We have had snow on Memorial Day, I hope not this year, I'm looking forward to hubby fixing steaks or burgers on the grill. Just about the only time he "cooks".![]()
Double sympathy like! With all the budget cuts, our library doesn't even stay open like it used to.
The unfortunate part of Janis Joplin is her voice was so damaged by drugs (and they ultimately killed her at age 27). Personally, can't get passed the voice. There have been other musicians that have had their voices damaged by drug use, but not to the same degree. I didn't realize she was only 27 when she died until I looked it up just now.The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, Janis Joplin, The Doors, CCR, Johnny Cash, Motown...the 60s wasn't all cheese.![]()
Those were my favorite's too. Good music, to my ears back then. The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd, The Who, Janis Joplin, The Doors, CCR, Johnny Cash, Motown...the 60s wasn't all cheese.![]()
Thanks Figgy. I'm doing a take-home quiz this morning and then I have a final this afternoon, and then just one more paper to finish over the weekend. The worst is almost over!@StarWarsGirl95 I hope finals are going well and I hope the rest of you are well

Although I prefer classic rock from the 70s in general. Aerosmith, Queen, Alice Cooper, AC/DC, Eagles, etc.![]()
Good music all!! But what about Zeplin? Those were my favorite's too. Good music, to my ears back then.
I feel the same about mornings...we get up early to ride the "tame" rides that Grandma and pa, can do with the grandkids. At home...no alarm...I was joking. I just personally hate mornings and refuse to be up before 9 am on vacation unless absolutely necessary. Would rather be there until 2 am.
I liked them also...guess I'm pretty much a fan of all music...maybe not opera so much. The unfortunate part of Janis Joplin is her voice was so damaged by drugs (and they ultimately killed her at age 27). I agree with you on the opera. Which is odd because I've been told multiple times that my voice would be good for opera. Unfortunately, it's wasted on me.I liked them also...guess I'm pretty much a fan of all music...maybe not opera so much.![]()
Wow. That's odd that your library doesn't have better temperature/humidity controls in place, to prevent that from happening to some of the books there. Anyway, on a related note, there is something called a "book swap" at one of the train stations I go to. There are shelves full of books, and the sign says to leave a book, take a book. I think that's a great sharing idea.
Heh, heh . . . dogs "live" everywhere! We have this rule with Jack that he can only enter the bedroom if we let him in. Then, he can lounge on the rug in there, but not climb on furniture, etc. Yesterday morning, we forgot to shut the bedroom door in the morning. When I came home last night, I went upstairs and guess what I saw? No, it wasn't Jack (he knows he's not supposed to be in there if we are not there), but . . . ALL, repeat ALL of Jack's toys (about 8 of them . . . ) had mysteriously "appeared" all over the bedroom rug! BUSTED!!![]()
Story time...back to the farm...this time visiting Uncle Bob's farm.. I had never rode a horse before. After having help getting on the horse, it was a nice gentle ride for the first minute or two. Then the horse just took off, jumped over some wood...no more bridle for me. I hung on to the saddle, for dear life. I guess the horse got tired after about 5 minutes...starting walking again. I was around 11 at the time. Took me years before I would ride any horse.![]()
Sadly, I always seem to miss ropedropsI do a mix of approaches when we go to the parks. Usually we hit them at rope drop the first two days and don't leave til closing time then sleep in our third day and rest that day. It works for us. But we might change it up. This year, my son's and my first day will be at the 24 hour party.
I'm jumping to Disney's sight for restaurant menu's. I've read they are changing menu's quite a bit. Just want to dream about any new treat's.
