do not miss the 24/7 vigilance, even with the trade-off of willfulness (not that DD was ever an easy baby!) for independence. I've never considered myself the "mothering" type, though. :D

I went to instant, cause hubby likes no lumps in his potatoes. Me, I'll take them anyway I can get them. I store my butter in the freezer, and buy the half stick kind. It will keep 6 month's in freezer. So no waste, as I cook with olive oil too. No canola oil for me, sis said she researched it and canola oil is used to clean garage floors. She wasn't kidding, and she is way more health cautious than me. :cautious:

Freezing butter is such a great tip! Thanks.

I'm not a fan of the taste of canola oil but there are lots of food products that are used for both food and cleaning so that doesn't always scare me, lots of food products are used in natural cleansers, I use an orange spray to keep fleas off young pups. Lemons take lots of stains out of clothing and lemon oil wipes off mineral deposits off of shower doors and bathroom tile without any effort. Lemons also clean and shine brass (where ketchup will shine copper, vodka cleans chrome) and boiled in a coffee mug with water will melt down crud in microwave so you can just rinse the dried on good off. Salt sprinkled and scrubbed with a half lemon and sit over night will take stains out of butcherblock and the same mix will lift crud off cast iron frying pan that is stuck on. We use vinegar and water to wash windows, it doesn't damage the UV properties of newer windows and also kills weeds, just takes a day or two over chemicals, me being a germaphobic it also is a disinfectant killing bacteria. An onion will also effortlessly remove the grim that builds up on windows over the winter months. Hard water rust streaks can be removed with a peeled potato and banana peel makes your silverware shine again. Walnuts will hide scratches on wood floors and furniture. Powdered lemon or orange mix cleans a ceramic dishwasher was well as a chemical cleaner. Get grease on your clothes many time letting corn meal sit on it for an hour soaks out the grease. Cucumber (skin part) will remove marks from painted walls and back to where we started olive oil is good at getting sap off of stuff.

@donaldtoo , as others have guessed, I'm also saying that you're the boy in the front row with that "stylish" ;) red shirt on!!! :joyfull:

Apparently, I'm the only one here who never had a class picture. :banghead: I don't know why, but they never did that at my grammar school. :(

Now that surprises the heck out of me. Class pictures are generally from an outside company for schools, sports, band-you name it. The organization picks the price point from the choices of the photographer of the mark up price to families. (that is why they are often so freak'n expensive) These funds generated are generally not part of a public budget, they are considered Activity Funds. Once a parent questioned the price structure and my board started to look into activity funds and we cringed at how 2 of our 3 schools spent funds or transfred them around to different fund balances, 2nd part not legal but unknown to many. Photo's just like Gatorade, soda and junk food machines as other $$$ that slip into that activity fund banner. These funds often slip off the radar unlike budgets that can easily be inspected by boards or general public. I'm am so surprised that a school or any organization would skip over photo revenue.

Wow, that was a plethora of fabulous tips! Muchas gracias!! :inlove:
