" . . . looks cartoony" :hilarious: You always have your own unique perspective on things! :p (I'm also still trying to get the connection between the Dalai Lama and the forum's new font in the same post; but it is very early in the morning and perhaps I'm not quite up to speed just yet . . . :D )

Maybe he hadn't had coffee either???

I'm having problems with the new font. It is thin and very light for my aging eyes.I miss the bolder darker font. Much more readable for me.

("Hello, 411 directory assistance, how may we assist you?" "Yes, this is an emergency. I need the name and phone # of an optometrist in the Austin area for a gentleman experiencing blurry vision!") :p

Ahhh....it must be those cheater glasses from Walgreens. ;)

Awe, hope you get to see her before you leave. They adjust and they hide well usually only coming out in the wee hours of the morning when everything is still. We often watched my MIL cat when they left town. One night she came out in the middle of the night and I woke to her perched above my head on my bookcase headboard. Creepity. Say a prayer to St. Francis to watch over her while you are gone and turn it over to him.
She was trapped inside my mom's bed frame and was stuck there for some 36 hours or so until we found her and got her out! Shoo! That was a close one! Now, I'm just resting. The only thing I have left to do now is pack my shirts. I'll do that at the last minute. My dad wants to take me to the airport at 4:30am and have breakfast there before seeing me off. I'll have plenty of time on the plane to rest.

Also, this morning, I had a very interesting two hour conversation with my pharmacist who is from Lebanon. He is all supportive of my trip. He used to live in the area of Lebanon in the south where Israel once had its "Security Zone" (now under the control of Hezbollah). He's a very nice person with very moderate political opinions concerning his nation's southern neighbor. Maybe one day there will be relations between the two nations...

Hopefully my next post will be from NJ.

Fear in your parent's voices, is so scary for a kid.

Yep. As old as I am I can still transform myself back to that day. Awful. I found it odd growing up and reading in textbooks the recounts of the days....this part always omitted. It does alter the recounts of history. That is why I use some judgement when reading history books, bibles, etc. and go for the jest of it verses gospel account of such. Every author on all topic brings their own spins.

And on that commercial note, Yoplait yogurt has a new commercial with a dang close hidden Mickey on the side of the cow. Like they plopped a black smudge on Mickey to stay out of harms way with Disney.

seconding this..

You all talking about nice food.. and here I just had KFC and made me feel bad :(

Sympathy like.
We used to love KFC, but, it has all just been consistent crap around here in the last few years. Run city.
And, whoever came up with the idea of that little troll-like turd of an actor playing the Colonel in the recent commercials needs to have their head squashed. Just how, exactly, does making the founder of the company appear as a complete and total imp give credibility to the brand...?! I just don't get it.
Fortunately, we have much better places for fried chicken and fixins' around here.

Happy it all worked out with kitty. I worked for years with a lady that fled Lebanon during all that.....back in the day. An amazing, thoughtful considerate lady given all she endured in life. Have a wonderful trip. God Speed.

Hey gang! Sorry we have so caught upon touring I haven't popped on here. Paris was wonderful, Disneyland Paris was fun (I love my American parks way more), and now we are in London. Only a couple more days and back to reality! Hope all is well with you! I'll tell you more about it with pictures when I get home.
