Not that it was lost (I just didn't know where it was), but I chanced upon our wedding video yesterday.

The label is perplexing, in two ways.

View attachment 92379

First of all, everybody knows that when it comes to ALL things wedding related, the bride's name is listed first.

Second, my dad made that tape. You might even recognize his printing on the label. Surely he, of all people, should have put my name first!

Hahaaa...! :)

Just a quick aside...
Have you transferred the tape to DVD or some other more modern media? Tape is a magnetic media, and I know that it will degrade and eventually disappear over time, much quicker if it's played often. I've transferred many of our most treasured tapes to DVD over the years.
Some of our more tech-savvy members, please correct me if I'm wrong.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Having not eaten all day, Hubby and I opted for a very late lunch/very early dinner of various deli salads and hot dogs. In my case, hot dog. Singular.

image.jpg The rotini salad, at the top, was surprisingly bland. The larger pasta salad at the bottom (minus the yucky black olives) had an unexpected kick.
Eat the chick pea salad first; smoosh the two pasta salads together ... perfection!

My hot dog, with tangy dill relish; proving once again, that I DO NOT add ketchup to everything:

With milk, of course.

Well, I know it's still early May; and I know I'm in Canada, but it got hot (not complaining!) rather quickly. I finally relented and turned on the air.

It had been a few degrees warmer!

I am content with fans and open windows, but the menfolk like it under 80 degrees. Wimps!

My mom is 76 and my pop is 82. After their last pup died about 4 years ago, mom felt the same way , and they have not gotten another pup since.
Tell them I'm sorry, I don't know them, but I understand how they feel. When you have a lot of years under your belt, a lot of loss happened. My Mom and Dad was "old" when I was born...I can relate to a generation older than me...I sometimes think I should be near 80 instead of 70, as I lived a very sheltered life. Not in all respects, as far as living on the farm, moving into town..and growing up fast for the time. My brother, (who was most like my temperament) died when he was 44 due to heart disease. I try to think of every day as my last. I try to find the humor in life, in difficult circumstances, as that makes me feel better. So, sometimes, if I seem callous in my "stories", it's my way of coping. Everyone has their way of course, laughter seems to work for me.

As I've posted before, both of my grandmothers were very sweet ladies that loved their girly things, but, there was work to be done on the farm. I used to go with them to get the chickens for soup. They would don their bonnet, apron, rubber boots...and hatchet. There was a stump each of them had that they would lay them on to lop their heads off and then toss them in a galvanized tub so they didn't run off.
A few hours later...fresh chicken soup. :hungry: :)
my childhood perspective, if that happened to me ( and , thankfully it didn't) I never really knew where my food came from....

I will "see" your Locus tree baby leaves, and "raise" you one crabapple tree that literally bloomed overnight.

Enjoy it while you can, says I. It will be completely nude of blossoms by tomorrow; Monday at the latest.
Pink is one of my favorite colors (my magic band choice, for next trip, to match my Mickey pink hat). Thanks for such a pretty picture... snow is going to take it's toll (for the second time) on all our plants..I want to move south right now, except for leaving the kids and grandkids...

That's it? Gosh, I need more filler (think popcorn) not the healthiest but it's a go to when dinner doesn't fill me up....
