It's purely economics for us (we buy what we can afford, as do many others). In one of Clark Howard's shows Ii'm not sure if he's on CNN currently, but he used to have excellent shows about all kinds of financial things), he talked about car insurance.

It never really dawned on me, until I saw this particular show, just how much difference in insurance premium rates there are between a brand new vehicle, and one that is 1-2 years old, or older. He was saying that you can get a very good used car (with carefully researched buying, etc.) for a few, (or more), years old; and the insurance drops dramatically. That completely changed my view of used cars. Prior to that, I thought you should only buy a new car.

Yea, Clark Howard was on our most popular AM station in the evenings for many years.
Although, we were buyin' 1-3 yr. old used cars before I ever even new who he was. :)

Don't know why he's not on that station anymore...

It's a Dad thing. My dad sometimes tells me the wrong age (when I was 19 he did this a lot, "How old are you again?") calls me by his sister's name, calls me by my mother's name, calls my mother by my name, etc. My maternal grandfather has not ever been able to spell my mother's name right. Like I said, it's a dad thing.

It's a "some dads" thing. ;)
I for sure know our 3 kiddos b-days and how old they all are. Heck, I even remember what time each of them were born and how much each weighed. :)
And, I can certainly spell all of their full names. :D
