Ivory Tower Squabble EST 2011. WINDMILL SURVIVOR

Yeah, it was bad for my trip, I can only imagine how awful it is now. :(

They should have just shut her down and plowed through the entire project quicker. They could have sold that to the board by just telling them how quickly they could sell out on the limited DVDs and stick their hands into that pretty pretty money.

Yes, it's $60. To me, it's also quite a bit of a rip off if you're paying out of pocket, at least for my family. Usually, lunch for us is $10-15 per person. Dinner is $25-$30 per person (average, some are higher, some are lower). Sometimes we get snacks, sometimes we don't, but let's say we pay $5 for snacks (which is overpriced; usually it's $3-$5). That would be $40-50 per person not using the meal plan. Maybe sometimes we'd hit the $60 mark, but that usually doesn't happen. And most places accept Tables in Wonderland, which is a 20% discount. Which is why my family will continue to pay out of pocket rather than go on the meal plan. Not likely we'd get offered it for free as DVC members and AP holders.
sadly.. no tables in wonderland for foreign people.

Buy it when you are in Florida?
I'm thinking about that, buying online and sending it to my Boss who lives in Tampa. We're going to meet anyway.

just need to save $$$,as buying in the US means no monthly instalments (in Mexico you can always get stuff in up to 18 months rate with no interest thanks to credit card promotions)

I was waiting for someone to catch that. Took me 3 shots to get it in frame.
And to answer your question - dunno.
they are clearly fixing something. Wood thingies + cement machine on the top of the building?
hard to really see whats going on :p

*edit*
nevermind, I agree it might be the work for the third screen for Soarin'.

Agree. We first rode it (myself and all 3 of our kiddos in the same ride vehicle) in July of '04, less than a year after it opened, so there wasn't even a green choice, yet.
After we got off the ride, we all talked about how much we loved the feeling of our faces peeling back and the negative Gs, and all high-fived each other.
DWifey, on the other hand, won't go near that thing, green or otherwise...! :D ;) :)

I've done Orange before. Now, I can't say that Orange did this to me, but a day after that, (my return day home), I was ill and light-headed. The next morning, my head was spinning and I could hardly get out of bed. Was taken to the doctor, and he diagnosed vertigo, and gave me a prescription for some medication. Thank goodness it worked. Anyway, never had vertigo in my life before, and haven't since. To be on the safe side, I only go to the Green side now.

@JenniferS , enjoy your breakfast at Kona, and have some Tonga Toast for me!! :hungry:

I'm also interested in your impressions of the Poly today. It looked really bad back in May; I'm wondering if they've fixed up the place a bit since then (not just Captain Cook's either). All I saw were construction walls everywhere and practically no signage for the guests--disgraceful. Of course, the bungalows are what really turn me off. Can't believe they would construct those to completely block the beautiful view off Sunset Point, for the benefit of just 8 families or so? :banghead:

The meal plan debate will probably be never ending, but for us, right now, it's worth it. Most of our meals are character meals. 3 of us for breakfast at CM was over $100. That justified the meal plan to me, since it was like eating for free for the rest of the day.

It also is a LOT less stressful traveling with my husband who doesn't like to see the money flow out of our pockets. I can pay for the meals before we go and deal with the grumpiness at home, pre-trip! ;)

Once DS gets bigger, I'm sure we'll move over to TIW and pay OOP. For now, I'm enjoying every minute that he wants to see the characters!!

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
There is a new censor to cut down the swearing I'm thinking. The funniest I've seen was the actor who played Burt in Mary Poppins has 80% of his name starred out. If your name is short for Richard ;) it'll show up as all asterisks.
So ... hereinafter Burt shall be called DVD?

Off to Kona.
Pics of Tammy's Tonga Toast, my Macadamia Nut Pancakes and Hubby's Big Kahuna (?) to follow.

I wish DVD received free dining.

haha DVC not DVD

But if I did regular dining:
  • 1 table-service meal
  • 1 quick-service meal
  • 1 snack
  • 1 refillable mug
The price is not worth it for me. Even if it was deluxe dining which is another meal and snack for 110. Not worth it. I could never eat that much food in one day unless I'm in a restaurant like the Yachtsman, doing a buffet everyday or something like that. I rarely eat lunch when it's hot outside and even when its cold, depends what time I eat eat breakfast and how much I have. Or a snack for lunch would be fine. The buffet for breakfast at Boma did me in until supper/dinner time. Of course I had to waddle myself around. :joyfull:
