Sorry that I didn't reply either. I haven't used the DDP much because it just didn't pay for us. I looked at menus in advance and price it out. Sorry if you felt slighted, I like having you around on here. I hope you come back soon! :)

Yep, as I've posted before, the only reason we ever did it was 'cause of my CM discount, back when I was still a Disney Store CM. The plan we had was, basically, $30 per day instead of $60. That, we could justify. Now that I'm not a CM anymore, we'll go back to probably only two dinner ADRs for a week-long trip, and sharing QS/CS meals the rest of the time. Plus, as I've also posted before, was just WAAAYYYYY to darn much food...!

Would you guys add the dining plan if you have 17 TS reservations. I did the deluxe dining plan back in 2008 and it was too much food but I'm looking at the basic for this trip. What do you think. Do you need me to list the reservations I have?
In general, I don't think it's worth it. It doesn't offer a lot of flexibility. It no longer comes with appetizers, the tip is not covered, so you might save money...or you might not. Disney doesn't even market it as a money saver anymore (unless you get free dining, which is different). It's more of a convenience factor. I would recommend that instead of getting the dining plan, you make a budget as to what you would have paid using the dining plan and stick to it. That way, you can order appetizers and skip dessert, or order two appetizers as your entree. Just a lot more flexibility IMO.

Also, I forgot to mention this, but Kona is a fantastic breakfast place that is not expensive and I seriously recommend you try it if you have not already.

The only one that I would be wary of is Biergarten. If you've been there before and liked it, go for it. But we hated it the one time we were there. There are better Epcot options (Chefs de France would be my choice). I'm also not sure the Fantasmic dinner package is worth it. They tend to have FPs for Fantasmic left over, so you'd be better off using your three and then grabbing a Fantasmic FP. Mama Melrose's also tends to be hit or miss. Can you get into Prime Time? That one tends to be better IMO. Probably best DHS table service.
Funny how it works out with people's tastes. We loved Biergarten and had a great time but France was a one and done, won't go back for us.

Thanks for responding to my question. You were the only one here who seemed to care about my question except for Jennifer asking what restaurants we were going to. After that, crickets.
So I thank you for caring enough to not ignore a question I had. I don't have much experience with the dining plan and I trusted everyone's opinion here. Jennifer asked a similar question and got so much information and that's great but I was ignored.
Yes my daughter is going but she is not on our package. So it's just me and my on on the package where I would add the dining plan.
Now I think I'm going to excuse myself from this thread for a couple of days because I'm a little hurt.
Thanks again Moxomund.

I don't know enough about DDP to be of any help. That's why I've never responded to anybody's questions about DDP. I definitely would have responded if I thought I could be of any help. We all like you here. Hope you come back soon.

Also, since we're having the catch up conversation, just want to say: college keeps me busy. Sometimes all I have time for is reviewing my quotes, following up on conversations, and possibly posting once or skimming a page. During weeks like this one, I'm especially short on time and can only pop in when I need breaks or need to vent (like I have with my group member situation; I appreciate the input btw). My first semester of college I had to completely take a break from the forums because things got so hectic.

So please, don't get offended if you see that I'm not responding to a post. It's not that I don't care; it's that I'm extremely short on time, and trying to catch up on a lot of posts (especially on a fast-moving thread like this one) will quite often mean I'm not focused for a while. Once the semester's over, I can keep up more. And I make sure to respond when tagged or quoted. Hope y'all understand. :)

Hated Biergarten. I think it's also because one of my dad's friends is half German and I've had his mom's food, and it was way better. Kind of like how my 1/4 Italian bestie won't eat Italian unless a relative cooked it or she's in Italy.

France has a huge menu. And their chicken is fantastic. Also their French onion soup. Which I actually like better than pizza. :jawdrop:

The Dining Plan dollar to dollar is a hard call. It depends on your eating and drinking pattern. If you would always order dessert and order a non-adult beverage you come out ahead. We don't generally order desserts and often drink water so it is a loose for us. Plus if you order the soda and dessert solely because it is part of the allotment you are tipping quite a bit more when you add up the dessert and soda into the total, multiply that by how many times you tip over the vacation it add up.

I have gotten the DDP 1 TS one QS for years but I get the 50% off the dining plan so that is an automatic win for me.

I may or may not have just asked a professor if I can write a marketing paper about Frozen.:cautious:
And...he approved the paper! So I will be writing a marketing paper about...Frozen.

We had two options: a quiz in class or a short paper (he said three pages, I'm thinking 10 should be good). Writing about Frozen vs. studying for quiz...yeah, tough choice.

So, some guy "bumps" me at a red light today, and his front licence plate bolts pierced my bumper. (In case you didn't know, Ontario cars must sport front and rear plates.)

Very minor, but as you know my car is quite new.
Nissan's estimate is $926.74. Dude doesn't like it. Wants me to get a second estimate.

Dude. You hit me. The car is less than 21 months old. Plus, it's a lease.

I am only going to get fixed at a Nissan approved body shop, so that it is not held against me when I trade it in.

Not sure how much effort I want to put into this.
Irk me some more and I'm just going to make it an insurance claim.

I theen that word does not spell like she theens it does... o_O
Good thing she didn't put another "s" in it...!!! :joyfull: ;) :)
Yeah, I saw that I had spelled it wrong; but sadly, my post had already been quoted before I caught it.
Usually, when I am unsure how to spell a word, I Google it. In this case, it never occurred to me to check it, as I thought it really did have an "s".

I did Google it after the fact to see if it was one of those flavor/flavour things. It's not. I goofed.

Why do so many people hate that song? I don't understand it. It's an amazing piece of music. I've been known to listen to it in my car and sing along.
I have a 4-disc set I bought last trip, and one disc is music from the rides.

21 tracks - my favourites, pretty much in order:
Soarin'
It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow
Pirates
It's a Small World
Tiki Room
Splash
